I've missed you friends! My modem got zapped by the lightening storms we had late last week during a tornado warning. I've been "out of the loop!"

Welcome back! I know what you mean. Our DVD player broke so I let my daughter watch a movie on my computer and the whole time I was thinking... I need to see what everyone is up to and I can't get on!

Hope you didn't have any other storm damage.

Correction: Didn't eat the snack shake until almost 6:30pm so I didn't have another shake, a third serving of lettuce/Spinach, or the diet Sprite. I was full. Also, aqua aerobics cancelled this evening due to rain and lightening (was to be at Y's outdoor pool...this is the 3rd time canceled this week!)
I didn't TRY to have such a low protein/low calorie day. I better not let this happen again or my body will stall out and lower my metabolism!

I'm back from Jacksonville.....I won't even post what I ate (NOT terrible) but I did NOT get enough water in. I drank about 66 oz of plain water on the trip up, and again on the trip back, but I usually get between 110, and 125 ounces of plain water in a day.

Tomorrow is another day!

Hi friends,
Youngest DD came to town so we could shop for her sister's bridal shower and get the invitations out, etc. I stayed on plan (including ketosis) until we went out to dinner this evening, and still stayed pretty good. Back on plan in the AM. I'm down about 10 lbs since returning from Orlando trip a couple wks ago. Talk to you here soon.

Cathy - You've been doing MAV-a-Lus! And wow (!) 3 liters of water! I worked last Friday and yesterday. There's no way I can drink the amount of water assigned....I'm running to the BR and away from patients too much!!
For the past 5 days my mainstay has been Jay Robb shakes (powder that I mix with water and crushed ice, occasionally adding other flavors to them). I've also had no more than one Pure Protein PB bar daily. In addition I've been eating spinach leaves sandwiched between romaine lettuce leaves. Also I've been intermittently eating carbmaster's yogurt and home roasted turkey breast.
Not able to exercise since Saturday due to increased pain in left wrist, elbow, arm; my left thumb has been continuously numb since moving oldest DD to Tx and injuring it when I hyperextended it. I go to see a hand orthopedist tomorrow. May have nerve entrapment - oh no!

You've been so diligent with your eating and exercise, Mary. I think your body just doesn't want to go less than 146. Would you be ok staying there? Is you BMI ok at that weight? We know you're lots healthier that you were pre-Medi!

Drinking the water is tricky Deb, you do have to always be close by a bathroom. I hope your injury is healing.

My body and I ARE having a "battle of wills" so to speak! I'm NOT at the BMI or weight I need/want to be. I'm only 5'2" tall so 146 is still too heavy . At this point I'm OK, just plugging along, especially since my body shape is still changing I'm pretty sure one of these days, I'll drop another couple of pounds (then probably be stuck at that weight for a while too) This is the least I've weighed (and certainly the smallest clothes I've worn) in too many years to count! I can't even express how thankful I am for my new found health. I no longer take Advil on an "every 4 hour schedule" I DO take a couple Arthritis Tylenol a day, but that's it (besides my vitamins)........no more prescriptions at all!

Horray for no more perscriptions! You have been such an inspiration with your lifestyle changes and determination! Does you BMI end up having you in the overweight zone? I wonder if Medi would be talking to you about muscle weight? You're not actually flabby any longer are you? You are looking great, girlfriend!!

Hi Cathy and Mary - I need to be posting here. I did really well for about 5 days, then youngest DD came home last week and we all went out to eat Sat eve, then I did well for another 5 days. I know if I faithfully commit to week one for a full week I could lose 7 to 10 lbs! I took my mother of the bride dress to church and showed it to a friend Sunday, no room to let out. The bridal store allowed me to exchange it for the next bigger size (size 12) and it fit perfectly. So, realistically I may have to have that "taken in" in a few weeks but that's a safer option!
Yesterday had my MD appt and today worked again and kept having "zinging" pain down my arm, it's my fault, not work. I'm supposed to self-limit and I try to overdo and do my full load. I was dx'd with having overstretched the radial nerve and have continued numbness in my left thumb. It can resolve with time but I'm told if it's still bothering me 5 months from now doc says he'd do surgery. I'm just thankful that I don't have to have surgery now and can be in my mother of thebride dress the end of August for oldest DD's wedding! He gave me the okay to exercise too. It really is self limiting though because it can be painful when pushing or pulling or grasping, etc.

Deb, great news on not needing surgery right now. It sounds painful for you but, you got the ok to exercise so maybe just small movements or halfways? It sounds like so much going on with the wedding and of course there will be a lot of time eating and testing things, be strong you have been doing this alot long time and you know what to do. I will be thinking of you. The wedding is just around the conner!! It is July, WOW! Lets make this month a great one to set a mini goal. Iam going for 10lbs! That is more real than 15. Lets keep on going and helping eachother out.
Here is the Plan:
B: eas shake
L: 3oz bbq deli chicken
D: 93/7 hamburg 3oz, salad
S: GG cracker x2, 1 wedge lc
2 liters water
E: Jillian's 6 week abs(it is hard)
finished 30 day shred

Cathy
