WOW guess I didn't know there are different flavors.....but now that I look the one my friend gave me is (going to get the box) Bigelow Vanilla Chai.....I also have Oregon Chai Sugar Free Concentrate (it's a liquid in a box.....just heat and add milk it says) It also says it has vanilla and spices. Do you add almond milk to yours? Guess I'll have to see what other flavors are out there. Have you tried others?

Determined Gemini - You are doing so well, being faithful and posting...and exercising and all!! I'm proud of you!

I've been busy with work, grad school, starting with students again too. Time to have some easy to do discipline in my life!!

Sunday I realized I may have SAD (seasonal affective disorder)...its been so white and overcast daily for weeks and weeks. Then that AM it got sunshiney for about two minutes and I told my husband I felt like a switch got turned on in my body! I instantly felt uplifted, light, happy....then it got gloomy and white again! So, Monday, prior to going to work, I went to the basement, turned on a DVD that had nature scenes, selected the ONE scene that showed sunset on a lake and birdlife, muted the DVD as it played the scene over and over again, turned up my radio with Christian positive, encouraging music (K-Love), turned on the overhead and all the lamp lights so it was bright in there (even though 0600 in the AM and black outside, and go on the treadmill intending to walk for 10 minutes. Felt so good I ended up jog/walk alternating for 30 minutes--yeah!!! Then turned everything up, went upstairs, looked out at the blackness and decided I'd already done something positive, it wasn't going to get me down!! Geez....what do you expect? I realized I was raised in Hawaii and southern CA, lived there for a total of 14 years prior to leaving home! No wonder I'm a sun lover and cold intolerant!

Picked up more Fat Burners yesterday and starting my modified week 1 again today! MWL appt in 8 days....

1-19-11
B - One little pc of protein biscotti I made last night (I'll figure the stats and post in the dessert recipe thread); 1/2 of Pure Protein bar; coffee with Waldens Farm caramel dip and 1/2 and 1/2 --delish!!
S - Another cup of coffee (same) I've had 3 glasses of 12 oz water so far

Do you take Vitamin D3? IF not or if you only take a small amount, PLEASE read up on it on the internet, so you can decide for yourself.....It has made a huge difference in the way I feel (even living here in the sunshine state) DD is taking larger doses too and it has made a big change in her mood too

I haven't been posting here because I haven't been weighing or measuring my food, or writing what I eat down.....however I have been following Medi, and HAVE been walking outside, and doing exercises at home. I'm also being really good about getting all of my plain water in, and then other fluids on top of that!
I've started taking Hoodia, since I have run out of AS, and have no immediate plans for going back to the clinic (financial reasons.....I LOVE my clinic, and the plan as a whole) and it seems to be helping my appetite some....or maybe it's all in my head  I've also made the decision to add a TINY bit more fat to my diet.

Thanks Mary! I take 2,000 IU daily. How much do you and DD take? My dose happens to be 500% of the recommended daily allowance.

I take 6,000IU, and I THINK she takes about the same, but I also get outside to walk much more than she does

i wish i posted more consistently.

b-protein shake with banana, blueberries and strawberries
s-almonds
l-protein crunch bar, my favorite
s-york peppermint patty (fun size) and almonds
d-huge egg white omelette with tomatoes, spinach, onions and mozzerella cheese
s-fiber one yogurt
exercise- jillian michaels 30 day shred, I started this last friday. Honestly, I thought it would be a joke. I got it free with a magazine subscription awhile back and opened it only because I was bored with my workout routine and I only had a small window that day to workout. THIS IS TOUGH! I thought I was in pretty good shape but not enough for this to be easy. I did level 3 the first day and was in pain the next day. I started level one on sunday and plan to do ten days of each and see what kind of results I get. Not trying to lose weight, just trying to look better in a bikini by april

Thanks Mary, maybe I'll increase too. Any side effect? I mean, are you drawn to drinks with little umbrellas and playing the ukelele? I'm joking! Today I sat in the reclincer studying and working on class stuff by the 2 living room south facing windows with the sun shining on me! Whoo Hoo!! Loved it! Then this evening I came across a note I taken several weeks ago, "Where would we be where the sun shines constantly? In the desert." No thanks! I'm just thankful for the sunshine today, and blue skies! Thank you Lord!

I just realized part of the reason why I've gained 10 lbs in the past 6 weeks, other than not saying "no" to holiday foods and seconds, that is! I usually walk 1 1/2 to 2 miles twice a week between 5 to 6 areas of the large hospital where I teach students...and we've been on winter break, so there goes that exercise (whoosh!), out the door. Plus, still not doing my outdoor jogging and biking....

Charlene - We LOVE hearing how you are doing. What a tough workout that sounds like. And I know you are in shape, girl!

Okay, help me here!I have been reading thru the post on this thread and am confused! I was just told at the clinic yesterday to replenish my proteins when I exercise or I will go into starvation. I am on 500 protein calories and additional 150 allowed for fruit and/or vegetable. But they said if I like vaccum I take the calories burnt and add to my 500 calories. While reading this it doesn't seem you all are doing that? What should I do?

One more thing is I LOVE MY COFFEE! But I gotta have cream! I use FF walmart creamer, I have never used almond milk..How is it and what is the carb/calories count?

Michelle, I use the UNSWEETENED Blue Diamond Almond Breeze in chocolate or vanilla flavors in coffee, but now I think I'm going to do like Determined Gemini and put it in hot cocoa (unsweetened Swiss Miss). For a full 8 fluid oz serving of almond milk it's 45 calories/3.5 g fat/3 carbs/1 fiber/ and 2 g protein. Thats ALOT better than nonfat milk and certainly better for you than powdered creamers. Call your clinic about the exercise/calorie question. Each clinic is different.

Michelle, Before I started Medi, I was using skim milk and now I drink the original flavor almond milk and I like it better than skim milk. Original flavor almond milk is 40 calories/2 carbs/3 fat/1 protein/1 fiber. I don't drink coffee so no idea how it will taste.

As Deb said each clinic and person's needs are different and you should contact your clinic.

When I exercise, I burn any where between 900 to 1500 calories and as per my clinic, if I replaced all those calories plus eat my 500 protein calories, I would only be maintaining my weight and not lose. I do up my calories intake the days I exercise just not all of them.
