Charlene and Mary - Thank you. I didn't really start my true grieving until yesterday afternoon, though we made our decision about 6pm the night before and carried it out yesterday am. I think I wanted to hold it together enough to be available for my daughters and my husband and help them with their grieving prior to that time. It was hard on DH as after oldest DD left for college (he was her childhood kitten) then he went mostly to DH for cuddling because DH is more often in the recliner than I am! (Does this mean I am on the go? Well, more so than DH! LOL) Now I find myself going about my day and suddenly crying a minute or so as I pass a location and a memory comes to mind. Makes trying to get my grad school work done quite disruptive! I gotta get back to task now. Thanks again for being "there"! Storm, other 17 year old kitty, has been doing ok. A couple times last night he got out of bed and cried, but purred when I picked him up and calmed him down, bringing him back to bed. He's eating, drinking, being his usual self, and laying in a sunshine spot by the front window right now, just inches away from a birdfeeder and lots of sparrows, just where I knew he likes to be. I'm massively grateful that I don't have to worry about his imminent demise. Whew!
Mary and Kelly - Mary, what are the flavors you like that are SF? Kelly, your combo sounds yummy! I haven't tried Big Train. That's a good idea to mix with decaf in the evening. I'll remember that. Every AM for the past several months I've been mixing coffee with SF Caramel flavored syrup from DaVinci and a "splash" of chocolate unsweeten almond milk. Yum! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. DH and youngest DD (who drove in from grad school late Thurs eve) plan to have us get a Christmas tree today and start decorating. It will be a good diversion, but still, the first time in 17 years without Scout. It will be a good diversion for Storm though. We love Christmas, pulling out all the old things, and keeping our traditions. Family is such a rich blessing!

B-1 egg and 2oz of turkey kielbasa and my coffee concoction L- 15 shrimp with 1 tbsp cocktail sauce D- 5oz of shredded chicken and italian turkey sausage with 2 tbsp shredded cheedar cheese S- 1/2c yellow wax beans with balsamic vinager SF jello S- laughing cow wedge cheese protein calories 530, total calories 605 carbs about 15 I'm getting nervous about my weigh in on Tuesday. Unfortunately I am one of those people that weighs myself everyday, even though I know I shouldn't. And I've only gone down about two pounds since last Tuesday, even though I have mostly stayed on track all week and have stayed in ketosis. I've also worked out about 3 times this week. My goal was to lose about 4lbs every week. Oh well, I still have a few days we'll see what happens. Kelly

Ok, really back to week one tomorrow. I'm up, up from goal. I can tell you that I'm warmer, and I think that may have been part of the reason I got lax (having lost part of my insulation) but today I tried on the blouse I wore for my Medi photo shoot and it was snug...makes me feel like I'm 20 to 30 lbs overweight, though I'm 9 lbs over goal. It's gotta stop here!

Debbie, I use the liquid Coffee Mate Sugar Free and like both the Vanilla and the Hazelnut. They also make a Vanilla Carmel (I think) and I really didn't care for it! I REALLY, REALLY wish they made other flavors in Sugar Free.......and I don't know why they don't!
12/3/10 B- Coffee, eggbeaters, turkey bacon Walked 4 miles L-tuna, cottage cheese S-celery with peanutbutter D-turkey and cabbage soup.......this was GREAT! 12/4/10 B-Coffee, turkey smoked sausage L-chicken breast boneless, skinless from KFC.....VERY small S-turkey cabbage soup D- 4 chicken wing pieces (HOT) salad from Ruby Tuesdays no REAL exercise

12/6 I'm planning:
B- 2 eggs 140 with 2oz turkey kielbasa 90 coffee 30 L- 15 shrimp 110 1 tbsp cocktail sauce 15 D- 5oz shredded chicken and Italian turkey sausage 170 2cups salad with ceaser spray dressing 30 Calories 510 protein 585 total and about 15 calories There will be no working out today, I am so sore from yesterday. I'll try to take the dogs for a walk tonight but no guarantees, I will have a long day at work today. Even though everything on me hurts, I do always love the feeling of being sore. It lets me know I really pushed myself. Here's to hoping I can stay on track today, and everyone else too Kelly |

I have started to get lax with my journal... so I think that doing this will help me keep on myself..
yesterday: B-1 light LC cheese + 2 strips precooked bacon [70 cal + 1 Carb] L -3oz grilled chicken leftovers + sliced cucumbers [105 cal + 5 carb (for the veg)] S- string cheese [50 cal + 1 carb] S - LC cheese (I worked late yesterday) [35 cal + 1 carb] D - Medi shake vanilla + Ice + Diet Rootbeer [104 cal+ 2.6 carb] S - sugar free caramel mousse pudding thing + FF whip [80 cal + 7 carb] S - cheese stick [70 cal + 1 carb] total: 514 cal 18.6 carb Snacking after dinner...arg.... but I did stay up WAY WAY too late editing pictures and I hadn't reached 500 cal by the then either... And I think I have too many snacks... maybe I should eat more at the actual meals... Sometimes I wonder if I am calculating things right because the totals seem low.... Exercise: unless you count walking the dog up two flights of stairs a couple times and shivering to keep warm while she takes her sweet time or walking to the bathroom 8,000 times during the workday... none. Today's plan: B: hardboiled egg [70 cal + 0 carb] S: Light LC cheese [ 35 cal + 1 carb] L: 3oz grilled chicken leftovers + sliced cucumbers [105 cal + 5 carb (for the veg)] S: string cheese [50 cal + 1 carb] ------> total of 260 cals and 7 carb for the day, leaving 240 cal and 13 carb (+5 for a veggie) for dinner, which I haven't figured out yet. Lunch will be the same everday this week... had the BF grill me a few chicken breasts with a variety of seasonings on sunday night while we grilled some tuna steaks for dinner. Cut the chicken up and put it into small containers for the week :-) |

Normally I wouldn't post until tomorrow, but I tried a new (for me at least) drink, and I thought it was GREAT! Many times I can't find the products that everyone else is writing about, (and I'm jealous )so now I have something to share!Oregon Chai Sugar Free Original - Chai Tea Latte Concentrate! I mixed it 1/2 and 1/2 with Unsweetened vanilla almond milk and heated....Oh my goodness it is really yummy It comes in a cardboard quart box, and is sweetened with Splenda. I found it at WinnDixie in the organic isle. 0 calories1 carb B-Coffee, TVP "oatmeal" L-Turkey, cabbage, and rutabaga soup D-Chicken breast, broccoli |

kmchap- thanks for the heads up! I get focused on strictly calories and carbs and then neglect what the calories actually are. Some how in my head I had it worked out that if it didn't have alot of carbs.. it must be protein! stupid brain.... I need start making sure I denote what is protein and what is not in my journal.
Today's actuals/plan: B: hardboiled egg [70 cal + 0 carb] S: Pancake (from rec threads) [50 cal + 1 carb] L: 3.5 oz hot italian chicken sausage (Spicy and yummy!) [105 cal + 2 carb] L: 1 c cucumber slices [5 carb] S: string cheese [50 cal + 1 carb] S: Light LC cheese [35 cal + 1 carb] (I will probably be working late-ish today] that is 310 cal and 9 carb so far for the day (260 protein calories) Dinner is still TBD.... Excercise... not planned... working late and did not go to bed on time last night so i plan to relax and go to bed early. |

Do you have Kroger grocery stores? You can google it and see if that brand is sold in a store near you. Anyways....Kroger's carbmaster yogurts are allowed in week 1 and they are 12g protein for 80 calories I believe, 4 carbs. Also you could buy the bars from Medi or, my favorite, is Pure Protein bars peanut butter flavor, lots of protein but has about 16 carbs also. Best bet is to get protein powder. I like the Jay Robb Vanilla protein powder and have added water, ice, and SF flavorings like DaVinci Kaluha; or recently been adding in Diet Dr Pepper (no water or ice).
12-8-10 B - scoop of Jay Robb Vanilla Protein Powder and Diet Dr Pepper (w/caffiene) L - Pure Protein Peanut Butter bar, 1 to 1 1/2 oz of walnuts D - beef/mushrooms/broccoli stir fry over 1/3 c of rice S - white hard cheese, slivered almonds Bicycled outdoors 1 mile (brrr! 45 degrees was the high) Triggered my allergies and now I'm hoarse! |

I mix plain greek yogurt with protein powder and water/ice for a very tasty dessert shake. I also have a bunch of sugar free Torani and DaVinci syrups that I use for flavor. I also add fresh fruit to some of them. It's a great way to get in the protein without meat.

Mary - Towards the end of my acute phase I was down to not taking any AS or just taking 1/2 of a tab. So I still had about 10 tabs left and that has helped me this time around....I took 2 on 12/7 and then only 1 yesterday and today; but I also took 2 fat burners on 12/7 and 12/8 and then only 1 today.
Kelly - Are you buying your shredded chicken already shredded? Where!? Or are you doing this at home, in a crock pot? Light or dark. Just curious. Sounds good to me! |
