I think you'd be surprised at yourself....don't be too skeptical! If you can bike for 45 mins you may have a lot more endurance than you think Just try it! I still haven't gone the full 5K (3.3 miles I think) distance, I've only gone as far as 2 1/2 miles, but I think I'll be getting into it with my friends jogging along with me...it's a flat route compared to where I practice. You can do it!! Just try 2 to 3 times a week for the next 3 wks. Jog 1 mile, walk a couple mins, then jog another mile, walk a couple minutes. The next time cut out one of the walks, just lenthn your jogging length.

Good for you Charlene about running in the charity events! That's my plan too. There's one I know of in Oct, then again in Jan and Feb! I've been off on my exercise this week because of workers in the home being around and feeling like their "in my space" so I'm not free to jump in the shower, etc. This AM I thought about going to the gym....what a novel idea

I care so much about a lot of different charities but sometimes it's hard to fit it all in. In the next two months I have one AIDS walk, the Komen and one autism walk/run....and that's just the ones I have already registered for...and I just did the Heartwalk and a kids cancer on last weekend (ran most of that one but walked in between)...between my regular job which is at least 45 hours a week, time with my kiddo and family and my own huge family of pets, volunteer work I do and just life and socialization in general, sometimes I feel like I never sleep......oh wait, I hardly do. haha, i can't complain though! I love every second of my self induced craziness!

Today (9/23)
B-1 1/2 servings of yogurt and 1 tbsp pb
l-tofurky, cheese
s-apple and pb2
d-egg whites and veggie cheese
s-sf popsicle and a few almonds....todays menu is almost exactly like yesterdays because i haven't had much time to prepare anything.

will do at least 45 minutes on elliptical, abs and legs today and i'm going to wake up early in the morning and attempt running at the park with one of my pooches!

9/24/10
b-yogurt with 1/4 c kashi cereal in it
s-detour protein bar (snack size)
l-pure protein blueberry bar
s-primal strips veggie jerky
d-protein shake
s-gel snack, pickle and 1 tbsp pb
on the go all day and had to eat grab and go stuff. Ran/jogged 4 miles in the morning with my dog. I could have kept going but he had no desire to. It was actually relatively easy...I thought I was gonna have a hard time but I'm proud of myself.

9/25/10
b-greek yogurt with raspberries
s-pb and celery
l-protein shake
d-lots of salad w/ hard boiled egg, apples and a little cheese
dessert, yes, I said dessert-about 1/4 cup fat free frozen yogurt mixed with about 1/2 cup sugar free chocolate mousse

55 minutes on bike, legs, abs

Thought I would pop in here. I was up a few pounds and felt bloated this week. My weight is already back down after one day back on week 1. I am going to stick with it for a couple more days and see if I can get my weight a little lower. I have my monthly wellness appointment tomorrow. I hate spending the money every month, but I know that it keeps me accountable. If I didn't have this appointment scheduled, I probably would have been okay being up a couple of pounds. You know what happens, those couple of pounds turn into 10 pounds, and so on...

Yesterday:
B - 4 turkey sausage links
L - 3 turkey sausage patties
S - EAS AdvantEdge Shake
D - 4 oz lean ground beef w/mustard and reduced sugar ketchup

Today:
B - 1/2 cup eggbeaters w/1 laughing cow and 1 turkey sausage patty
L - EAS AdvantEdge Shake
D - 2 oz ground beef, 3/4 cup egg beaters
S - 17 turkey pepperoni

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Mary - I bought a Total Gym from a garage sale 2 summers ago for $30 and had practiced it in the driveway there and was very excited! The brother of the person who had the sale loaded it in my trunk and since that time I've tried at least 1/2 a dozen times to put it together and I'm clueless! I've even gone online and looked for the old booklet of this model (which I didn't find), and tried to piece it together looking at a new one. Good grief! It's like he threw in an extra screw or removed something after turning it inside out! I would love to use it!

DD came home to run in the Race for the Cure with me....eating off plan quite a bit. But, I did jog the entire 5K without stopping!! I'll be signing up for another 5k Oct 10th...will go to church on a Saturday evening since I'll be missing service at my Sunday AM services only, pastor already knows. I'm going to train jogging faster for 45 seconds followed by 60 seconds of my routine pace jogging....train like I did for the C25K! I know I'll need to eat some nuts to keep my energy up, other than that I plan to do week 1 starting again Monday for at least 4 days to get back into ketosis, then add in veggies, and stay away from fruits and grains for a while. About to have my big plunge of giving up artificial sweeteners except for 1 coffee daily with 1 SunCrystals (1/2 stevia, 1/2 sugar) and unsweeten almond milk; and 1 diet sprite can. It's got to be limited!! I've gone so overboard, which just makes we crave even more carbs.

Debbie ~ google 'total gym schematic' and several versions of the owner's manual will be found. For example, http://www.fitnessquest.com/images/t...0ownersman.pdf , which is the owners manual for the 1500 series.

I'm extremely glad that I went to the clinic today, cause I've already forgiven myself for that cake. (We were celebrating my husband's birthday at my mom's). Tomorrow, I start hitting it hard. And I'm actually EXCITED!

Charlene - I LOVE your new avatar! That is a beautiful picture of you! You look so happy!

Lea - I was hitting it hard Monday (watching what I ate and doing week one), then yesterday hubby decided we needed to have some wine. Then I ate some sharp cheese and way too many crackers. It's hard to get back onto week 1 when I'm really staying pretty close to the goal weight (was 140.2 lbs this AM). But, I know I need to know how I'm eating in order to maintain and be in true transition. Are you able to get together next week for lunch (Monday, Thursday, or Friday?)

9-29-10
B - Pure Protein protein bar (hadn't had one in SO long -- guess I'm rebelling again and added back in the whey protein/milk products today)
L - Italian beef and mozz cheese on low carb tortillas (x2), diet Sprite, diet jello
S - sugar free/fat free Dilly bar at Dairy Queen
D - salad at home made with lettuce, purple onion, 1/2 roma tomato, 1/2 kiwi, chicken breast, 1/2 avacado; about 8 triscuits, caffiene free diet Dr Pepper

Exercise - walked about 1 - 1 1/2 miles checking on my students in hospital

Charlene, you are gorgeous!! I already knew that from your other photo, but shazam!!! AND you're wearing Scooby Doo scrubs??!!! I clicked on your avatar and it said you're an animal lover and work in animal welfare. There was some talk about charities recently. I didn't post, but will admit now, that other than church, and neighborhood solicitations, all of my charities are animal charities. YOU ROCK!

I THINK maybe Thursday. What time is your photo shoot on Friday - is it still right before lunch? I'm right after - maybe we can visit there!

Can I come back too? I've already put today behind me. You just don't wanna know.

I have an appointment tomorrow at Medi so I should be really inspired and ready to kick these cravings.

As a side note, if I eat one more Atkins bar, I may turn into one. Anyone notice that when your water intake is low, you crave sweets big time? And yet I still don't drink enough water. Stoooopid!

Is it possible to have a killer headache ALREADY (doing a repeat of week one but only on DAY 1??) I did have a carb overload day yesterday.

B - turkey sausage, 110 calories
L - chicken, yogurt, 235 calories
D - cottage cheese, chicken, 245 calories

I'm probably going to have a snack - but it will be another lean protein. I'm have a terrible evening after parent/teacher conferences at my son's high school. If my head didn't hurt so much, I'd probably be looking for a candy bar!! Just kidding - I'm really gonna do this, despite my "life" getting in the way.

Welcome back, Erin!
