Charlene, what are "PB protein balls"? You always have yammy recipes. I have used a couple of them. I am sure PB protein balls are also something good.

Quote:
1/2 smooth reduced fat peanut butter 2 scoops Medi Protein chocolate 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 splenda 1/2 c water 1/4 c crushed almonds. Mix up everything except almonds (which you can crush in food processor) and roll into 1/2 inch balls then roll in almonds. Freeze for one hour. Makes 16- 63 calories, 4 carbs, 4 fat, 5 protein. I modified it to my liking because I did not like them and found them hard to work with using the above recipe. I have made them several times and I have found that different brands of pb and protein produce vastly different results. I use MRM rich vanilla whey (2 scoops) and JIF creamy RF peanut butter. I also omit the water and omit the splenda....the JIF and the MRM have natural sweetness without being too high in sugars. I also don't really measure the stuff out cause I make different amounts every time. I just put "some" PB and "some protein" and a "dash" of vanilla extract....I take tiny tastes along the way to make sure it's coming out well. I just leave mine in the freezer for two reasons: 1) they never really freeze and I like them cold 2)I don't go in the freezer as often so I am less likely to grab one when I don't need to. Hope that helps.

B - walnuts L - Taco Bell flour tortilla w/chicken, beans, gaucamole, cheese D - almonds I'm so excited! This AM I jogged 2 1/4 miles without stopping in 35 minutes! I cannot believe the endurance I have now that I've lost the weight. I don't enjoy the jog the first 20 minutes, and it really really helps to recite the Scripture that I have memorized and not focus on the jolting of my body. I spend the time praying too and praising the Lord, and focusing on my breathing. I make little goals for myself to go a little farther. I have never done this in my adult life prior to these past couple months (jogging). And now I'm really not looking forward to cold weather and the possibility of having to do this only on a treadmill. I just decided to do another "race" in May so I can keep myself motivated to keep it up.

It is interesting to me that this AM (and all week) I'm still in trace ketosis.
9-8-10 B - Genesis bread (I had called it Ezekial bread recently), almond butter L - 1 oz pork chop S - walnuts D - ground turkey/spaghetti sauce/angel hair fiber pasta S - whole grain pita chips Exercise - walked about 1 1/2 miles checking on my students in various parts of the hospital (wearing my Skechers) Late note 40 minutes later: I can tell I'm still having the effects of too many carbs, now I'm even more hungry. That's not good. Last edited by Fit2010; 09-08-2010 at 06:03 PM.. |

Allergy is not due to macademia nuts or the croutons. Had that tonight without problems. Perhaps tomorrow I'll try a Sonic Route 44 diet Sprite with strawberries and lime. I think that may have been what did it. Maybe the corn syrup, I don't think the strawberries are unsweetened. Maybe I'll do diet Sprite plain first. |

Stacey - I would definitely count the 5 hours of bending, sorting, twisting, sweeping, cleaning storage unit. Great job! Hope you kept up your water intake, if not definitely do so today! You've been doing a great job losing on this WOE! Congratulations.

I hope I am posting to right thread. Although I have not posted much, I am an avid reader of this site. I have been doing Medi since March 2010. I have lost 50 lbs and am 5 lbs from goal but I feel I am sabotaging myself because I am afraid of transition and maintenance. Transition seems so mysterious! I can’t seem to find out much about it.
My weight loss for the last several weeks has been slow. I have strong cravings and usually satisfy them with almonds. I have not been in Ketosis for a couple of weeks. It seems the smallest amount of carbs knocks me out of ketosis. Prior to Medi, I was a fruit and vegetable person. I really have missed them and the JOY of cooking and eating!! I do not have a lot of confidence in the staff at my Medi clinic. I am 65 years old and sometimes wonder if I am harming myself with this program long term. But I am scared to death of gaining this weight back. I have taken the AS all this time and am afraid to stop!! I would welcome any comments or suggestions. What I would love to do is switch my WOE to less protein and more fruit, veggies and dairy (occasionally). What would happen if I switched to something like Weight Watchers? Can anyone comment of this idea? Thanks in advance for any replies. |
