Lins - I'll keep my fingers crossed that you make it to 130's.....ketosis and all your activity will help. Hopefully you've been drinking your water!

I know how frustrating it is when you have tested positive and it turns negative. For me, I think it's because I worked out harder and more often than in the beginning of the diet. Plus, getting closer to my normal range probably slowed things down.

You'll get there! I know you will. Hang in!

Hopefully this is what is going on with me (re:ketosis). I used to be moderate ALL the time, even after I added veggies (still haven't braved fruit)....but suddenly about a week ago, it started getting towards low and trace and now it's negative. I did "cheat" a little on friday evening....but it's funny cause on saturday evening it showed trace but now it's been negative for the last couple days. I feel like I am still losing..and I, like you, have been working out more recently than I was before. Not crazy or anything, just more frequently and a little longer and added some resistance training. The moment of truth will be at my next weigh in friday.

Lins- Congratulations on the 130's!!!!! Sounds like you're back on track.

So far for me today:
B-protein shake
S-half medi bar
L-tofurky w/mustard and soy cheese
S-will be light string cheese
D-will be protein pancake or veggie grounds

Exercise- I'm on call at work tonight soooo, my intentions are good but we'll see if it happens.

Hi Everyone! I'd like to start posting here if that's ok.

I was in PR then Colombia so I went off plan for the last month. But my wedding is coming up I need to step up my game. Good news is I haven't gained anything. In fact, I think I lost some more since my pants that I wore there are looser now especially in the waist.

I'm a new surfer so I've been spending a lot of time in the water which I'm guessing has something to do with it.

Restarting day 1 all protein tomorrow.

Today's menu:
B: Coffee
L: LC tortilla wrap (small one), lettuce, chicken breast, LCow cheese
D: to be decided

Welcome Kasey....but coffee is not a sufficient breakfast! Guess you're starting again tomorrow, you said. Surfing sounds great! I can imagine all the arm action from swimming "out there" helps with the waist size. When is the wedding?

OK friends....here's the deal. I have a nasty type sinus infection but already feeling better today. This is the third time I've had pseudomonas sinus infection in the past 6 months, and so my third round of Cipro, one of only two by mouth antibiotics known to kill pseudomonas....all other treatments would be IV! I want this finished....going to see my allergist next Monday.

Meanwhile, Cipro has awful risky side effects....can make you have tendonitis or tendon rupture, even months after the drug is stopped! Good grief! So, this being my third round I'm a little concerned! Meanwhile, I'm training for the 5K....so I was back at it today. I was sure to stretch well before, even during, and afterwards.

Also, it can make you have photosensitivity (so I could more easily sunburn)....I'm still jog/walking outside. Did ok for my 40-45 mins...guess I'll just get some extra wrinkles!

Also, cannot have any calcium, magnesium, or any dairy products within 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking Cipro or it will lower the effect because the drug will be bound to the calcium. GREAT! So, no cheese, no carbmaster's yogurt, no whey protein (my Jay Robb protein mix), no Pure Protein bars, no cottage cheese, and I forgot and added my 1/2 and 1/2 to my coffee out of habit as I took my AM meds!

Oh, and ENT said, just "don't eat the carbs because you know you crave them and feel worse." That was a big help!

So, if I get cranky in the next two weeks it's cuz I'm planning to go back to week 1 eating, add a few nuts, and every once in a while have some veggies. How can I live without dairy?!!

Ok, there. Whining finished.

Oh, Debbie, I'm sorry you are sick! and that the cure sounds worse than the disease. I hope the Cipro does the trick. You have been through so much. I see you coming through this newest challenge stronger and more determined. Feel better!

Nance - You've got such a warm encouraging spirit!
You can limit yourself on your crunchy peanut butter? Good for YOU!
I haven't heard of oxycise.

Thanks, Debbie--and the same goes for you.

No, I don't always do well limiting myself on the peanut butter. If I dip in the spoon and close up the jar and go in another room, I'm usually OK. Right now, I've had one spoonful, and the open jar is staring at me.

Nance - peanut butter can be a red flag food for me. I grew up with us eating it by the spoonfuls. So, usually I choose to not "go there!" The thing is I associate it with family, sweet, filling, etc.

Debbie, it's the same for me. I have always eaten it by the spoonful, right out of the jar, and I grew up on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (comfort food, for sure). I think I'm going to have to stop having it, because I'm having a little more each night...

Hope you're feeling better tonight.

Kasey - Be sure and eat at least your 500 calories (so you get all your protein) or you will hold ON to the weight. Drinks LOTS of water. Surfing sounds fun! I grew up in Hawaii (left when I was 14) and never tried surfing. On vacation there both of my daughters got up and loved it!

Hi Nance - slept in quite a bit this AM. Head and sinuses feel ok, just a little nauseated with my antibiotic and my treatment plan (doc has me doing sinus irrigation daily with a drop of baby shampoo--makes me nauseated just thinking about it....but I've done it the past 2 AMs). Maybe my ENT prescribes to the old mother's adage of "keeping your nose clean" ! Ok, yucky nauseaous thought again...

Yuck! Baby shampoo? That sounds so weird. Are you using the Neti Pot? I've heard good things about that. I hope you keep feeling better.

I am playing hooky from work today... Didn't sleep much and feel headachy. It's going to be 102 in Richmond today, with off-the-charts humidity/heat index. Grateful to be inside in the AC.
