Hi Dream Warrior! I think that's a perk benefit of this thread -- I cannot wait to try the cheesey stuffed chicken that saraanne made! I still don't think I'm brave enough to try the Shirataki noodles though. What do you think of them?
2/25/10 Thur B- vanilla carbmasters yogurt w 1/2 c unsweetened applesauce + 2 tsp cinnamon S- 4 pcs turkey bacon L - chicken salad S - 12 Emerald cocoa powder covered almonds (then PUT them out of sight!) and low sugar/low calorie hot cocoa mix with Davinci Kaulua SF syrup added (so yum!) S - celery stalks w 1/3 less fat Philadelphia cream cheese (chive & onion flavor) |

Dream Warrior, glad your still around. I was starting to wonder. Enjoy your travels!
The shiritaki (sp) were really good. I didn't taste any of the funkiness that other people have talked about. As for the texture I thought it was very similar to ramen noodles. I will probably be eating these all the time now. I've been so sick the last day or so. In bed at 8pm (before my kids) feeling blah, tired and achy all over. I even left work at 10am today. I missed my vitamins yesterday, do you think that could do it. I hope not, because I'd hate to feel this way everytime I slip up and forget to take them. Aside from that because I've felt so bad I made so poor food choices today. But in the spirit of being accountable here goes: B-EAS Shake L-Skyline Chili (not to bad in and of itself) but I added some cracker barrell sharp cheddar to it. D-Pork Carnitas, a couple of tortillas chips and the killer...a margarita. I did stay away from the cookies and candy though and I guess that is a victory. In all honesty I actually feel better getting some heavy food in me. sara |

Saraanne: You'll get back soon to 100%, remember reading about me a couple weeks ago? I had a sinus infection and then got food poisoning and dehydration on top of it all and called in sick one day just needing to sleep; my body got so out of sorts being dehydrated. That's hard when in ketosis and already having to drink lots of water, then lose water from GI track and electrolytes all get out of wack! I think it REALLY is important that we take our vitamins. I have had an epiphany about dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, my leg cramps, and dehydration. So in addition to my AM vitamins of super Vit B, multivitamin, Fish/Borage/Flaxseed/Omega, an extra Vit C, I am now before bed adding a potassium pill/magnesium pill/and Zinc pill. No more leg cramps! I can feel the strain start every once in a while, but by the time an hour passes since I've taken the PM pills the cramping is finished! WHEW! Finally I am sleeping better at night. You have to consider we are limiting our food choices til we get to maintenance and in mostly protein choices we are missing out on some vitamins, etc....and flushing our bodies with water because of the ketosis!
That said, we had a birthday celebration at work yesterday, a spread of potluck items, and no official breaks for lunch due to a crazy recovery room patient schedule--so all us RNs ran all day and grabbed food here and there. 2/26/10: B-carbmaster yogurt L + all day snacks - wonderful dip a coworker made with jalopeno jelly + cream cheese + cheddar cheese (I need to figure a way to make jalopeno jelly with splenda instead so this could be Medi friendly!) Ate only 2 crackers then decided to dip with celery instead and was YUM! Also ate choc cake w/pecans (no, no, no!). Would have preferred just a little taste and have gotten a break away from patients instead! Also ate a couple TBSP chicken salad. Also caramel sundae (yikes--cannot lose eating like that!) ![]() ![]() S - chicken fillet and bun (I know, I know) Surprisingly this AM I was still in trace to small amount ketosis.Whew! I'll eat in week 1 style today and Sunday to the indulgent carb effect out of my system and decrease my weight by Monday to post on the Feb result to Susie. |

It's so hard to give up the cocoa almonds....really have to limit myself but should not have them more than a couple times a week. |

I'm here! I'm here!
![]() Hi Everyone. Work and School have kicked my butt these past few weeks. That and baby girl had back to back ear infections. Turns out she'll need surgery - but that's a story for another day. I have to start week 1 again because I fell off the wagon and abused myself with malicious eating habits. Thankfully, I recognize this and gave myself a stern talking to! So, Im back. Ready to finish the race. I have 15 pounds to go and Im not going to quit now! Today was excellent: Breakfast: 4 egg whites and coffee Lunch: grilled chicken (not sure of the grams yet - have to go home and check the label) Snack: coffee Water so far: 64 oz Dinner: TBD - I'll post that later. Exersize: 45 minute brisk walk. I feel really good today! ![]()
