I agree, Erin & Debbie, do the best you can. It is very difficult to control intake when in a strange environment. You know you can get back on plan when you get home. It's one of the best things about Medi, we learn exactly what to do when we need to.
Today I worked 12 hours. The staff brought in loads of non medi food. I resisted except for a scoopful of dip (taco seasoned cream cheese, lettuce, cheese, tomato) and some fruit (probably too much). B - boiled egg, 2 slices turkey bacon. L - baked chicken breast, lettuce salad. D - 3 oz grilled steak. S - sf jello. And, of course the extra stuff. I really need to be strictly on plan tomorrow, my next weigh in is Tuesday and then I am going out of town for 2 weeks. More about that another time.

B-2 scrambled eggs L- Strawberry Banana Smoothly D- Sloppy Joes (minus the bread of course) Total 600 protein calories 3 Mile run in 34 minutes. |

I had the most wonderful lunch today and it had NOTHING to do with the food! I met LEA! Such a fantastic woman and I know we'll be talking again, friends for sure, such a wonderful but all too brief visit! We both had a short deadline and then places we had to get to. She is BE-AU-TI-FUL inside and out!! Wish all of you could have been there too!!! ![]() |

I'm so jealous you guys got to meet for lunch! You are two of my favorite people here and so glad you found friendship in one another!
I'm so glad to be back. Feeling the vacation hangover today for sure. Just feeling icky and tired. My taste buds are all wonky from too many sweets. Doing all protein - maybe a few raw salad veggies for the next few days to clean up my diet and lots of water. Going to get some exercise in starting tomorrow - for now, enjoying some cuddle time with my boys on the couch today.

Awwh Erin - Cuddle times with your boys sounds like such a sweet time! (My girls are all grown up....I love those memories! They're now 23 and 25!) Lea and I would have loved to have had a whole bunch of us here together for lunch, and you too are one of my favs! We've been so honest here...heartfelt friend for sure! I was just thinking of you when I was on my jog/walk this AM....wondering if you're still going to Zumba classes with your friend....it sounds like so much fun! I was thinking about you because my endurance is getting so much better and I was thinking I might actually be able to do a class!! I'll have to check the Y's around here

Erin, believe me, you are one of my favs too and I would have loved it if Debbie and I could have been sitting beside you as well!! I'm glad you're back from your travels safe and sound and ready to cleanse your bod!
I also wanted to say I was sorry to hear about your family's (brother) difficulty with your success. My brother sent me an email the other day asking for a picture of his "skinny sister" to help motivate HIM!! However, I'm now catching some flack from people at work about being too thin. Four people just this week, in fact. I was gone for almost two weeks on vacation and I'm sure it's because they hadn't seen me on a daily basis. Anyway, be strong and be proud! You've worked so hard and you're THERE!!! B - turkey sausage L - chicken, cottage cheese with blueberries D - roast beef, s/f jello And because I'm UNDER on calories, I looked for the Pure Protein bars in the peanut butter flavor at Dillons about an hour ago and they were sold out! (Thanks, Debbie, for putting this in my head!) I also like the chocolate deluxe, but passed on that one cause I wanted the peanut butter. I like that I didn't have to have a substitue just because I wanted something chocolatey, chewy and sweet. It wasn't want I went for, so I just walked away. (I LOVE MEDI!!!) 45 minutes on the bike.

If you have the chance, also try the carbwell Balance bars. I just tried the peanut butter chocolate and like them better than the Pure Protein personally. Similar nutrition and texture.
I'm having a hard time getting completely back on track. Drinking water yesterday made me go down a pound so I'm moving in the right direction. It's fun to splurge but it makes it that much harder to turn it around again. B: coffee w/ sf vanilla coffeemate, blueberry protein smoothie, fiber one plus oxidant cereal S: cocoa almonds L: Boar's head lunch meat, cheese, wrapped in a lettuce leaf S: carbmaster yogurt, turkey pepperoni & cow cheese, 1/2 peach D: fajita salad S: vitatop & ice cream, 1 piece salt water taffy, 1 piece chocolate, macchiatto Total calories: 1450 Didn't work out but I REALLY need to. I'm so tired from vacation, all I want to do is sit around. |

Erin - Take a look at your "before" picture....that's what happens when you sit around! Remember? I was up late last night with DD visiting and I'm avoiding overwhelming homework today....takes up SO much time to work on discussion board stuff in grad school, projects, group projects, yuck....but I like what I'm learning. Anyways, that always ties me to the couch or computer for HOURs and HOURs
....I'm a more up and around and all over person than that naturally....usually going here and there checking on patients, etc! This AM went to Y with DD for a turbokick class, I lasted 2 mins and went to circuit and track instead ![]() |

Thanks, Debbie! NO DOUBT is my before picture a motivation for me. Thanks for the pep talk! I've been cleaning all day and catching up. Maybe a quick run on the treadmill will feel good. I just don't feel like physically going up to the gym on a weekend.
Hey Lins - I saw your post on the other thread. Are you eating enough calories when you work out? Remember to add back in 1/2 of what you burn. That may jump start your weight loss again if you up your calories just a bit. Also make sure you're drinking 128 oz of water! |

Drink TONS of water! I go through those phases too - normally with cheese and lunch meat. So high in sodium. Greek yogurt, baked fish or chicken with Mrs. Dash, raw veggies.
I finally exercised today. I have NO sitter for my 7 year old to go to the gym. My older son normally watches him for me but he's out of pocket. I ran on the treadmill this morning and did some yoga in my living room. Felt sooooooo gooooooood!!!! |
