Lea - Look at you, girlfriend! Your at home workout is doing it plenty well enough....I just want to try it for a while at the "Y" since DH has a membership due to playing racquetball. My goal is to get "fit" enough this summer to be able to join a class that I can reasonably stick with once I get my busier schedule back at work in the Fall. If I end up just going to the "Y" to continue my jog/walks on the track that would be fine too. But my goal is definitely to be Fit2010! And I've been far from that most of the past 15 years....
I hope accountability here continues! I'm planning on it! ![]()

Hang in there Jules....and just know that STRESS causes inflammation which makes you retain water.
Even just busyness from work kind of stress. Been there, done that. Plus, then as RNs we don't get to drink all the water you want because you gotta pee, and that interupts patient times, so you wait...so meanwhile you're third-spacing while due to the inflammation. Just know that you can do this, and don't be discouraged if it's slower than you'd like. The alternative is blown bad choices....the inflammation continues either way! But, eating in acute phase and staying in ketosis will help with this and your weight loss....stick with it! And drink LOTS on your days off your 12 hour shifts!Last edited by Fit2010; 06-25-2010 at 05:08 PM.. |

Erin shared with us she is taking vits, calcium, and thinking of continuing Omegas....what does Dr Cobb/Kim NP have you doing, Lea? Are you taking AS or fat burners?
Cottage cheese and blueberries together would sound good to me! Yum....that could be a weakness for me. |

No, I've never been on the AS. I'm seriously wishing for them now!! The last few weeks have just been horrible! I'm hungry and even when I'm not hungry, I just want to eat.
I'm on some over the counter fat burner - one mentioned in these threads, but I can't think of the name of it off the top of my head. I read your post about endurance, and I'm so proud of you!!! I've been biking more than walk/jogging, but I'm not sure if I could run for 75 or 90 seconds at a time. At least not one right after the other! You're doing so great!! And we're both left with the same thought - either 9 or 13 more for me too. Can't decide, but the scale isn't moving for me right now anyway.

Did they say anything about combining carbs? Alternating them with protein or with milk? I think we'll have to learn how to add fruit, that's for sure. I know that carbs make me want more carbs, especially fruits and pastas make me want more carbs.
Are you reading anything? Is there other reasons why you may be "eating"? |

My Beck Diet is here beside me, but I've actually been reading "That Crumpled Up Paper is Last Week's Homework" or something like that. I'm trying to instill some better habits for my kids, specifically my 13 year old son. As usual, I'm putting my family and their needs (or what I THINK they need) ahead of myself. I need to refocus. I'm just ready to be in maintenance so I can have the 800 to 1,000 calories of healthy food and not feel GUILTY. I've been eating about that much for the last couple of weeks, and while I haven't gained anything, I haven't had any huge losses either. Like a pound or so a week. I guess, I could eventually get to goal like this, but I just want to GET there!!!! |

Lea - I used the whole package of diet jello (would make 4 servings). So, 4 packets of plain gelatin and whole package of diet jello - may be a little pricey, but it's also all protein calories only and tastes so good....I ate like a 1/4 of the whole recipe in no time. Then later that day ate another 1/4. I left the rest in the refrigerator and try to keep it for the another day.

B: Fiber Plus w/ Antioxidants cereal, fage 0% yogurt, coffee
S: "peanut butter chocolate frappaccino" L: chicken fajitas grilled dry (no tortilla), salsa, 2 dark chocolate pieces S: carbmaster yogurt, turkey & cow cheese roll up D: turkey, cheese, and lettuce wrap (la tortilla), sf jello Exercise: interval jog/sprint on treadmill for 30 minutes (2.5 miles), weights - abs & arms Calories in: 1300 Calories out: 548 ETA: I'm eating a bit less. We have a trip to Boston coming up and I really do NOT want to come home 10 lbs heavier so I'm trying to give myself a bit of wiggle room before I go so to speak. I don't think my body likes more than 1400 calories or so. Plus I have to still drink a TON of water to keep my water retention down. My body is just used to drinking all of that water I guess. I've been out and about this last two weeks and unable to fill up my water bottle as frequently. At the minimum, I drink like... 72 ounces worst case scenario. I'll wake up and I'm bloated and my skin is all dried out. Ugh!
