All this talk about maintenance makes me nervous. I am getting close. Sounds complicated, sounds hard to do and sounds like weight can fluctuate.

That's a really good idea and it's something I want to talk to the NP tomorrow about. I truly don't think I can ever handle up to 100g of carbs. 20 or 30 sounds about right. Ya know, the tech said, "Yay you can now eat pasta" when I was leaving. Can you believe that???

As far as maintenance, I will be honest with you. Maybe for some it's much easier but to me, this week has been a roller coaster. I long for the security of my 500 calories of protein.

Well I made it to bed time. Here's my accountability which is important to me to post and get it out there... even though it makes me cringe. It began with that stupid energy drink. From then on, I pretty much ate sweets. All. Day. Long. And not even good ones!

B: Breakfast "sandwich". Egg beaters, turkey sausage link, cow cheese, 1/2 sandwich thin, 1T polaner all fruit w/ fiber
S: ricotta dessert thing w/ sf pudding mix and jello. low carb monster.
L: 1/2 pink lady apple w/ cinnamon, 2 hans chicken sausages w/ grilled onions and mustard, light vanilla soy milk w/ walden farms chocolate syrup
S: fage w/ pb2 and 2T cool whip free, SF chocolate pudding, diet dr pepper
D: hans chicken sausage

986 calories
78 carbs

D - wedding reception food - I had some raw veggies but tasted meatballs, chicken alfredo, shrimp and a tiny, teeny, weenie bite of wedding cake.

I'm over on calories, but up on control and determination.

B - yogurt
L - jello, ham, cottage cheese, almonds (I told my husband today that I'm not bringing anymore almonds/nuts in the house) He and the kids have their cookies, brownies, Fishies, ice cream, etc., and I'm not tempted at all, but the nuts are killing me. When they're gone, they're gone.
S - pizza foldover thing, almonds (see what I mean?)
D - CRAB LEGS, medi recipe low carb tortilla with spenda and cinnamon. YUM!!!

I haven't worked out yet today, but when my dinner settles a little, I think I'll split the treadmill with the bike again.

Lea, I had to ban almonds as well. Totally get that. I absolutely love them!

B: egg, chicken, cheese, green salsa in a mug - like migas without the corn tortillas!
L: chicken fajitas done dry - no goodies or tortillas
S: dark chocolate and a diet coke at the movies
D: I have no idea yet. I have 500 calories to spend and it's already 7:20. Eating only when I'm hungry and it's not allotting to very much.

I bought some sugar free syrups today. Also have those sugar free vita muffin tops that are really good and don't cause any cravings since they're super high in fiber. I'm definitely going to have one of those a day with a cup of joe or chai tea for my evening treat! If I limit that as my only sweet, I think I'll be fine.

Didn't work out but have been doing some interval training on the treadmill. Really makes me sweat!!!

Erin and Lea - I'm trying to limit my almonds....but without them I'm just not getting enough protein. I cannot eat all that other throughout the day only....need the crunch of 6 to 12 almonds or so daily. Staying limited! Erin, your breakfast sounds interesting with the green salsa, I'm going to try that one!
B - vanilla carbmaster's yogurt w/ cinnamon
L - hamburger patty on lettuce leaves, hot dog (no bun), celery, dill pickles, tiny brownie, teeny slice cheesecake sweetened with splenda, diet Pepsi at friend's home for house warming celebration
S - roasted almonds
D - romaine, a little bit of avacado and tomato, chicken (In mod ketosis before supper still)

All righty - I ended up eating 2 chicken sausages with 1/4c no sugar pasta sauce, 1T parm, all on a bed of romaine. Very very good.

I still have about 150 calories left. I'll probably just drink some coffee or make a small protein smoothie. Skipping a sweet treat since I had the chocolate at the movies.

It was good, Lea. So good I'm going to eat it for lunch today. .

Here's the plan.

B: blueberry smoothie. - in a hurry with MIL chemo and kids camp today
L: sausage on romaine
S: turkey deli meat, cheese, oopsie roll (maybe-gonna try the recipe for the first time)
D: marinated grilled chicken breast, mashed cauliflower
S: low carb vita muffin top, chai tea

I was down 2 lbs today so I guess I'm losing that water weight. Love working through The Beck Diet Solution. It's really helping me mentally.

Lea - I don't like the vanilla carbmaster's plain, so I put it in a bowl and add about 1 heaping tsp cinnamon and stir a lot. Tastes like a dessert sometimes! I have to make myself finish the entire thing cuz it's filling. And cinnamon makes your body regulate insulin better, lose wt (I've read).

Erin - What brand of pasta sauce do you like? Are these over your Sam's chicken sausages? Which version of sausage? Sounds good!

It's called Monte Bene Farm Fresh Tomato Basil and it's GOOD. 24 calories, 2 carbs, 1 fiber for 1/4 cup. I got it at Central Market. They'd probably have it at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. The sausages are Hans All Natural Chicken sausages in the roasted red pepper and garlic version and I get them at Costco. That brand is so good. They also have natural uncured hot dogs which are fantastic.

It all sounds great... except the Romaine part. I can't picture pasta sauce on lettuce. That just doesn't sound like a good pairing.

I subbed one of my meals and it won't let me edit.

I'm on a big "chicken parm" kick lately. Morningstar Farms chicken patty, fat free sharp american melted on top, sugar free pasta sauce, all on a bed of baby spinach and heated. So so yummy. I've moved from chicken fajitas to this now. lol My husband just ate my last chicken patty though. grrr.

Thanks,
Hey Jules - when I was in the clinic last week, the NP said if you're craving something sweet, try this. And she said she takes one or two of the Mama Lupe's 3 net carb torillas, cuts them into chips, sprays them with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, sprinkles cinnamon and splenda over them and bake them at 275 until they're however crispy you want, turn them over for few more minutes and crisp the other side. I didn't cut mine - I just wanted to see if I was going to like it, so I sprayed a tortilla, sprinkled the cin/splenda on it, put it in the oven and let it stay for about 12 minutes or so. I didn't even turn mine over. It was SOOOOOOOOO good!! Like Crustos from a mexican restaurant and only 60 calories and 3 carbs. Next time, I will go ahead and cut them into chip size/shapes, spray and sprinkle BOTH sized and bake them till they're reall crispy. That would be my preference. My husbsand asked for a bite and he LOVED them too!!! If you try it, let me know what you think!

I found some GREAT sliced turkey at Costco today. Man, do I loooove my Costco! Always finding new things there.

B: egg beaters/fajita chicken/cheese stick/green salsa in a mug
L: romaine topped with cheese stick, 3 oz. sliced turkey, salad spritzer dressing; carbmaster yogurt
S: choc low carb vita top, 1/2c breyers carb smart choc ice cream
D: chicken burgers, ff cheese, pasta sauce, baby spinach, miracle noodles, wine
S: protein smoothie w/ gold standard vanilla ice cream and hood ff milk

Calories: 1178
Net Carbs: 40

Exercise - I do do this every day but forget to be accountable. Did the treadmill in intervals. Sprints/walk/sprints/walk basically for 20 minutes. Then for the last 10 minutes I put it on a 10% incline and walked uphill. WHEW. Then abs and arms.

Erin - Well, girlfriend, your abd and arms are looking good! What detail do you do for them? I read not to do arms daily. But maybe you're doing light enough wts.

Did you all read about my homemade protein fudgsicles? Yum!! I decided not to make them today. I was up to 150.5 at home, probably due to the sodium from the sausages and sauerkraut - didn't eat dinner til 7:30 pm last night and had last "fudgsicle" at 9:15pm. I should stop eating earlier but yest had take total of two AS instead of only one (as I usually do).

Read about emotional stuff on June thread - what a big day today was for me!
No exercise today.

B - carbmasters (Erin...I'm SO GLAD you can get these too! They are allowed starting week one and I think they are easy, tasty, lots of protein, and fill me up, especially followed about 1/2 to 1 hour later by my usual only daily AS).
L - running errands 30 miles from home since 0800 and by 2:15 finally went to Taco Bell and got steak tiquito and gaucamole. Satisfied. Oh, and diet Dr Pepper.
D- roasted chicken-to make up to 500 calories protein for the day
S - diet jello

Consistent exercise is hard for me but I do exercise MOST days of the week. Normally simple things. To be brutally honest, I'd rather be doing a bazillion other things than exerting large amounts of energy and sweating in a room full of other sweaty, swarthy, grunting people. Just keepin' it real, folks.

I do some kind of cardio - usually treadmill because I can watch TV and time goes by quickly. Then I do weights on the circuit. Arms and back one day - legs another day. Abs every day.

Exercising is easier for me when my friend goes but the summer schedule is keeping us from hooking up. I would like to try the zumba class because I do like to dance but I'm not a fan of looking like an idiot... which is most likely what the end result would be. I do yoga at the gym too when I have time because it helps my back tremendously but I'm not a fan because I get so impatient with it. I'd so be there if they had 10 minute yoga classes but an hour takes FOREVER.

Didn't go to work today - took my coughing daughter to the doctor and she has pneumonia!!

B - egg
L - turkey bacon, tomato, lettuce wrap, s/f jello
sleeping during nap time
D - 96/4 burger on the grill, wrapped in lettuce with tomato, onion, guacamole, and cheese. I also had some sauteed mushrooms. Oh, and I finished with a WHOLE Atkins bar.

900 calories for the day - 685 from protein. Higher on carb grams than my normal, but I think I'll be okay.

20 minute walk
30 minute spinning
