Well I won't get the 3 mile walk in due to the weather so I will get on my Gazelle tonight when the girls are in bed. I'll do 45 minutes.

what do you guys count for chicken breast? I see so many different amounts regardless of where I go. Peertrainer (for 4 oz) has 110 calories , daily plate (4oz) has 120 calories, and according to medi its 140 calories for 4 oz.... what do you guys use??

Met Jerry (Jerome) this evening when I went to hear him and another gal from my Mediweightloss Clinic talk to a combo TOPS group in a town nearby--first time I met him! He looks so amazing now--can definitely tell that changing his WOE and exercise has given him the look he's wanted...he has made his own reality!

6/3/10 continued
S-roasted almonds
D-pulled pork and ate only bottom bun; also ate dill pickles, discarded the chips; Sonic diet Sprite w/strawberries

Debbie, do you still stay in ketosis after eating the bottom bun? I am assuming the bun is bread or maybe I am wrong?

I didn't even check my ketosis this AM....I'm sure I'm out with eating the bun. This was an admittance of a misstep, not an example of how to step! I've been doing this for a while (the MWL WOE) and definitely stuck with it more perfectly for the first several months or I wouldn't have had this weight loss. Don't eat the bun! I was in a mtg that started at 6:15pm, I didn't know if it would include food (did not), got done by 8:45pm, was 25 mins from home and h-u-n-g-r-y! Plus I have prediabetes, had last eaten about 2pm....blah, blah, blah. Pleaaase...follow the true MWL plan!

Debbie, thank you for clearing that up. Sometimes I worry that newbies see your plan and think it's also acceptable for them. I wonder if you put something in your signature to prevent confusion?

nsjx & erin - after I wrote to nsjx this AM I checked and yet after 2 cups of coffee, 2 glasses of water and 1/2 of pure protein bar I WAS in trace ketosis. Again....follow your clinic plan, not my eating log! I'm on a journey through some issues with my body (post surgery from 3 years ago) and my emotions right now, so I'm still on the way down the scales but just purposely traveling a little slower as I work things through.

I think this is just a reminder to just not compare ourselves to others no matter what because you just don't know what they are going through, or how food effects them. You have to learn what works for you, and stick with that. Comparing yourself to others just gets frustrating.......She ate "this" so I SHOULD be able to, because she's lost a "lot" of weight......or whatever. That is just us trying to justify food again and that's a bad habit to get into. Personally I am really just trying to figure out what works for me so that I can live with this WOE for the rest of my life, it doesn't matter what others eat, or what others numbers look like. It's about me!

Thanks for the support Lins. Saw a nursing student that I had last Fall in Walmart this evening as we were both shopping....she said I looked great, had last seen me 38 lbs heavier! (I was her ICU instructor).

L: Hans sausage, mashed cauli, zucchini
S: Blueberry smoothie made w/ 1/2c fage yogurt and 1/2 scoop whey protein
D: Miracle Noodle "alfredo" w/ chicken, rasberries
S: small square of dark chocolate, light string cheese

Total calories: 859
Total carbs: 51g

Clinic told me that increasing my carbs will mean an increase in water retention and to be prepared for that. So I'm fighting it and keeping my water at 128 oz. I've done terrible this week about exercise so I'll be bumping that up starting today. Saw an old friend on facebook and oh my word - she has completely transformed her body through exercise. Talk about fat loss and muscle gain! WOW. I'm totally motivated to get stronger!

I was sending my family to the lake house on Beaver last Thursday when I changed my mind about going and went along! I ate pretty good all weekend tho tasted some high carb foods. Stayed in ketosis, swam like a fish, skied every day and walked/climbed the hills. There was no scale there so couldn't monitor, but weighed when I got home and was only a couple of pounds up from last week. I'm always heavier in the afternoon anyway. I'm curious to see what tomorrow brings and I'll be glad to get back into the swing of things.

ERIN!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so happy for you!!

B - cottage cheese, s/f jello, peanut butter
S - egg, cheese
L - beef jerkey, cabbage salad, okra, sunflower seeds
S - turkey burger, 1/2 Adkins bar, 1 square dark chocolate

50 minute spin session

Thanks Lea!!

B: Egg beater/turkey sausage/lc cheese burrito on Mama Lupe Tortillas, blackberries, coffee w/ almond milk
L: Miracle noodles w/ tomato sauce, hans chicken sausage, sauteed onions, parmesan
D: homemade chicken fajita salad
S: pb2/chocolate protein smoothie, cocoa almonds, sugar free popsicle, square dark chocolate (boy I was craving choc!)

Total calories: 997
Total carbs: 42

I wasn't very good with my water yesterday and boy can I feel it. I hate being puffy.

I'm starting to really enjoy Medi maintenance rather than the Weight Watchers simply filling technique. I will miss my protein shakes and sausage too much. Plus I hate fat free cheese! Medi is fine with me - I'm just a cookbook kind of girl and need a resource for that. South Beach comes pretty darn close so I bought some cookbooks last night and am going to experiment. Hungry Girl has some fun things also although I do need to watch the carbs on both of those! Always a battle, I swear. Meal planning is difficult now that I'm trying to be more creative. It certainly was easier when I could just make the family whatever and sit down with my 2-3 oz. of chicken slices.

Hey girls,
I have been looking at the pictures I had developed from my 35 mm film....sorry I cannot post them....they are of me in jeans and black bra! Wow! The huge fat tire around the abd/back/sides is gone! My neck looks better. I can now really see that I don't look like that any longer. I had avoided the camera otherwise all during the past 9 months---Yikes! There is one picture of me but I've got my eyes closed. I'll have to dig around for photos from last summer when my daughter and I vacationed to have them be my BEFORE photo....will take a while to look for them, I was probably in 180's in those photos. The photo in my avatar is from about 3 summers ago when I visited Palo Dura Canyon in TX about 3 wks prior to my mastectomies and I was about high 170's.

I'm motivated now to go on for another 10 lbs loss. Thinking of rebooting my self. I've been in trace ketosis til last night but was really hungry yesterday in the evening as I'd put off dinner til so late. Think I'll do a week of week one all over again. Wish me luck! Unforturnately started this AM with a pure protein bar already prior to this self commitment. Keep me accountable girls, I'm going for it! Don't want to be passed up by Erin AND Lea to get to maintenance so well without me!
Thanks!

Im having a very hungry day today. I had a laughing cow wedge (35) and an atkins bar (130) in the morning and have some mashed cauliflower to eat at lunch, but I am probably going to need to add something to it. Tonight is miracle noodles and FF hebrew national hot dogs.

Debbie, I'm definitely lowering my goal to 150. I'll update my stats soon. After eating more calories at the lake than I normally would, I'm HUNGRY today too! I had my egg for breakfast and am also committed to eating pretty much week one for a few days just to get my body back on track. I'm feeling so motivated by Erin's success, that I can taste my own!! Let's do this, girl!! I'll check in with you again later today!

I hate those hungry days. Definitely made for miracle noodles. Drink tons of water with crystal light! Plain sparkling water with crystal light also fills me up big time!

And I saw your post about the night time eating. I think that's probably something you're going to have to ask your doctor about. I know there are support groups for that as well. I'm sorry you're going through that - that has to be horribly defeating.

I've upped the exercise to 50 minute spin sessions and two days in a row, it's felt great. I still have arms and abs today. I also went for a walk with the dog and my husband - but just a mile and not fast. My husband, who is an excellent skier, hurt his back this weekend.

B - egg, almonds
L - turkey dogs, sauerkraut, jello, cheese stick
S - yogurt, celery and more dang almonds
D - turkey meatballs, cottage cheese, cabbage salad

Spinning, walking

S: "frappaccino" of almond milk, dulce da vinci syrup, starbucks via decaf

Total calories: 943
Total carbs: 40

So far so good. My appetite is coming back though and I'm having to watch portion sizes. I could've eaten more if I had let myself. According to the medi materials, I'm not keeping with the 40/40/20 ratio. My fat is around 30 instead of 20... probably because of the almonds I guess because I'm not adding butter or oil to anything? I'm still trying to keep my diet a bit higher on the protein side. As my diet changes, I'm having issues with constipation which is strange considering I'm upping my carbs and fiber. Uggggh.

Goal this week: Figure out the new Wii Fit I bought yesterday & try more new recipes.

Random thought of the day - I'm totally addicted to those stupid atkins endulge bars. lol

I've figured out how to make them last though. I freeze them, put one in a little sandwich baggy, and pound the heck out of them so they're in little pieces. Then I store it in a freezer and eat one bit at a time so I can have a little sweet fix throughout the day.

Well those mousse bars Lea turned me onto are pure evil! They remind me of when I used to work in an office and get a three musketeers bar and a diet coke. lol If you drink a diet coke with it, it will fizz in your mouth.

Ya, it's the little things in life I guess. I'm weird. :P

I'm discovering all these things that I get "addicted" to. It makes me sad that I can't have things like that in the house and be normal. Am I the only one like that? Those cocoa almonds are something I never should have brought home. I think I might have a nut sensitivity because I can't stop with those things and no matter how few I have, my tummy is always bloated after I eat them.

thats a great idea erin... or you can sprinkle some on FF cool wHip (family guy reference...)

I have some atkin caramel nut rolls that are too high in cals so I need to eat them half at a time. Freezing them helps. The only ones that I can do in one meal are caramel chew bars.

Erin, do you have AIM? you have a similar weight loss goal to me (well, my ultimate goal is 130) and maybe we could stay in touch

Tee hee. I put them in the fridge and cut them into little slices like they do at the clinic when they let you sample their bars. I've cut them down to as small as about 20 calories per piece and put them in a little baggie. I love them cold!!

Erin - the almonds are just too yummy. I made the mistake a month or so ago of buying the jarred container instead of the 100 calorie packs and they were just waaaaaaay to easy to get into. I'm going to go ahead and buy some more of those tonite at Target, but only the packs. I usually eat about 4 almonds at a time and call that 25 calories. I've never actually counted to see how many are in there, cause frankly, if I see them, I'll probably eat them.

Weigh in tomorrow. I KNOW I'm not down this week, but I'm hoping I didn't GAIN! Erin, I'm still so thrilled for you. I'm trying to muster up even a little bit of jealousy, but I just don't feel it. I just feel happy for you!!

Thank you so much Lea! I still feel like I'm teetering on the edge of failure for some reason. Just waiting for it to set in I guess.

Best of luck on the weigh in! You are working so hard, there's no way you haven't lost!

Erin ~ my weight bounced up a few pounds when I started adding in more food. It came down soon after. Don't worry too much. You aren't gaining fat at 1,000 calories a day... just a little water retention from the increased carbs, plus the weight of the additional foods.

I have my once a month maintenance appointment on Friday morning. I have been down 4 pounds from where I was this morning, but I am having a crazy stressful week & while I haven't been eating any differently, my weight is up... but still below goal, so I can't be too upset! Stress makes a body do crazy things!!!

I missed several days of posting in and out because we were at the lake, and even tho I did pretty good, I wasn't perfect. Today, I'm back on track, and in fact, just added up my totals and I'm at 505 protein calories/570 total for the day.

B - turkey sausage
L - ham, cheese stick, celery
S - yogurt, 1/2 Atkins bar, cottage cheese
D - small medi friendly pizza foldover thingy

I did some speed walking at work today, but haven't gotten on the bike or treadmill tonite. It's only 6:00 - there's still hope, but I'm so tired today and I really don't feel all that great. My summer schedule went into effect today and I had to get up before 6:00. If I had my way, I'd roll out of bed every day around 9:30!!
