fruit or vegetable
I am on my fourth week and am wondering if pumpkin is considered a fruit or vegetable while on MWL?

If you are speaking in a botanical, scientific context, then pumpkin, tomato, capsicum, cucumber, tomato and squash are FRUITS because they all have seeds. If you are speaking in culinary terms, they can all be properly called VEGETABLES.
However, pumpkin is not on the list of approved fruit or vegetables for the acute phase, at least that I am aware of. Jo |

Thank you so much for the replies. I went in for my mid-week shot and talked to the doctor. He told me I am able to eat it 2x a day if made medi appropriate, such as using the MWLC website recipes. I did the pumpkin casserole twice in one day and the next morning I was still in ketosis. To stay on the safe side i will only eat it once a day. There are plenty recipes I have yet to try. Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day. ![]() |
