Miracle Noodles: Any Side Effects?

Long time reader, first time posting. Been on medi since Friday, January 22 and in the past week and a half, I've lost over 20 pounds. A great deal of progress and learning... But if anyone's reading and wondering - Medi-Weightloss really does work if you stick to the plan with a little discipline.

Late last week I ordered 10 packages of the angel hair Miracle Noodles. They arrived today, and for dinner, I prepared a shrimp alfredo using them and the Walden Farms alfredo sauce.

Simply stated, it was great. I actually feel like I over-ate, which is a bit odd... But now I'm wondering...

Are there any "side effects" to the brand name Miracle Noodles (or shirataki)?

I realize that many can't get past the texture, packaging liquid smell, etc. I'm not one of those people. I really like them, but can't help but think that feeling this full or satisfied after a meal is coming at a cost of some sort.

Do these cause stomach / digestive problems like sugar alcohols can? Do they take a while to digest, causing you to feel bloated, slow weight loss, etc?

I'm really curious to hear back from others who have tried these noodles and thank everyone for creating such a great community I immediately felt part of and welcome in.

I eat them all the time and have never had an issue with them. I do restrict myself to just one package. My husband just started eating them too and does just fine.

Thanks Susie! I had seen in other threads that you had a number of suggestions with them, and was hoping you'd lend some thoughts.

Here is a thread all about Miracle Noodles. And for me, they are a no go. Cannot get past the texture.

Gagging is the only side effect I experienced...


If you can and do enjoy eating them, then more power to you...they are a great product
