Well, I began mwl on dec. 22nd. I managed to lose 12lbs in my first week! I fell off plan pretty bad on new years eve/ new years
day, but am back on the 500cals of meat again. Trying my best to get back into ketosis, bur I haven't been able to yet. I'm just wondering if it could be the cheese i've been eating? My center said cheese was fine during the first week and to count it as part of the protein for the day, but could the cheese be what's causing me to not be able to get back into ketosis? I ate cheese the first week and got into it just fine. I'm just having a hard time now.

I might not be the best person to answer this, since I just started on Thursday, but I've had cheese or yogurt every day and was in Ketosis when I tested today.

I think the whole ketosis thing is overrated. If you are eating right and you don't have cravings and you are losing weight, it's all good. I don't think I've ever seen the sticks change like they were supposed to, but I drink tons of water and supposedly the diluted urine keeps it from showing much. I dunno. I can tell the low carb WOE works though, because I go from being a carb maniac to being indifferent about them.

I meant I think trying to measure it is overrated. Of course if you are burning fat, you need ketosis, it's like... the same thing! LOL

Hi Raven, This is a board specifically for Medi Weight Loss and ketosis is something that the physicians at our clinic do test for and recommend monitoring.

Cassy- I don't think it is cheese unless you are eating a crazy amount of the pre-shredded cheese (that is coated with a flour-y stuff). But you would have to eat a TON!

When are you testing? 1st thing in the morning? I have found that if I test at other times it may show up negative. For example, after I exercise I always show up as negative because my muscles have been using those ketones as fuel, so they never make it to my urine.

Hang there and follow week 1 guidelines! You'll get back on track soon :)
