Bre,
I am so proud of you too! You are getting so close. Isn't it amazing how many of us have been able to reach maintenance on this program? And so many of us had such long journeys. This program is truely amazing and you too are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing!!!:kicking::clap: |
2.2 pounds down during the holiday week! I'm over 40 pounds gone now! Whoo Hooo!
|
Thanks SO much for the congrats everyone. It seems like each time I cross a new level it blows my mind. 40 pounds seemed like SO much when it happened, then 50, then 60.. can't believe I'm down over 90 pounds.. that is just crazy. My DH tells me all the time that he is so proud of me.
Bre- I'm THRILLED for you!!!!!!! 50 pounds down already! You and I are going to be chasing each other to goal :) Gotta run for now.. I'm in Atlanta visiting family and since I have 91 less pounds of fat to keep me warm, I'm freezing my skinny buns off! :) LOL |
Hello all
I decided to change my avatar today. I changed it to 40 lbs without thinking. I did some math and I was shocked that I have lost 50 lbs! I wasnt really paying too much attention to the amount of weight loss but was more fixated on what I was eating. I have to say I have been ready to give it up this whole past week. It was a struggle each day. i am glad Bre inspired me to change my avatar as now I am realizing the so-called struggle is worth it! Each of you here is a true gem and always an inspiration to me. Thank you! |

Susie, Thank you! Your recipes, kind words and your story really have helped me along the way! Jessica- Lol! I think a nice warm coat will do the trick :) Can't wait to be in maintenance with you! Nich- Way to go!!! 50lbs since October is amazing! It is nice being in the 50 lb club with you ;) |
*.*Last Call for November Weight Loss Stats*.*
Okay group, here is the last call for weight loss stats for November. I have gotten everyone from the November thread and the 3 pms I received. There really aren't that many of you reporting...so the list may be a little shorter than usual.
I will post the stats on Sunday, 06Dec09. Jo |
Bre, Shanlock, Thank you so much.
|
Hey all do you have any medi friendly foods, drinks or recipes that are fit for the holiday season. My family, friends, and I LOVE Christmas and it is normally full of tamales, fudge, and caramels. Not this year! Any ideas for things that will bring the same holiday joy without making us look like santa? No offense santa but I prefer red leggings to pants and they just do not look good with a big butt haha... Please Help!

Hey Nick - when I started getting closer I sometimes lost sight of my goal - I encourage you to stick with it and not expect any less of yourself than you did at the onset of the program. You have done incredibly well - keep up the great work!
|
Bre - congrats! What a wonderful milestone to hit! 50 pounds! I bet you feel like a new person!
Annie - Congrats to you! Over 40 since August is great!!! Nick - Happy to see your new avatar! Way to go!!! |
It is important not to lose sight of goal.
Kate, I honestly do look like a different person and did not even realize it until my clinic showed me my before pictures last night! I talked with my clinic last night about possible lowering my goal weigt to 150. I feel like I can get there and if I have worked this hard I know I can work for the extre 10lbs. My clinic told me something important... We will not focus on that until I reach goal. At one point I dreamed of being 160 lbs and could only imagine what I would look like when I got there. When I reach 160lbs I need to celebrate that I have met my original goal- and then can start thinking if I want to lose more. My clinic said that it is important that I take the time to celebrate how far I have come once I hit goal! How many of you have changed your goal weights? Any advice on what it was like to keep pushing through after you already reached "goal"? |
~Malloryann11~In the Dinner recipe thread, I added a lot of recipes for Thanksgiving that will work just as well for Christmas, and I also added a chocolate fondue recipe in the dessert thread. Susie's cheescake bites are good for any season as well.

Weighed in this morning at 247! Started late last year at 493! 1/2 pound from being half the man I used to be! Since January 6th, 2009 I have dropped 239 pounds! 2% from being in normal range of Fat% (24% - men = 11% - 22%). Waist is 39.5" Yeah, I'm pumped!:high5::kicking:

One thing you should take into consideration in picking your goal weight is what weight can you easily maintain. I picked a range for a goal weight between 155 and 160 which puts me in an 8/10/medium size range. The 5 pounds gives me some wiggle room and the 160 is my alarm to go back to acute. Besides the number on the scale you need to also consider your body fat / muscle weight. Everytime I go to the doctors and they weigh me they always start out at 100 pounds and start sliding the secondary weight towards 150, thinking that I am under 150 pounds. I always catch them right away and say you need to start at 150 and they say "You sure had me fooled." I think this is because I exercise and have muscle mass. Sure I would like the way 125 pounds sounds, but more important to me is what I look like, what I can maintain, and how I feel. For what it's worth, my 2 cents! BTW, Bre I just love your positive, uplifing attitude. You, Jessica, Robyn, Jerry, Nick, etc., etc., Jo, Macauley, and all my maintenance buddies help me to maintain. Maintenance requires work too, so the inspiration we get from this sight is just as important to us. Maintenance is just the beginning of the rest of my life. This will be a life long journey. |
Bre - I think your clinic gave you great advise! So often we change our goals without celebrating what we have accomplished! I changed mine - and may still go for five more as this weight 'settles' on me (it settled right in my thighs : ).
I am going to wait to see how working out and weights change me - it's not a weight I want now - it's being firm and toned... You are really doing a great job! |
