Just wanted to share...woke up this morning and weighed myself. 10 weeks into maintenance AND 176.8 on the home scale. I have NEVER EVER EVER in my whole adult life not gained at least 10 pounds through the holiday season. Folks-this WOE is absolutely the BEST!!!

Happy New Year to all of my fellow losers! May you all reach and maintain your goal weights in the coming year. El

Thanks so much, FTB! I rummaged through our pantry last night after I posted and found some EAS Whey protein powder that my husband had bought. Brilliant minds think alike!
That stuff is not half bad in a blender with a little ice. It was a little like a frosty or something. Oh wow- congratulations on your success!!!!

About the daily plate website...I like it, but I don't like the limits it has set for what they consider to be "low calorie". Can anyone recommend a site that is not so restrictive? I guess they are just trying to avoid the "pro-ana" crowd, but I wish they would just set a weight range or something that would keep those of low weight from being able to use it.

What I would like is a site that allows me to enter food, track my weight loss, and encourage me along with how many calories I am burning with my deficit. It would really help motivate me.

I like the weight loss planner from obesity help dot com; I just wish it was incorporated into a website.

Congratulations Fit2b50!! And thank you for the protein tips...I'll have to get a couple of the shakes and "shots" this weekend.

Thank you for the welcome everybody!

Hope you all have a safe and wonderful New Year celebration!

2010 I WILL be fit (for a change!) It's getting to be a health concern for me and I want to reverse the impending inevitable problems of being 190. Watch me get to 140!
I thank you for all your advice, encouragement, and great example!

Debbie

mommy-2-girls- YOU LOOK AWESOME! And I hope it helps you feel better to know I had my gallbladder out on 10 days ago and I feel fantastic. The worst was the day after surgery and I just started to feel better each day after. I am already walking 3 miles and doing light stretching. Just no running yet or any heavy lifting. Good luck to you! You will do just fine!
Bre- thanks for posting. Had the surgery yesterday and feel horrible today. It can only go up from here

Happy New Year to all you losers!!

Just my experience, I did not use any other website...although I know some do. I just tracked PROTEIN calories...this is what the Charlotte center preaches and it worked great for me! If you just counted your protein calories AND only ate the allowable veggies with the occasional fruit--you will be successful! OK-I know other clinics do it differently BUT if you really are struggling to track calories, this is quick and easy!

I'm so glad you found some EAS. You should look at PB2-It's a powdered peanut butter. Great Taste! I add it to the EAS chocolate shake-delicious. Another favorite for me, FAGE plain yogurt with either Walden Farms Chocolate and PB2 on top OR Walden Farms Carmel, a little cinnamon and literally 4 smashed walnuts on top--Delish! Other fast favorites-Hormel Turkey Pepperoni-17 slices-70 calories all good protein. I'd buy RF cheese in a block-cut 8 little pieces-match up with 2 slices of pepp and a little mustard. Pretty much lived on this some weeks...still do. Find the foods that you REALLY like and return to them when you are pressed for time.

One thing I see-you want to see calories burned so you can build a deficit. Don't rely on a website. Discuss with your clinic. Even if you burn an extra 250, they are NOT going to recommend replacing those 250...

Hang in there. It definitely becomes easier over time. With three little one, you might want to take an hour a week and plan out the whole week in advance. Plan the foods, buy the foods, prep the foods. I'll be watching your success!!! El

Hey all! Happy New Year to everyone, I hope that 2010 brings about even more success to each and every one of you! Its amazing how much we've achieved in 2009!!

I wanted to let you guys know that I closed out 2009 around 71 pounds lighter, and I was in the paper here in Charlotte for the Medi Ad, and someone notified me yesterday that I was in the TV ad on the local ABC affiliate during the Oprah show! How hilarious!! That's the closest i'll ever be to "being on Oprah" but i thought it was fun nonetheless! I haven't seen it, and have no clue what i said or what it looked like, I just know it ran during the Oprah show the other day. I'm going to try to set up my DVR for tomorrow and Monday during Oprah to see if I can catch it. There was another lady on this board that was there for the shoot as well, I haven't heard from her on here to see if she's seen it and if everyone who was there made it, or they did snippits? Anyway, just wanted to say thank you to all of you for all of the support, I love this WOE and I love this board, and I'm so proud of ALL of us for doing what so many struggle to do -- losing weight and keeping it off, I know we will keep it off in 2010 and beyond!!

A favorite meal at our home is Curry Chicken and Rice....tonight I made my portion without the rice. Instead of adding 3 TB of flour to make the "gravy" I just added 1/2 TB at first, put in about 2 tsp curry powder into about 1/2 cup chicken broth and onion and let the already grilled chicken soak in all the curry flavor. Yum! Then I took my portion out and added the extra flour to make my husband's portion. His portion was then served over white rice. I know I will have to adapt food I really like in order to make this work.

I had no problem today getting all the water in. And, in fact, I didn't take any appetite suppresant today. I think the all meat/no carb diet is making my hunger less. It's also making me thirsty!

Congratulations Babyboyst! You're a celebrity! More importantly, you're now a healthier mom to your family. How awesome that they can grow up learning to eat healthy from the examples you will set from here on out!
