Every day is just another new adventure! Went to walmart this afternoon and bought me a pair of jeans. Took them home and tried them on and guess what! The size 42 reg fit! I just feel the need to share with everyone I run into! I was sitting in the sauna this morning after jogging a mile, weightlifting and an hour spin class when a guy walked in who was upper 3's or low 4's and once the steam stopped I just started with...It's always good to end a workout in here! He agreed and I then went on to say that it is hard to believe that last Christmas I had a very hard time getting around at almost 500 pounds and off we went....10 minutes later there were 5 guys all sitting around talking about how I did it! At Wal-Mart the check out lady asked why I had 2 different sizes of jeans (I got a 44 in case the 42 was too tight) and I told my story and 2 sets of people behind me wanted to know more! SWEET! I love it. I had another person get on my blog and said she was inspired by my story and has decided to quit smoking! Awesome!

Had to fix it! The mis-spelled "bought" was driving me crazy!

hi everyone, congrats to everyone, you are all amazing. I was hoping someone would know the name of a fat burner that was talked about in a previous thread. I remember it was sold at sams.( I think) . It was supposed to be very close to the medi fat burner, but cheaper. Having a real hard time Sticking with medi now that schools back in and tuition payments rolling in. This is the first year i have to in private school, never thought that it would be so hard once my youngest started school to.

Thought I needed to share this with everyone- especially the women. I went for my week 2 weigh-in on Thursday and was up half a pound (lost 8.5 week 1). I have been in ketosis since the middle of week one and have followed the plan to a T. Thursday also happened to be day 1 of TOM. I wasn't surprised not to see a big loss because of water retention but was dissappointed to see a gain! HOWEVER I was down 6-1/2 lbs of fat since the previous week! and up 5-1/2 lbs of water. Thank goodness for the Tanita scale to show us the difference in water weight. I HOPE the loss shows up in the big picture next week. I am down 11 lbs of fat in 2 weeks so I have to focus on that, not that my weight is up since the week before. I also need to concentrate on drinking ALOT of water!

Good luck to everyone this week!

I need some help from my Recipe gurus!!! We are going to a covered-dish on Friday night and the theme is "mexican/fajitas". We have been assigned an appetizer. The girl who is coordinating suggested a 7 layer dip, but obviously that is not so medi-friendly.

Help!! What is a Medi-friendly Mexican appetizer? I will probably bring 2 apps, 1 I can eat and 1 that is for everyone else, but I would like them both to be super-yummy. Any ideas??

6.5 pounds of fat is a lot! I had my weigh in today and was up .5 but down 1.8 pounds of fat. Dissappointing, but I've had a couple of good weigh ins in a row. You must be ecstatic over that much fat lost. Nice job!

Low Carb Mexican Devilled Eggs Recipe - Low Carb

or how about the following...

4 Cheese Mexican Tortilla Appetizers Recipe
4 Cheese Mexican Tortilla Appetizers Recipe by gagxo | ifood.tv only use an oopsie roll as the tortilla, go very light on the refried beans and use reduced fat or fat free cheese.

or try the crustless quesadillas, and cut them into triangular pieces

Crustless Chicken Quesadilla

In a small Teflon skillet melt ˝ cup mozzarella cheese until the cheese is melted. Once melted move the skillet off the burner. Spread 1 teaspoon of fat free sour cream and 1 teaspoon of salsa over the cheese. Add 2 oz warmed grilled chicken breast strips (like Perdue Short Cuts), grilled onions, grilled peppers, grilled mushrooms, or whatever you would normally put on a quesadilla over half of the cheese. Let the cheese set, then fold over like an omelette and serve. The cheese should be lightly browned on the outside and soft on the inside. The cheese acts as the crust.

And the following recipe was in the Sunday paper coupon circular and looks like it might fit the bill...

Frank's RedHot Buffalo Chicken Dip

Prep Time: 5 min. Bake Time: 20 min. Makes about 4 cups.

1 8oz pkg fat free cream cheese, softened
2 cans (9.75 oz. each) canned chicken breast in water
1/2 cup any flavor Frank's Redhot sauce
1/2 fat free blue cheese salad dressing
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (you may want to leave this out to keep the calories down)

Assorted fresh vegetables

1. Stir cream cheese in deep baking dish until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients.
2. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 min. until hot and bubbling. Stir. Serve with vegetables.

I plugged all the ingredients into Daily Plate except for the blue cheese crumbles.
Per 1/4 cup serving / 50 cals/ .5g fat/ 3.56g carb/ 3.5g prot/

And there are even more mexican appetizer recipes at

I hope this gives you some ideas. Let us know what you end up making and how it turns out.

I really haven't been feeling well the past few days but especially today. I'm really hoping it's not the flu! (which I feel like I am bound to get since I am a kindergarten teacher and all the kids are coughing and sneezing!!) I tried my hardest and got all my calories in yesterday, but today I just feel so nauseaus I can't even really eat anything. Does anyone have any suggestions to how to get in all your calories in a little amount of food??? I'm afraid of my body going into "starvation mode" if I don't eat enough but I really just can't force it all down.

Jerry,

You have such an amazing story to tell and Medi would be crazy not to use it. You have come such a long way and I cannot believe you are so close to accomplishing your dream. When you first blogged on here I thought, boy he has a big road ahead of him. I hope he sticks with it. Well, you did and I couldn't be happier. You deserve every good thing that comes your way. Not only did you do this for you, but you have inspired a very special group of people that probably could not see their possibilities, who thought that they were too far gone and had given up. Not to be dramatic, but you could very well have saved a life or two by telling your story. I have already said this over and over Jerry, but you are amazing.

Wear those goosebumps with pride! Jarid, move over... here comes Jerry.
