Thanks for the well wishes everyone! I miss you guys but I'm feeling INSPIRED listening to how well you are all doing!

I hope to be back in the swing of things next week, but I'm not looking forward to stepping on that scale! YIKES! After an entire week of being pampered by my husband, it is NOT going to be pretty - I have probably gained it all right back! BUT that's ok! I can and WILL get this off, despite any setbacks!

Glad to hear that you're doing better!! We're here for you when you're ready to get back into the grove!!

I have mixed emotions regarding your hubby... On the one side, Boo! to him for spoiling your diet! Yet - Yay! for him for pampering you!! LOL!!

Also- one other question for everyone- where do you buy low carb tomato sauce?

Thanks!!
Sorry I am so late in replying... I missed this somehow. I would try adding some guar gum or xanthan gum to thicken up the sauce. I did this with the sesame chicken and it worked like a charm.

You can always order the low carb spaghetti sauces online. Go to one of the low carb food sites. I have a hard time finding many low carb products in the grocery stores. I can find some, but not many.

I'm BACK! Oh yeah! I'm back and feeling MUCH MUCH better! Thanks for all of the pm's, emails, and more! I really appreciate your concern and well wishes!

Oh my - if I could explain to you what I learned about myself this week, I would!!! It was AMAZING to me to go back to my old eating habits. After almost 4 weeks on the Medi program, I spent a week in bed surrounded by my old favorites. I had Krispy Kreme, Chic Fil-A, Pizza, and even Halloween candy. And guess what??? I MISSED MY MEDI FOOD! I know this is going to sound crazy, but I'm so glad I got the flu! It gave me the opportunity early on in my new WOL to realize that all of the things I thought I "missed" or thought I "craved" aren't all that. I ate my favorite things and thought "well, that wasn't a big deal". I ate crappy food for a week and my body feels SO SLUGGISH and NASTY. I don't have the energy I had before, I don't feel as (for lack of a better word) crisp as I did. Last night when we ordered pizza, I didn't even eat any - I just didn't want it!

So what I learned is that I don't and WON'T miss out on those foods. I didn't crave bread and didn't even want any - EVEN WHEN I HAD GIVEN MYSELF PERMISSION TO EAT IT! This has given me a whole new outlook and a new lease on life! I can't WAIT to go to the clinic tomorrow morning and find out what my new weight is. I'm sure I regained some weight, but I put on my "test" pair of pants today (they were tight when I started and fit perfectly in week 3) and they still fit me very well. I look forward to re-starting on week 1 this week and getting back into the swing of things.

The one other thing I realized this week is how important it is to make this CONVENIENT. When I didn't feel like getting up and cooking, I quickly ran out of options for staying on plan. I need to restructure my pantry, refridgerator, and freezer to insure that I ALWAYS have options that are just as quick and easy as fast food. There are times when I don't feel like, or am not able to cook and I don't want those times to be my downfall again.

Overall, I feel a renewed sense of purpose and I'm so excited to be back - living life the Medi way!!! I know I'll feel better in a matter of days!

Girl you know I saw those recipes! I'm about to order some Torani syrups and I'm going to start working this out! I'm not a fan of the Medi shake, so I think I'm going to use the EAS shake and start experimenting. I don't feel like I need a thick milkshake, so I think I'll be good just adding the flavor to the shakes - but you know me - ALWAYS up to try something else!

And girl, I can't WAIT to be back on the wagon! COME ON TOMORROW!

I am totally going to SuperWal mart in the morning to get the stuff for the pumpkin shake! That might be my lunch... or I am going to yoga tomorrow so I'll have like 500 calories to replace from exercise, so I might just replace some of them with that! Can't wait to try it

I'm STRUGGLING this time around. I'm hungry, irritable, and not motivated at all to keep this up. Maybe THIS is what carbs do to you - I'm trying to remind myself that I am detoxing from all the crap I put in my body last week, but honestly, all I want is CHOCOLATE! LOL I'm staying strong, but I'm surprised that I feel so UN-motivated. That's so unlike me.

It could also be due to the fact that I am sick again. I can't believe I relapsed, but the doctor thinks I may have gone back to work too quickly and over-exerted myself. I'm so SICK of being sick and feeling miserable! I'm ready to get back to being the usual happy, bubbly, upbeat JENNIFER.

Sorry you're still not feeling good. :-( After a month, chocolate does start to look REALLY good. I just had a chocolate mocha whey protein shake with sf hazelnut syrup. It was really yummy and seems to satisfy my chocolate cravings. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry you are struggling! Are you taking the AS? I had stopped taking it for a while and when I had to start traveling so much for work I started taking it again and it does really help.

So sorry you are still still! No fun!

Hang in there! You CAN do this!

Thanks Sharon & Kate! I'm going to go to the doctor tomorrow. 4,000 people have died with this flu so I need to make sure I'm really ok.

I'm not taking the AS - maybe that's part of it. I will say that the chicken broth has helped A LOT! Today has been a little better. I bought these sundried tomato chicken sausages at Trader Joe's and they are SO GOOD! I love them!

Okay, totally off topic, but I just want to put it out there that Im super crazy busy and I could use a little good luck sparklies sent my way! I have work, and then I have a paper due, and then I have like 15 assignments due by Friday.... I really dont know how Im going to get this all done this week! Lets just talk about Stress... I've been working on this paper for about two weeks now, and its not done... I really want to finish it today and just hand it in. But my brain is mush... mush I tell you!!

Im soo close to graduating, I have 21 credits left to finish and Im ready to quit!! Its just too much!! Then I look at my children and remember that Im doing this for them... I just wish I had the motivation to sit and finish my work!

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent... you guys are the best! :-) Now, back to work.. hehehe.

You can do this! I feel the same way - I'm SICK of school, but I know that it will be worth it soon! Just think about how much EXTRA time you'll have once you graduate!

Also, being busy helps keep you from being hungry!

LOL!! Yes, being busy distracts from eating... however, being stress creates desires for chocolate! LOL!!

But I'll have non of that.

So, I did NOT finish my paper. But, expect it to be done today.

Hope everyone has a blessed day!!!

And DONT forget to journal, journal, journal!

So I have my week 4 weigh in tomorrow and I am not that confident about it. I didn't cheat at all this week but there were a few days that I was really under my calories because I wasn't feeling well and didn't feel like eating. I have also been showing in the small range in ketosis which is strange because my first 3 weeks I was in the moderate to large range. The only thing I ate different this week was cauliflower and blueberrries. Do you think that could be kicking me out of ketosis? And how do I get back in???

I snuck a peak at my home scale this morning and it said I've only lost .5 pounds

We will see tomorrow I guess but I have a feeling that it's not gonna be a good one.

Rochelle, think positive! I don't know the science behind it, but I do know that they tell you to make sure you get your calories in! Even if you have to drink a protein shake or eat a Medi-bar to get a quick 100 or so, it's worth it! You don't want to go through all of this for nothing! Good luck tomorrow!

Don't be discouraged! I remember your first week you were upset because you didn't lose more than you did, but you have had REALLY good losses the past two weeks! I know I may have lost 8 lbs the first week, but every week since then it has only been 2 or 3 lbs. Even if you don't have as big a loss as you have been having, remember that you are going in the right direction and that just means that you will have a bigger loss next week!

Well just as I thought it was bad news at my weigh in Not even an ounce.. I was EXACTLY the same weight as last week. She said my water was up 4 pounds and that's probably because I wasn't getting in enough water, and also I didn't get all my 500 calories in a few days. But my fat mass went down, so I guess that's good. grrrrr

Oh well. I'm not going to get discouraged. Now I just have to get in all my water and calories!

You've had several better than average weigh ins in a row. Your body may just be telling you, "Wait a minute. Not so fast," to be sure you're not starving yourself. If you didn't change weight but retained 4 pounds of water, guess what-- you lost 4 pounds of FAT. Well done! You should be high fiving yourself!

Thank you everyone for the encouragement!

I'm doing better today! I've already had 50oz of water and I'm still going!! I'm hoping next week will be a good one! Thank God I am going the day before Thanksgiving and not after! haha. But I am NOT cheating AT ALL!!! I am making my own "mock" mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and desserts to bring with me to my cousins!

AHHHH!!! My poor food choices over the weekend kicked me out of Ketosis!!

Blah! And here I was thinking my poor food choices were the best choices for what was available!! How am I going to survive days of shopping if better bad choices are going to effect me THAT much?? This after such a wonderful last week!

Today is a company luncheon and I chose the fish in garlic sauce. (Better bad choice right?) My plan is to move the fish off the plate and scrap off the sauce and if I can - avoid the veggies all together... start a few days of week 1 to get me going again. RIGHT smack in the middle of Thanksgiving!
