2nd Day and Desperate!

This is my 2nd day on the program and I'm having a really tough time. I'm having really bad headaches and I'm surprised that my energy level is not higher. I have 100 pounds to lose, so this is a huge dive for me in calorie intake and even though I'm not hungry, I still want the food. I even had a little crying spell a little while ago, which prompted this post. I'm really afraid I'm not going to be able to do this and I feel it's my last chance. Any words of advice?

This program really works, getting through the first week is the hardest. You can do it, just read all the posts on here of everyone that has been successful. Do you have any cans of fat free chicken broth, that is supposed to be a big help with headaches. Keep busy to keep your mind off the program. Play games, if all else fails, go to bed, tomorrow is a new day and one day closer to success. We all have been there, keep up the good work and don't give in to temptation. Good luck!

Thanks, Hudiman! I'm really trying and I'm determined. I just didn't realize it would be this hard.

Good advice!! Stay too busy to obsess over food.

And just one thing, it does get easier. Each day it gets easier if you stay on plan. Best wishes to you!

It does get better I can promise you that! I have over 100 pounds to lose and am on week 6 now. I love the program now and have a ton of energy! The first week was by far the hardest but like the others said keep yourself busy and stick to the plan! It does work! Hang in there and post whenever you need to! Oh, and be sure to read the Helpful Info for Newbies thread! It has a ton of great information!

Sorry you are having a tough time. This initial difficulty seems to be part of this journey. I had a very rough time for the first 3 days too... terrible headaches, low energy.

What helped: Tons and tons of water provided occasional relief and let me keep putting my hand to my mouth. Plus, even though it was the LAST thing I felt like, I made myself go out to listen to music, see a movie. Did not solve the problem but helped distract me a little bit. Or, like Hudiman said, maybe go to bed. Losing weight is very hard on the body and sometimes requires extra rest.

And keep posting. It will keep you connected and help you through. Good luck.

Computergeek,

As everyone else has said week one is definatly the hardest and it will get better. The results from your 1st weigh in will be the motivation you need to continue the journey successfully. The plan really does work if you commit yourself to following the plan.

Good luck and

McBoo

Computer Geek where are you?

You've gottten great advice from the pros. I'm new here too.

I had the tiredness and low energy last week (my first week) but other than that I felt Ok. The thought of going back to the clinic and losing some weight for a change kept me on course and encouraged.

As mentioned one of the best things to do when I commit to a program is just to go to bed early to stop thinking about the bad stuff I want to indulge in...yeah the stuff that helped me to get to where I am now .

During the day stay on here as much as you can to read all the great successes and encouragement.

You can surely do this!!

I am in week 6.
Week one was rough, head aches, body ect and I seemed to foget about it.
I kept it simple, knew a few things I could eat and stayed with them the 1st week.
That week I lost......13.3 pounds
25 the 1st month and went then on a wonderful long trip with friends and lost 1 pound that week...
so to get on track cause even though I dropped a pound on vacation I wandered from the diet so to week one for the last 4 days...
and guess what
just dawned on me, my head hurts, my legs, I ache......duh those carbs I ate(and drank) last week clearing out again....

We can do this!

I'm still here

Well, today is day 4 and I feel much better. Thanks for all the great advice. My headaches are subsiding somewhat and I'm trying to keep busy like everyone says and that's helping. Hunger is not a problem at all, so the appetite suppressant is working -thank goodness! I still don't have the energy I had hoped I would, but maybe that will come next week. I really am determined to stick to this plan; as I said, I feel it's my last hope. I have done everything else and failed. My own doctor encouraged me to do this because I need something to jump start me and give me the motivation I need to get through each week. I have a friend who has been on the plan since February and has lost 75lbs! I just keep taking baby steps and making it through each day.

Thanks again for all the words of encouragement. It really helps to know I am not alone.
