I need to have a plan together for this weekends activities. I will be in a situation where I will be tempted but it's like that old saying...

"If you fail to plan...then you plan to fail" or something along those lines.

I totally agree with you. What always works for me is staying with meat only. That way you are not blowing the carbs out of the water and if you go over in calories, it is protein calories - not as damaging as carb calories. Of course drink drink drink the water and if you can make sure you get some exercise in even if it is a 30 minute walk per day.

Good luck! We all need it on these big picnic/party holidays!

~Robyn~ WOW!!!! You are looking terrific! Love the new picture.

I am going to have to figure out how to do that before/after dealio.

I am headed out for a little walk to test out the humidity...pretty high today as well as yesterday. I have events to go to this weekend as well and have planned what I am making to bring to each of them. Medi friendly all the way. And I am taking along a little "lunch bag" for myself just in case what is being served is not on my approved list. I am calling it "BYOP" (Bring your own picnic.) Both of the hosts know I am on the program and are cool with my bringing my own goodies. Besides they both LOVE Susie's cheesecake!

McBoo, Thanks for beginning the July thread for us!

I bought a box of the chocolate medi bars today. I was shocked when she told me they were $14 for 7 bars...I guess $2/bar isn't too bad but still seems a lot. Are there any bars out there with similar calories, protein, and net carbs that you recommend?

TXGRLY- I buy the South Beach Snack Bars and they are very comparable. You have to make sure you read the labels carefully, because many of the South Beach Bars have way too many calories. I have the most success finding these at WalMart. I believe it's less than $4 per box. Here's a link to the ones I have tried and I like them much better than the medi ones.

Just came back from my weigh-in, 2.5 more lbs gone. 23 total and only 7 more lbs to target weight, yahoo! Have a great 4th and we are still hoping for sun up here in lovely rainy cold New England.
And I love the South Beach Snack bars, reasonable and good.

Excellent job Hudiman!!! You are almost there - congrats! If it is any comfort - it has been raining here for 3 days, we don't usually get so much rain, but we need it so it is a necessary evil for now!

I don't use the medi-bars and have not tried the SouthBeach ones, but they do sound interesting, may have to spend some more time in the store browsing again!

Me too! We must have passed in the elevator!

I lost 2.8lbs for a total of 14 pounds so far since I started June 1.

fit2be50 thats awesome!!!! (you need to go to the "User Control panel"on the top left of the screen)

Jo- I might need to BYOP too! lol

I will be eating lots of bunless hamburgers at cookouts this weekend should it ever stop raining

Ok guys here is a real challenge for me! I always bring dessert to these cookouts, and I have gotten several requests. I will be making a chocolate toffee crunch kahlua trifle for the Friday BBQ and a red white and blue berry trifle for the second BBQ this weekend. I am going to have a hard time baking without tasting. I think I will prob be using a lot of mouthwash!!!! I didn't have the heart to say no. I think I may also make a fruit salad to take along to both, so i know there is something I can eat.

Hi all! Joining you over here. I have been doing low carb since around Dec/Jan but don't think I really got it. Messed around with JUDDD for a couple of weeks but couldn't quite get in the groove. And then I found you! We don't have a MWL clinic here, but I am going to a weight loss clinic that does the exact same thing with the exception that my MIC shots are once weekly (or every 4 days if I like) and it doesn't seem as organized. I have learned a ton of info here and in my "class" I had to take, I even shared some of that knowledge. The appetite supp and fat burners really really help. I might just make it. Of course I think I said that with JUDDD, but my sched just isn't structured enough with all the travel I do in my work that I can say UD or DD consistently and I was really hungry. I was down to 163 with JUDDD but after a bad weekend, back up to 167. I am going to try very hard not to weigh b/t visits. Wish me luck! You guys got ti goin' on over here!

You are certainly welcome to hang out with us, although your program is not the same, so our "rules of the game" will be different and our allowable foods may also be different. And a lot of other things will be different as well.

Here is the website:
Medi-Weightloss Clinics® - Physician-supervised weight loss clinics

To be truthful, there is no clinic out there that is "exactly like" MWL although there are a lot that would like to be and liberally use parts of the MWL name in their titles, but there is only one MWL. The other programs you are talking about, I cannot comment on without losing my temper, so I shall refrain.

Nonetheless, feel free to share and come in for support and encouragement.

*.*Last call for June weight loss stats*.*

Hello all....I will hold June stats until Saturday, the 4th of July.
Currently we are not anywhere close to May's numbers. So, if you want to be included, send me a PM or post in here and I will pick up the numbers.

Jo
The weather man today said that we didn't have one day in June with 30% sun. It rained and was cool/cold every single day in the month. We have mold growing everywhere. Hanging plants are rotting as is everyones temperment. Our summers are so short and then to loose one whole month......but on the bright side, I'm 23 lbs lighter,
Good luck everyone, over the holiday weekend. And we are patiently waiting for the AZ heat to arrive!

~Mimi~ I got quite a few requests for specific desserts, as I love to make them...generally. This time I simply said I would surprise them. And I will be bringing Susie's cheesecake to both events. One will use the strawberry version, the other just the regular version. Different people will be at both events. I just choose not to fuss with the other recipes, they are too costly especially since I would have to purchase ALL the ingredients as they are no longer in my house. And it is way too hot to even think about using the oven!

Take a look at the menu for one of the events:

Amy - Potato Salad, Pina`Colada Cake.
Angela and John - Chips and Dips and Baked Beans.
April - Macaroni and Cheese.
Dana - Cheesy Potatoes.
Ed - Tropical fruits for salad
Garrett - Chips and salsa
Jo - Ambrosia Salad and Cheesecake.
Katrina - Veggie Platter.
Michael and Kevyn - Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Chicken and Buns, Mayo, Mustard, Pickles, Cheese, Relish, Tomatoes, Lettuce. Also Ice, Italian Soda's, Coffee and Water.

At least at this one, I have a chance at chicken (depending on how they prepare it). This is why I will BYOP (Bring my own picnic)...so much safer.

if you want a recipe for the Ambrosia salad I can send it on to you in a
PM. It is pretty low cal but not quite medi compliant.

I will definately send some of the 100 degree temperatures and no rain we are seeing in lower Alabama your way. I have never seen a June this hot, with so little ran. We have been reaching record temperatures and we are not even to the hottest time of the year. Workouts are inside these days.

Hi - you change it by going to the User Control Panel on the top left of the screen, and then click on edit profile... good luck with the program - you have lots of support here.

Should we call you E?

(and are you going to be 50? If so, me too! - and DETERMINED to be fit when I get there!)

I had a great surprise today. I was in Walmart for stuff for this weekend. I passed by the ladies clothes section and saw that they had 2.00 shorts on a rack. So I took a pair of 22's and a pair of 20's (I started the diet wearing tight 28's and currently wear 24's because that is the smallest I have). The 20's fit!!!!! One more size to go and I am out of the fat lady side of the store!!!! I also fit into the skinny side of the store XL shirts - didn't buy anything yet. It is nice knowing that there is a big difference in the size of my back side now! I am waiting until I don't have to shop on the fat side!

Thanks for letting me brag!

I am so proud of me

I had a chocolate chip cookie land on my desk today!

I must tell you that is my one weakness.

I stared at it....I even smelled it.

But I did not eat it.....it was VERY HARD!

I did it...I beat the cookie!

Way to go Robyn, you brag all you want. 60 lbs certainly gives you the right. I have shopped in my own closet and even those things are starting to look like they have stretched out, way better then trying things on that I was sure shrunk hanging in my closet. Great job, you're an inspiration!

I'm depressed. I only lost .6 lbs in the past week. I went to the clinic this afternoon for my second WI. It may be a combination of it being my TOM soon (sorry if TMI), and I may have been over doing the snacking on nuts at night. I need to be more careful...sigh. At least I'm still losing...I was really hoping to see 2 lbs loss. They said I can work out again for 30 minute intervals and prescribed me additional AS to take in the evening. I keep telling myself I've never lost 7.6lbs in 2 weeks before, and I know I should be proud I'm keeping it off...just want to lose it already. If you guys weren't out here showing this works I would give up.

Thanks for posting and keep it up to encourage the rest of us!

Congrats! I know how hard that is. Guys at work think its funny to ask if I want chocolate every few days from our basket of goodies 3 feet from my desk.

At least I'm still losing...I was really hoping to see 2 lbs loss. They said I can work out again for 30 minute intervals and prescribed me additional AS to take in the evening. If you guys weren't out here showing this works I would give up.

Thanks for posting and keep it up to encourage the rest of us!
You don't have that much to loose, you will loose slower. I only lost a pound the second week. Then it was 2 to 2 1/2 the next several. Last week I only lost .5. Back up to 2 1/2 this week. It all works out if you stick with it. I think some of us expect miracles in a short time. Slow and Steady wins the race. Keep up the work.

Hello Everyone: Happy July. I hope you are all keeping well. I too am planning what I will bring to BBQ's this weekend. Never even thought of Susie's cheesecake, that is an excellent idea.

I need some advice guys. I am 4 days into my second week, I am sticking religiously with the program. I stepped on my own scale this morning, and I was not even down an ounce. I have been consistenly in ketosis (mod to lge). Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else? I would really appreciate input on this one.
