Hi all

There are so many posts and so many wtgs and stick with its that I would like to pass on BUT I'm in process of trying to pack for our vacation

I would have more time BUT I had a blond moment and locked my car keys in my trunk It took AAA 1 1/2hrs to get to me grrrrrrr.

Had my weigh-in (a day late cuz I was working on thurs and my clinic wouldn't have been open when I was done. BUT I lost another 2.8lbs-1.8 of which was fat!!!! AND it is my TOM!!! My water was down 1.6lbs too so no water retention!!!

I got to the gym 4 times this past week-would have been more but my hamstrings started acting up as well as my back So I laid back Monday and Tuesday and didn't do any exercise other than work.

My NP said I need to increase my protein now especially on the days that I work out! I'd been doing that anyways because my body demanded it and craved protein.

Got to discussing the whole scale numbers since I started and I've lost 73.0lbs and 60lbs of it was fat!!! I'm so thrilled with this

I'm going to be gone for about 10 days to visit my and the hubby's families so I'll peek in once in a while to catch up on posts. BUT I won't be weighing in til I get back. Both families KNOW I'm dieting so there really shouldn't be any issues with my food choices. My only challenges will be when we go out to eat with friends. But once they see me I'm sure they'll understand my food choices, they're great people!!!!!

I bought some summer things on sale, 1 being a pair of size 14 shorts... I wore these to my weigh-in and lo and behold, they're too big

I've gone from a 3x/size 24 to a size 12 in 22wks I'm 23lbs from goal and even though all the "experts" say I should weigh about 120-125lbs, my NP says that would be way too low a weight for me. I agree because I did get to 122lbs once long long ago.... and I looked like I was sick! I did get into a size 2 pair of jeans though

Sooooo.... I'm going to behave (fingers crossed ). My only issue is to figure out how to get my exercise in.....any ideas????? Other than walking I mean.

Thanks,

cindy

My daughter wants to add pudding mix to the yolk batter to make choc favored oopsie and any other favor she can think of. I told her to experiment as she is going off to college and needs to learn to make them for herself!

Anyone doing any experimenting lately????

i loved these when i was doing straight atkins.. Do you find they stall you on the medi plan?

Good luck. You will most likely be out of ketosis and may need to do week one for 3 days or so to get back in.

Layna, Hi! I read on of your posts and you said you tried a low carb diet before but stopped because of hair loss. I was woundering if you have noticed any hair loss with medi, and if not what vitamins are you taking? I started in march and i have noticed that i have lost a lot of hair. I did not have a clue that a loe carb diet could do this. I still want to lose at least 40 more lbs but i dont want to be skinny and bald. I would really be greatful for any help. When you started to eat carbs did your hair start to grow back? Thanks soooo much. Sue

I had a little more than normal hair loss near the end of phase 1; when I mentioned it to the clinic we added in extra zinc and biotin - this seemed to help me. They told me it's not really the low carb that does it it is more the high protein (6 of one ya know) I will tell you that you need to talk with your clinic about EVERYTHING along your journey - your body may very well be ready for a break from or modification to your plan.

2009...this is a little confusing.

Did you just eat the cheese & pepp off the top of the pizza?

In your 1st post you said you had 1 slice of pizza , no bread.

If you just took the cheese and pepp off the top of the pizza you may not be so bad off as both of those items may not have any carbs. You may not be able to get an accurate count for that also.

Cindy-WOW!! Great job all around. As for exercising on the road-do you own a set of resistance bands. You can buy them at Dick's sporting Goods and they come with directions...if you don't know what they are--they are
like large rubber bands with handles that you can use for a total body work out. I always travel with mine. Check them out. El

I'm on my 4th week and am down a total of 18lbs! I'm so excited and glad I joined this program. Last week I had a slip up... caved in and ordered enough taco bell to feed 4 people between my husband and I. It was sooo good, but the feeling I got after I ate it made me feel like crap so back to all meat I went. I weighed in that week and lost a total of 5lbs, I couldnt believe it!
Getting the water in is really a struggle though. It's easy to forget you havent drank anything in hours when you're chasing an 11/mo old around who just learned to walk.

I love the comment about your 11 mo. old! I always said I have no idea how I got this big after chasing three babies around. You'd think that'd be enough exercise to burn off a whole cake! lol

Congrats on your success so far. I'm in my first week and will be going to weigh in on Tues. I love reading all your success stories...it makes me so excited to get to my goal weight!

Down 11.2lbs

I am so excited to be down 7.2 followed by 4.4 (while on vacation) for a total of 11.2 over my first 2 weeks. Thankfully I am out of week one and not hungry anymore. I usually only take 1 AS per day and don't feel to hungry. I want to try to lose without the crutch of AS. I am glad to add fruits and veggies too! I do wonder how some of you manage "cheating". I have managed this by nibbling a 2 or 3 small bites instead of consuming an entire treat..ice cream, pizza and smores. Obviously I don't do this everyday cuz I am afraid of being kicked out of ketosis. Ketosis is the reminder everyday!

Suggestions for ice cream and chocolate indulgences to help manage urge to splurge??

I trained all 3 of my kids over a weekend by having them wear nothing on bottom! WHen they "go" they see "it" as "it" happens and respond quicker. Ofcourse, I kept them off any carpeted areas but am fortunate to have hardwood or tile on all of my 1st floor. WIth it being summer the backyard is an option too. I was sure to have a potty chair available to quickly whisk them onto during midstream or even after they have finished "it". I had success with all 3 of my kids. It makes for a long weekend but is so worth it in the end. THere is no confusion for them since they can see and feel since their is nothing absorbing. SOunds dirty/grouse but keep paper towels and floor cleaner handy and it goes by fast. Good luck!

Oh my god, I couldnt imagine having 3 babies right now. You're a strong woman lol

Best of luck to you with your weight loss. It's true when they say the first week is the hardest. Even if it wasnt that hard to begin with it still keeps on getting easier and easier! What part of florida are you from by the way?

I'm from the Ft. Myers area. Its so funny to see how many people on here are from Florida! What part are you from? I haven't had too much trouble with this first week...except at night when I'm relaxing and would usually have a bag of chips or cookies on my lap. So far I've resisted the urge, though.

Having three kids is a daily challenge. (They are 5, almost 4, and 23 mos.) I honestly wouldn't be able to do it without my amazing husband. I have so much respect for single moms.

Pull ups didn't work for my 2nd little boy. I bought some "plastic" training pants off of E-bay. They can feel them when they're wet, but they don't make a HUGE mess. After he felt that yucky sensation a few times, he was ready. Good luck---you will be SOOOO glad when it's over with. The thrill of having a child out of diapers is as rewarding as losing 10 pounds!
