Ginny-Go to Kraft.com and find Crystal Light. Send them a note under contact us and they will let yu know where you can buy in New England. I work in the grocery industry and this usually is the fastest route for by store distribution. Note: Walden Farms has no clue what products are where so this did not work for me. Good luck. El
Also WalMArt is soooooooooooooo good at knowing to the item what each store carries, they'd be able to tell you who carries. Problem with NE is not too many WalMart Supercenters relative to the rest of the country.

Hi all - had not been on in a couple days and had to catch up on 2 pages of great posts!

Jerry - congrats on the "saggy skin" and shopping in the "regular" store! Boy I can't wait for that!

Ginny - Congrats! You are so close to goal! Every store here in NC has the CL Hydration so can't help you. I am a "couponer" so I actually have a lot of boxes of them in my stockpile and if you PM me your email or address (not sure if I can PM yet) I would be happy to send a box or 2 to you!

Silvia - Congrats on your loss! Great!

Lori - Hope your procedure goes well and you feel better soon! I would second what Susie said. Take care of your health first and do your best to stick to the plan. Eat protein and medi compliant veggies and fruit and drink lots of water. Continue to journal your food too! If you are allowed to walk around a little then do that. Any little bit will help.

Loseinit27 - Congrats on starting the program!!! Must be great that you are doing it with your mom! It's nice to have that "team" approach! About the leg cramps...I drink a Crystal Light hysdration everyday and it helps. I got one in the middle of the night and have not had one since. My clinic also suggested Powerade Zero (I just did not like the taste and the packets of CL are easier). The AS, I take my last one at 4. I was taking it later and having a hard time falling asleep which was never an issue for me. I am fine now (although I go to bed at 11:30 normally and wake up at 5:15) but at least now I am sleeping that whole time! Oh and by the way, what is your first name?

Jo - a size 10! That is awesome!

Kari - Congrats on your weight loss!!

I weigh in tomorrow and really looking forward to it! I have done great on the plan this week and worked out hard everyday but one. Still doing my running program, Couch Potato to 5K and then on the off days am doing the Jillian Michaels (from Biggest Loser) 30 day shred...that is a serious 20 minutes!!

Hope you are all having a great week! Thanks for the continued support and inspiration!

Hi All

Well...weigh-in wasn't anywhere near what I have been doing, only 0.6lbs BUT I lost 4.6lbs of fat . There was yet another new person at my clinic-another exercise physiologist named Joe. He looked at my chart and was immediately impressed . He just suggested getting to the gym more (I work 5 days next week ) but agreed that my yardwork does equal more than a 1 day workout-I have a 1/2 acre lot thta I do ALL the work on cuz my husband works alot! My ditches are up to my shoulders and I have to weed whack them! As well as doing all the edging etc...
However... I've been working more this week and that cuts into my gym time. I do have a "schedule" at home as well so it really can be an issue. SO-I will work this into my schedule and get some me-time My job can be very physical at times and I literally stand for at least 6hrs/day. Really sux when I want to do cardio
The really cool thing that happened this week was when I worked at my old job for a couple of days and everybody commented on the weightloss

Kari-
Justin-
Heidi-as has been said, don't beat yourself up over it When you get to maintenance and back to "real life" (acute phase is not forever!), you will have times when that 1lb gain will bug you BUT losing it the following week is also realistic!

Layna-Stay off your scale!!!! I did the same thing and it drove me to distraction!

Jerry- It's definitely liberating to shop at stores not aimed at heavy people. Clothes are cheaper and styles can be better! Although I still miss layne bryant-their styles rock!

Jo-I know your pain. My batwings are getting lower every day And,this may be TMI for some, I have issues buying bras because I have extra skin around my ribcage(it's fascinating to actually see my ribs and collarbones )so I have "Dunlap" in the weirdest places

Hudiman-

Orlando-

Loseinit-

Sorry for the long entry but it's been a busy week!

I had a gruesome toothache the last couple of days . Couldn't even run the AC it bothered my tooth.

Always something to throw me off.

Well anyway, I coudn't eat anything yesterday but sipped some soup I had the frozen shrimp wonton soup that you buy in Costco. I threw the box away when I bought it so I couldn't do the count . It was only a 6 oz. size. I also had a small piece of meatloaf that I made for my Hubby. My ketostix were not as dark but still in ketosis.

I know about the chicken broth. I tried to drink it my 1st week it made me very nauseous.

Couldn't take my AS cuz I was taking penicillin and painkillers.

Today at the dentist I had to have the dreaded root canal . So far today I have only had an EAS shake and a big glass of CL immunity and some water.

I guess I have nothing else to say or ask just needed somewhere to vent.

Here are the nutritional stats for the shrimp wonton soup...

cal 115/ fat 2g/ sodium 1,430mg/ carbs 17g/ fiber 0g/ protein 7g

I pulled this off of Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate.

Susie,
Did you have any problems with the added calories and new accepted foods when you did the short term maintenance? Have you moved to the next phase? Ginny

I could not weigh in after week one because of a compression cast and a boot cast on my foot. Went to the clinic today after week 2. I only have the boot cast on now so took it off briefly to be weighed. I was down 11 pounds for the 2 weeks! Very encouraged!!

Last week the person told me to journal all my calories but the person today said to journal only my protein calories to make sure I am getting 500 protein calories. What do you all do?

~Grace~ Journal everything that you put in your mouth to eat. EVERYTHING. That is what I was advised by my clinic on day one, and that has never changed. And today I am on day 207 and I still journal everything that I put in my mouth to eat! This way, nothing is left out, nothing goes into your mouth without thinking about it, until it becomes automatic to write it down. That is for both solids and liquids!
And CONGRATS on the 11 pounds!

Ginny,

I am eating about 1500-1600 calories per day and staying pretty close to my goal weight. I have been weighing every day and if my weight goes up at all I cut back on calories and sodium the next day. I don't know if they recommend weighing every day, but I don't want to wait a week and find out I am up 5 pounds. I'd rather address it right away. Since I had already weaned myself off of the AS they stuck me right into the wellness phase.

The doctor at my clinic told me to still be very careful with the carbs and only make them an occasional treat. I am eating more fruit and occasionally will have sweet potato fries. I am trying to stay away from sweets, bread, potatoes, rice and pasta as I think that is what got me fat in the first place and I don't want the cravings back.

Grace and Kari - Congrats on your losses!
Way to set the bar!

I am meeting my husband in Italy next Thursday and can hardly wait. He has a meeting in Rome and then we will go to Cinque Terra, Siena and Positano. I plan to walk alot, eat fresh seafood and produce. We are taking advantage of his meeting and celebrating our 25th anniversary (which isn't until December) early.

What am I doing wrong....

People who have started after me have lost 18 pounds!

I am jealous.....I am barley at 12 after 4 weeks.

I feel like I am missing something...is two pounds a week after week one bad?

So putting you right into the wellness phase, you skipped adding an extra 200calories for 2 weeks then another 200 calories another 2 weeks and adding back a small amount of good carbs? I haven't taken many AS this whole program. Not sure how my clinic will introduce things back.
And isn't fruit sort of high in carbs? I have a feeling the phase's after the weight losing phase are going to be the hardest. I'm a little nervous about it. Although staying away from the things you listed makes sense, all the white stuff that we have been told to stay away from way before finding out about this program....I should stop worrying until I get there.
Good job, I don't think you have to worry about putting weight back on, you seem to be on a mission. So many of you on here are such good role models. Ginny

No, it is awesome, and look at it as losing 3-4 pounds a week because if you didn't loose those 2 you probably would have put on 2.....so that makes 4 lbs lost a week.
And you don't have as much to loose as some of the people on this forum. I have only lost 26 in 10-11 weeks. Slow and steady wins the race. It didn't take you 4 weeks to put that weight on. You are doing great,

We started at about the same time at similar weights. You are doing great. I have my weigh in tomorrow and hoping to be on the same track as you. I was told at our body weight to expect 1-2lbs loss per week. If we start losing over 3lbs then we are probably not eating enough. We will get there. Just think...when was the last time you lost 12 lbs in one month before? I know I've already lost a dress size with 10 lbs but I'm barely 5'3". So every 10lbs is a dress size for me. Keep it up!

~Kari~Let's put things in perspective here. You have a total of 40 pounds to lose. You have already lost 12'ish. I have 102 pounds to lose and it took me 12 weeks to lose 40 pounds. The first week was 11 pounds, and from there it was an average of 2-2.6 pounds per week. I am currently in week 31 with 16 pounds to go. Two pounds a week is a healthy loss per week, and insures you can keep it off.

What you need to work on is your mindset about this program. You simply cannot keep comparing yourself to other people as each person is totally unique and different. You have overcome some incredible odds and you can do this as well. You must look at this as a major lifestyle change. We are all here to support and help you, but some of the work you must do for yourself. And that is making certain that you realize what this program is all about and why you are working it. It is NOT meant as a quick fix. You are looking to change your life and make it better, healthier and happier.

You can do this, Kari, I know you can.

Jo

Actually I am restricting my fruit to 2 per day. I got these California peaches from Costco that are the best peaches I have tasted in 10 years and they have been calling to me. So limiting them (about 10-15g carbs per peach) is required. I have bought them 3 times this summer and they have all been excellent. I bought some California peaches from BJ's and they were mealy and terrible. I threw them all away. I am supposed to keep my carbs to below 75g per day and select carbs that I can control.

I think you are doing nothing wrong... all right! I thought it would be all 5 lb losses every week. My clinic said most people come in at 2, maybe 3 lbs a week. I know there are star performers, and some weeks are better than others for each of us, but that is where my clinic set my expectation. They are the experts and see a LOT of people and you are tracking right where they called it.

So, keep up the great work!

finally did my WI yesterday lost 2 more lbs! That is one lb a week since I was on vacation last week. They want me to up my calories, they think that with all the exercise I was not eating enough, which is what caused the headaches & dizzyness so I will try this week.

Also BTW I told the NP how I have never been a big meat eater and how I am really having a hard time force feeding myself to eat all of this meat, and she told me to try more veggies this week, primarily veggies, which honestly seems like a bad idea. Won't I go out of ketosis? ANd dont I NEED that protein? I think I am going to try more protein shakes. I looked athe the vegetarian list, and honestly I can't imagine a vegetarian being successful on this diet. Oh and they let go one of the NP's go at my clinic this one is new, so she seems somewhat unfamiliar with the program, which stresses me out a bit, since Im paying so much for her advice. But at least maybe now I won't get two answers from two NPS since there is only 1.

You are doing great! Don't worry about the scale and pounds per week, look at the clothing and how it fits and how great you are feeling

Awesome job Mimi!

I have to agree with you and the clinic advice. I have never felt like I get my monies worth. I feel like I pay just so that I stay on this and have that accountability. The true advice comes from this website! That being said, I think I would go with more shakes and keep the veggies the same. Until you are in maintenance phase you need to be in ketosis to lose the weight. But that is my opinion. You have your head on straight and you know what you need to do! Go with your gut on this one!!! Good luck and keep losing!

Happy Friday!

Cindy (dodgem) - Congrats on the weight loss! I live in Matthews, NC too! What clinic do you go to?

Grace - Congrats on the loss! That is AWESOME! You should be very proud of yourself! Oh and I would agree with Jo - journal everything!!

Susie - Italy! WOW! That is great! Enjoy it and congrats on the anniversary!

Kari - Everyone said exactly what I would have said! You don't have nearly the amount of weight like other so on the board (like me!) You should be very proud of your self to the commitment you made to this program and yourself! You are doing great!

Medi - Congrats on the WL! Great! I would agree with Robyn about the veggies. I would keep them the same as you do want to stay in ketosis and try the shakes. Also, have you tried the Greek (Fage) yogurt. The fat free kind has 80 cal and 17g of protein. I eat this fairly often (although you do have to doctor it up a bit...I would NOT eat it by itself!) but it is great!

I had my weigh in this morning and lost 5.5 pounds! Very excited! I am down 27.5 since June 4th! I really think my working out a lot this week helped! Oh, and the NP at the clinic this morning said that corporate has instructed them to have all patients be sure to get 1 healthy fat (almonds, EVOO, salad dressing) per day to make sure our gal bladders stay healthy. Interesting! My clinic takes pictures and does blood work every 30 pounds so next week they said to wear something cute! Although all my clothes are too big! I need to go digging in my garage for clothes...I think I have bins from size 12-24! I already have a nice stack of clothes that are too big so that is a great feeling!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Susie
Susie,

Enjoy the Cinque Terre. You will definatly get your exercise there with all the walking and hills. Always fun for those of us from Florida (the flattest place around).

WTG - You are doing great and enjoy trying on the smaller clothing! Don't put the big clothes in the garage - get rid of them!!!!
