I don't know what to do! nobody at my clinic knows much about the program, the only lady that knew transfered to another location which is to far away for me.
I loose about 1.5 to 2 pounds a week...no more than that, and I don't know if that is ok, or if its that ittle beacuse I cheat. For example, if my husband goes to mc donlads I will eat 2 of his fries.
What can I do? I am going back to week 1 today, an see if that helps me to get back in track.
Please advice me and thank you verry much
Karen- I started experiencing the same thing with the appetite suppresants (@ about 14 weeks into the program) and talked to the doctor about it. He gave me extra pills and has me doing 1-1-2 because my hunger is coming in the evenings. Maybe they can do the same for you... Luckily the pills have never affected my sleep so taking the double dose at night helps with the hunger without keeping me up. According to my Dr. most don't need the dosage increased but some people have a naturally higher tolerence for stimulants like caffiene, medications, etc. and may need the dosage adjusted as they go because they become accustomed to them. Hope that helps! I'm suprised to hear that your clinic is unhelpful - if it stays that way I would definately address your concerns with the corporate office. I know from my experience and the others comments on here that it is not the norm. On the bright side though you have a great group of people here to help fill in the blanks you may have from the clinic.

As I mentioned I got to cut my blood pressure meds in half on Monday. I have felt better all week and then got a bonus on the scales! As far as bp, it was back up slightly, which is so much better than dropping so rapidly! It seems weird to be happy about it being up, but I need to stabilize.

Oh, and I met my 10% goal, which I found out today (at my clinic) gave me 10% off of this visit.... Woo Hoo, so it was a good day all around.
WOW!!! Too bad my clinic doesn't offer that discount program. That would have been a nice surprise when I hit the 50% mark. Congrats on the loss this week and for hitting that 10% goal!

Since I have been absent for a few days I just want to say congrats to everyone whose had success the last week!

I had my weigh in last Friday and it was the first week that I didn't lose I was up .8 lb for the week but it was my own fault and I was actually prepared for a little worse then that. My family and I always get together for the 4th and this year we rented a house in a resort community (up near all you Orlando folks.) I made the decision going into things that I would stay on plan as far as food was concerned, and I did - so that was a plus. However, I also decided that I would allow myself alcohol for the weekend. I drink maybe twice a year so I knew it wouldn't be a trigger point for me to fall of the plan altogether which is the only reason I even considered it. Interestingly- even though I made the decision fully aware of the consequences it would have to my goal I still couldn't help but be a little mad at myself as I paid $70 after seeing the # go up on the scale. I guess the silver lining to this situtation is that 3 months ago I wouldn't have been aware of what my trigger points were (all those reasons I failed on my other diet attempts)- so not only have a lost weight with Medi but I've also lost the ignorance and apathy that let me get to my heaviest.

Anyways- thanks for letting me vent about my self-sabotoge...Hope everyone has a great week!

Don't beat yourself up! You have done so awesome on the diet, a little trip is all you had and you understand it now. You have lost 66 pounds in 16 weeks - incredible! Next week will be awesome, I am sure. You are looking wonderful and soon you will be in onederland!

Justin
Congrats on the goal! Have a great vacation and lose some more weight!

Heidi - Don't be too hard on yourself. You made the decision going into the vacation not realizing it would be a trigger point for you and now you know. It was .8...so for being on vacation that is not so bad. And like Robyn said, you have lost 66 pounds in 16 weeks! That is awesome!

Justin - congrats! Enjoy your trip!

I choose Medi because I had great success on Atkins before, but I didn't keep up with it, I need the appointments to keep me honest!

Congratulations everyone on your big, medium, and small loses last week. I think everyone is doing great. Sometimes we might have little hiccups in the process/program but if we know that and jump back on board we have the tools to continue losing. While being on medication for my kidney infection, I didn't worry about ketosis. I was knocked out of it, I was drinking loads of juices, and when the meds were gone I went back to week one. Took 2 days and back into ketosis I am. Everyone's bodies are different, we will have some big weight loss weeks and we will have small weight loss weeks, that's just the way it is. How many of you have done WW and weighed and measured and been so good, excited about the weigh in.....then...you're up 2 lbs. Or had weeks that you were sooooo bad that you dreaded going to the weigh in......then.....you're down 2 lbs..... our bodies do really strange things. I'm rambling, guess what I am saying is this program really works, and if we screw up here or there we have the tools to get back on track. Good luck this week everyone! I weigh in tomorrow and will probably get back on here and whine cuz I wanted to loose more. So far I am really happy with my 25.

Good evening, All: Outstanding work everyone. So many losses. And for those who are dissappointed with less than desired losses or even small gains, Hudiman put it very well. We have the tools and the knowledge, as well as the ability and support to get right back on the horse and keep going. Keeping an eye on the big picture is important. I was pissed a week ago with a 3.2 lb loss despite doing everything by the book. Two days after my WI, the scale dropped another 3 over night, then a couple of days later up 2.2, then back down.

I was driving myself nuts, not to mention messing with my motivation. I stood back and looked at the big pic, 16 lbs in first 3 wks, and if I keep going at 0 to 2 lbs a week for the rest of the journey, I will get there. And that is the diff for all of us this time, on this program with this set of peers. We are all going to get there. This is the time and place to learn what happens when we make mistakes, and how to deal when our body decides it just wants to hang on to that weight for a week or two longer.

 My skin is getting saggy! Well, spoke to my doc and she upped my goal weight to 250 pounds due to the fact that I will lose at least 20 pounds in skin when I have my tummy tuck / upper thighs done. 28 more pounds and I'm in the 2's! Went to a "normal" store for the first time Monday and bought 3X shirts (used to be 6X) and size 50 shorts (used to be 65) and these 50's were not snug fitting! I bought 2 shirts and a pair of shorts for $78! Last year those 3 items would have cost me closer to $150 at the big and tall store!

JBiggars - Its nice not having to shop the "big and tall" stores!!!! I know what you mean about the saggy skin - I am feeling jiggly for a lack of a better term...I can feel it jiggle when I walk and I am exercising everyday. Congrats on the $$$$ savings - you will need for the tummy tuck!

~Jerry~Congrats on the shopping trip! And the $$$ savings! Oh...and the saggy skin!

~Robyn~You just crack me up! "She jiggles with a wiggle when she walks"

My issues are under my arms...working on that one...and a bit in the tummy...working on that one too. Gets a little better every week. My big accomplishment was purchasing a pair of size 10 white denims on sale at Ann Taylor for $29.50. Still a little bit snug...but they are my goal jeans.

Headed out to walk before the temps go much higher. It is 91 right now!

Just got back from weigh in, back on track after kidney infection and down again this week, total of 26 lbs. Only 4 lbs. to Phase II Short-Term Maintenance, yahoo. What do they do when you reach that stage besides taking away the appetite suppressant? Is it hard to follow? Thanks and good luck to everyone this week and to all the big loosers. Robyn and Jerry and Jo, you guys are the next Suzie and McBoo. Thanks everyone, I still say "this program rocks"!

So I have been stalking the threads and decided to finally introduce myself. I started my plan on Saturday and have been following to the letter. I have to really fight the urge to weigh myself cause the anticipation is killing me. My mother and I are doing it together and I find that learning together is terrific! We have a back and forth effect that helps us work out any questions and doubts. Maybe if I heard it wrong she remembers and so on. I can't offer much advise to ya'll but sure do love the support everyone here shows and I will be sure to start sharing and stop stalking. Can't wait for my weigh-in on Friday and to get to start those fabulous recipes.

I have started pretty much problem free but I am struggling with sleep. I didn't start my AS until day 4 and had problems from the first day. I also had severe leg muscle cramps when I played softball last night. Would it help if I increase my electrolytes and is it possible to have too many electrolytes?

I look forward to sharing in everyones journey and am thrilled to no be going at it alone!

I had trouble sleeping at the very beginning with the AS, but that went away. You may want to try taking your last dose a little earlier. I add 1 crystal light hydration to go pack (which contains electrolytes) to one bottle of water per day and the leg cramps have gone away.

Good luck!

Ginny and Sonia,

Congrats on your losses!

You will both be in maintenance in no time. For me, they took my "after" picture, then did a metabolic test where they had me breath into a tube for 10 minutes. I had already gone off the AS, so they just went over the diet plan for maintenance and scheduled for an appointment in 1 month.

Jo,

Congrats on the size 10! Very exciting!!

I have hunted high and low for the Crystal Light Hydration to go packs and can't find them, anyone in New England have a grocery store where they have bought it? And thanks Susie for the praise, it's a great feeling when people notice and say nice things.

JMHO...

Please make sure your health comes first. Your body may need more calories to heal. I would stick with lean meats, turkey, chicken, fish, Medi legal vegetables and fruit. Chicken broth is always good when you are not feeling up to par. Stay away from starchy carbs like bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, ... If your body is needing more calories, eat them in protein and veggies.

Of course I live in Florida, but I have found them at the super Walmart and Target stores.

Check out Amazon.com- grocery section (I put a link below). They carry them at an ok price, cheaper then the regular grocery store but more expensive then walmart, the only catch is you have to buy in bulk.
