Charlie Horse! OUCH

I woke up in the middle of the night with the most incredible pain! My calf muscle was TOTALLY in a spasm! it hurt so bad! It feels sore this morning too, just in time for my second 12 hour shift, working on my feet! UG.

The packet materials say to drink Mortons Lite salt in a glass of water, I didn't get any of that will regular salt work?! I am desperate here, this can NOT happen again! I am going to work now, so no time to stop at a store, its 520am, I am afraid this will come back during th day!

Advice?! Im drinking regular salt water and hoping for the best.

I have gotten those too, but what helped me was drinking a 16oz glass of Crystal Light Hydration everyday. It has potassium. If it doesn't add potassium supplement to your diet.

What is Crystal Light Hydration? Is that the regular crystal light or something special? Is it with the other crystal light stuff at the grocery store?

CHARLIE'S HERE TOOOOOO

I got several charley horses in my right calf. I got the usual "drink more water" response from the clinic. I tried the Propel lite but hated the fact that it had hydrogenated oil in it. I now keep a small supply of 10 calorie vitamin water on hand or the Walgreens private label vitamin water zero calorie. My hubby swears by the old wives tale of drinking pickle juice - so I have also just ate a nice sour pickle!

Pickle juice - yum!!!! I'm not sure which is worse, the charlie horse or the drinking pickle juice! But Hudiman, to answer your question, Crystal Light Hydration is with all the other Crystal Light offerings. There is a Lemonaide flavor and Raspberry flavor, these are the single serve packages.

I would have to be hog tied to eat or drink pickles/pickle juice. Never have been able
to stand the taste! There is a potassium gluconate supplement from NatureMade which
can help you as well.

Ok! Pickles CHECK! I will have to look for that CL Hydration. I am scared to go to sleep tonight, that was awful! it was such a bad charlie horse that the muscle was super sore today, like as if I had lifted weights or something. EEK!

Aww those hurt really bad, but I have had 1 CL hydration everyday since I had my first charlie horse and thankfully I have not experience them again. Good luck!

Wow - I would watch out for the 10 calorie vitamin water - it has lots of carbs!

I had one last night, ouch! I get them quite often. Does anyone know if magnesium works? Dr. Oz mentioned it yesterday on Oprah.

When I did Atkins years ago, it recommended in the book to take calcium, magnesium and postassium. So it should help. But the Crystal Light Hydration works really good. I like the raspberry favor best!

That's happens when you need more potassium. That's why they recommend 1/3 of your intake water must be Crystal Light with potassium. Check the labels, since not all the crystal light has potassium.
Also, eat tomatoes and oranges (portion permited) and it is going to help you with the Charlie horse ......

Good luck
