First week total

Down 9.6 the first week. I am so glad that is over. I never thought that I would crave a vegetable, but I did half way through the first week. Now that I can have veggies, I am very confident this program is going to work for me.

Hello, I'm on day 10.

My first week I lost 10.7 lbs, 4.5 lbs of fat!

Hoping next week is just as good!

Question - does anyone ever go back to straight protein to kill a few extra pounds? Just curious.

I just got weighed in yesterday after my first week on Medi and I lost 4.5 lbs (4 lbs of which was fat) and 1" off my waist! I'm very happy with that. I started at 167 with a goal weight of 135-140.

I finally joined and decided it was time to take weight off, after all my daughter is turning 5 and there is no excuse. The first week wan't that bad, had just 2 bad days (felt deprived and hungry) other than that,, love having more energy. I lost 5 lbs the first week, 20 more to go.

Hey Tina ~ ! 5 pounds is terrific for the first week & you should have no trouble getting rid of the other 20. My goal was also 25 & I am down 28 pounds in 4 months... if I can do this, you certainly can. Welcome aboard & check out our Newbie and monthly threads... there's tons of support here.

I weighed in for the first time this morning and I was nervous that I hadn't lost anything, but I was down 7.6 pounds. Now I'm a little disappointed -- I tried to do everything to the letter and hoped to see the first 10 come off.
Has anyone stayed on the first week (just protein) portion of the plan past the first week? They said it wouldn't hurt anything, but I wonder if it would make a difference.

Ronism ~ Congratulations on your first week! You lost 17% of the weight that you want to lose in one week. That is phenomenal!!!

The amount of calories added by the veggies in week 2 are so negligible and make the program much more liveable in my opinion. Personally I was not able to add fruit without falling out of ketosis and my weight loss was best when I stuck to the veggie options.

Hi Ronism! (My last reply to you disappeared ) Anyway, congrats on your fantastic week 1 loss!!! I lost 4.5 my first week, about 6 months ago. A lot of us wish for bigger losses that first week, but don't worry, all the weight you want to lose will come off if you stick to the plan. My clinic advises against staying on week 1 (unless one doesn't lose ANY weight, or gains). They explained that a high percentage of protein over a period of time can negatively affect the kidneys. It's better to gradually work back into all your food groups with healthy, "normal" percentages. You can do it!
