Congratulations dorisdfields and slbpl61~Great results! Just keep drinking your water and sticking with this Way Of Eating (WOE)....don't look at it as a diet so much. Lowering our carbs and being in ketosis is burning off that fat and making us healthier.

I am impressed with the weightloss, but concerned also. That 15 lbs broke down as such: 1lb fat, 10.5 water, and 3.5 of fat free mass other than water. I am concerned I am burning too much muscle.

the numbers aren't completely accurate...especially in the beginning when they are really out of whack...

If you want to make sure you aren't losing muscle, try incorporating some Whey Protein(Optimum Nutrition chocolate is the most popular) ...

those tanita scales are great but alot of factors can cause different results (moisture on your feet, callouses, etc)...it's best to look at a collection of your printouts like over a month and you will see the numbers fall into line and make more sense.

Just had my first weigh in and I lost 9 lbs! Yay! 31 more to go! 5.5 of that was fat! I'm so excited considering TOM starts tomorrow and I usually gain like 5 pounds with that.

165 on 3/2
156 on 3/9

First week

I go for my first weight in tomorrow and I am very nervous. I do not feel like I have lost anything and I have followed the program totally. I am worried that if I do not see results I will not be motivated to continue.

I felt the same way my first week (and my second, and my third...) - but all the worry was for nothing. If you stick to the program it works. It really is that simple.

First weigh in: 7.5lb loss; 4.5 of it fat. Yeah ... I read the Tanita scales can be good for some body shapes and bad for others. I don't want false reports (ie lost 4.5 pound in fat, when in reality it was 3).

3rd Weigh In was Thursday - and gosh was I surprised... After my number last week, I have to admit I was kinda discouraged, and had it been any other "plan", I probably would've given up... But wowwwwww! When I met with my Dr. (who is also my OB/GYN) - I broke down crying, I mean BOOHOO'ing - and he was asking me what was wrong... I told him that I am so scared of failing... He said that my results are remarkable, and the numbers I am putting up are reflecting what I am doing. The only issue I am having right now is lack of sleep. He told me I could cut the last pill in half, and only take half, and in between tears, I was like Noooo, I want it to keep working for me lol... Gosh, I sound like such a sob story - ha ha Long story short, Tylenol Simply Sleep has been wonderful. Took 1 (only 1) - last night for the first time, and slept till 10 am. WOO HOO - OK, now i will post my results

Starting Weight - 165.8
Week 1 159.4 (down 6.4 pounds - 3.8 from fat, 2 pounds from water and .6 from muscle)
Week 2 157.6 (down 1.8 pounds - all 1.8 pounds from fat)
Week 3 153.4 (down 4.2 pounds - 2.8 from fat, 1 pound from water and .4 from muscle)

Probably not the right thread to be posting this, but thought it might be helpful for the newbies

started at 188
1st weight in: 184 (with TOM)

I lost 4 pounds. I know it should be more but it's better than where I was a week before that. Ugh! The TOM!
