You really do need to get the 128 ounces of water in every day as Susie says. It is extremely important. It is also important to get into the mindset of following the program to a "T". That is what it is all about. Forget about the word diet, the word cheat. They are no longer part of your vocabulary. And also make your expectations more realistic. Different losses for different people. Men lose differently than women. But we all lose when we follow the program. This is a major lifestyle change you are making. We are all here to support and help you. ![]() Needed to add one more thing...as Robyn says...WATER...forget the soda...that does not help you at all. (.....and I weighed more than you did at the start...so trust me...I DO know what I am talking about!) Jo Last edited by Desert-Rose7; 07-14-2009 at 02:14 PM.. |

Jo thank you, I see your stats and I see you do know what your talking about so I appreciate your advice and will probably need it again real soon.
As I posted before I drink plenty of water every day. I have no problem with water. I drink well over 128oz per day. I do follow the program to a T. I have not deviated from the program at all ...not 1 smitch. I'm very proud of myself. My scale is very accurate and I do have a Tanita also. I will stay away from it because I know how frustrating it can be. I was just asking a question, but I am not discouraged at all. I am very happy to be down 9lbs . I was just thinking it would be a little more because of my starting weight and the fact that I did not cheat at all as stated. I'm very comfy with everything and can't wait for next week. Thanx again! Dee |

I only lost 4 lbs my first weigh in. But one week prior to starting on the Medi program I had started my own diet at home and lost somewhere around 9 lbs. (Not sure on exact figure because I was weighed on two separate scales, so calibrations could have been off).
Do you think this affected my low results on my first weigh in? My nurse said it wouldn't, but I think that it's GOT to affect it since I was already almost in ketosis before I even started the program according to what they told me at my very first visit.

Hi Kristin
Your prior dieting probably did affect it because you lost 9 pounds and you say you were almost in ketosis. Follow the diet exactly, drink your water and exercise as prescribe and you will see great results. If you have more questions, just ask and good luck in week 2! Robyn |

Thanks Robin. I had my week two appt. today (down another 3...yippee!!!) and spoke to a different councelor. She said she would definately consider the week before them as the reason for lower numbers in my first week with them, and said I should count that 9 lbs into my total weightloss. So I'm feeling much better about it.
Thanks again for the input, and you look fabulous btw!![]() |

I'm doing this at home on my own because there's not a clinic near me.
Start Date: 7/30/09 ~ 213 Week 1 Loss: 8 lbs. I was happy. I had lost 7lbs the month before just trying to watch it and trying to get motivated to really start, so I was happy with 8 lbs. ![]() Blessings, Lisa |

I started Aug 1 -- my first weigh in i lost 8 pounds and week 2 I lost 3.4.
The plan is great and as I keep telling my husband, i'm growing willpower! Seeing the success everyone is having is such a motivator and I know the only way i will have the same results is to stick to the plan. It's great! |

I also posted on the newbie thread. I had my first week weigh in last night and I lost 9 pounds. I feel great, was never hungry and it almost seems too good to be true, but I will take it!!

Watchmaker, This is part of the "die-off" of your bodies dependence on carbs...and you want to be sure you are getting enough water in too! Look at a thread above "newbies" and you'll find more info...just skip to the last 2 to 3 pages. You're not in this alone!
