WOW!!! Awesome job. You are an inspiration

Day 1 is going well so far. I have a really hard time taking pills on an empty stomach so this morning was a little rough. I did manage to get the appetite suppressant and fat burner down and waited about 45 min before eating, but by the time I ate I was quite nauseated. Feeling much better now and drinking my water! Taking it 1 meal at a time for now

Happy May!!

Does anyone know of any guidelines for Medi that include things like low carb ice cream? I haven't seen anything on this and I'm curious. Bryers has Carb Smart products and I was just wondering if these are compatible with this plan.??

Great Job Jerry!!!!!

Crobyninc: Thanks for the words of encouragement. I hope you like the chicken and mushrooms - the paprika turned out really good, at least I thought so.... hubby said that I have done better. Oh well, I liked it and that's what really matters right??!!! LOL

Mommy-2-girls: Like Crobyninc said check out your Publix and if there is something you don't find ask for it. If your Publix doesn't carry something then they can and will do a special order for you. Most of the time it is a new item for your store they would like to have the item or case UPC code. Ask on here for those codes and I am sure one of us will share.

I would also suggest to both of you Land O Lakes girls to make the drive down to Tampa to the Whole Foods at I275 and Dale Mabry! They actually have some really good prices, make sure you grab their store flyer on your way in the door for great coupons and wonderful recipes. Their price on Blue Diamond Almond Milk is cheaper than Publix.

Another one of my favorite reasons for loving Whole Foods is that I can't stand the fact that most major mfgs choose to put high fructrose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils in their products! READ YOUR LABELS Did you know that Propel Fit has high fructrose corn syrup in it???!!!! AGH

Totally agree with you on that one, Nikki. That is why I love Trader Joe's...which you do not have down there in FL. But then we do not have Publix here, although we do have Whole Foods!

I have said before that reading labels has become an obsession for me...no-no's lurk in very strange places!

Meant to add that I had an dental emergency so did not make my appointment today, so I will weigh in next Friday instead. I know I have lost but I will wait for the "real" weigh in to post any results.
This is the first appointment I have missed since I began the program, but I called them and talked to them. Not quite the same, however it was good to talk to them! I did tell them what my scale said...it is about 3-4 lbs off the Tanita scale. I just do not want to post it in here as it is not "official"

Thank you Nikki! I have only shopped Whole Foods once or twice but I will be going there again soon! Any suggestions on what to look for that you don't find as easily at Publix?

Whole Foods suggestions:
Blue Diamond Almond Milk, try some of their meats and seafoods (some grass fed and alot of local), CHEESE.... talk to the cheese guy he'll let you taste something new. Their produce is great once you are out of week one that is!!LOL Tea's - the tea isle is one of my favorites, I am addicted to Tazo Zen and Green Ginger tea now. Oh - if you have a chocolate craving go to the water isle and look for the Metro Mint Water, they make a chocolate mint flavored water with NO SUGAR - zero cals zero carb and it is like drinking a mint chocolate chip :0)
Something I bet you will notice in a week or so is your taste buds will become more "awake" and the saying about eating to live not living to eat will make perfect sense.

When you get further along you'll also need to check out D'Lites (google it) down on South Dale Mabry and the Sunshine Thrift store further down almost to Gandy Blvd (high end clothes and rock bottom $$$, perfect for the losers we are!)

I would suggest Buffalo Exchange for clothes as well. They are not located in Florida, where many of you are, but they are located in a lot of other places where other members are. Here is their website:

Store Locations - Buffalo Exchange New & Recycled Fashion

I have been able to find good "stuff" there. And they have purchased my clothing straight out - which they do sometimes.

Just a suggestion for those who live nearby one of their stores.

Good morning everyone We have a birthday party today for one of my daughter's friends, but I think I'll manage. I am usually too busy running after my girls to sit down and eat much. I figure when the food time comes I'll use that opportunity to feed my little one her solids and that will keep my hands busy.

Have a great day!

Good Morning all and happy Saturday morning!

A tradition I have had is to watch Food Network on Saturday mornings while reading the paper and having coffee. Today was no exception, but I watched a show that really caught my eye because a lot of the recipes can be tweated to be Medi Friendly. Here is the link: Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger : Food Network

Susie and Jo, you two probably already know about it but I found it to be exciting because there are now some newer possibilities out there!

Have a great weekend to all!

Went to weigh in on Thursday and gained up 5.2 but they said I am retaining water so like you all say forgive and forget. The important thing is that I am back. Next week weigh in on Wednesday.

Way to go all losers and to the newbies glad to see you found us and great success on MWL!
wb roe-glad you getting back on track!
crobyn-I watch the Food Network about every Saturday morning too and Ellie is awesome-I think the same way-that her recipes could be tweaked for us!
jbiggars-awesome pics!!! You are such an inspiration for us all!
Mommy-2-All-Once you get used to the plan, it will get easier! Just remember to get in ALL your protein and water. Both are very important! The water will be easy though, those app suppressants dry you out

I had my weigh-in on Thursday, lost 1.5lbs BUT also lost 2lbs of fat
However, I'm still waiting for the elusive "onederland"
My in-laws are here So must run. Have a great weekend!!

Congrats everyone! keep it up!

The last 2 weeks I lost 1.5 pounds each week... a little slower then I would like (3 pounds in 2 weeks). Just an fyi I am not on the appetite suppressant & I am also vegetarian (700 calories per day plus 2 cups of veg)- On average, I see that I roughly have about 900 calories per day (total), aiming to eat less! I am trying to cut down on exercising so I don't get so hungry. Overall I feel great, I fit into clothes I have not worn in 5 years! Loving it!! I was a size 16 and now I am a loose 14, just had my suite pants taken in... YAY! I am going on vacation in 12 days (to the Greek Islands) so I am thinking about my action plan so I don't gain weight while I am gone. My husband and I will do a lot of walking so that should help.

My motivation comes from reminding myself… I did not get this way overnight so I can’t expect to lose it like that. I celebrate the small things, knowing that after a couple weeks and even after a couple of months- these small things will add up to be the change I am seeking.

Robyn,
I do not have cable (although may need to go that route shortly with the conversion to digital...) so I do not know about the show, so thank you much for the introduction! Much appreciated!

FYI to all, I only have three entries for total weight lost for April. Just drop me a PM if you want to be included.

Thanks. I hadn't seen this before and it was good. I watched the portabello mushroom benidict recipe and that seemed completely medi. I will have to give that one a try, but I will add the hollendaise sauce to it.

Susie

p.s. There have been some great recipes added lately. Can't wait to try them.

Medi is a MIRACLE

I just wanted to say that I LOVE MEDI. I have tried every diet known to mankind (since I was 13 years old) and nothing has worked as successful as Medi. In 6 weeks, I have lost 22+ pounds. At my last weigh-in, I was floored when the scale did not show an actual weight loss. However, when the nurse and I read the printout, I had LOST THREE POUNDS OF FAT and GAINED THREE POUNDS OF MUSCLE!! I also had a little exta water weight but I know that was because I had worked out really hard that week and had some muscle soreness.

I have not felt this GREAT in YEARS!

I'm getting so many comments from people about how GREAT I look - it feels really weird. I'm only 10 days away from being FIFTY -- BUT I have to admit, I look better now than I did when I was FORTY!
