BTW... According to my scale at home I was at 160 this morning, only 5 pounds away from goal. My scale lines up very closely with the clinics. I haven't been to the clinic in 2 1/2 weeks due to the graduation trip, but I have stayed on plan. I will do this and I will make it to maintenance!

Great job Susie

Hi everyone. I'm new, and I'd like to say that I'm so inspired by you all and what you've all accomplished!

I had my first weight in this week, down 7.4 pounds. It's a good day.

Hey guys, I need another restaurant consultation! My mom told me today that she is planning a big party for my Dad's 60th birthday on June 6th at Bern's steakhouse here in Tampa. Those of you from this area probably know it. It is pretty much the height of decadance.

Here is their menu:
http://www.bernssteakhouse.com/Porta...BSH%20Menu.pdf

I plan to stay with seafood (not really a big beef person anyway) and am leaning towards fish, shrimp, or scallops and I'll ask for custom sides. Every meal comes with french onion soup, a salad, toast, etc. I think I will ask for the soup w/o bread in it, etc.

Could anybody who has time take a look? I want to enjoy the evening with my family and friends without having to focus too much on the food, so I would like to decide in advance what to order and take that pressure off.

I'm certain we will also go to the dessert room but they have a fresh fruit plate that I'm comfortable getting.

TIA!!!

Hey everyone. It's going to take me a while to catch up on all of the posts but I wanted to send out a belated congrats to all of last weeks losers! I managed to gain half a pound and fall out of ketosis while on vacation but overall did better then expected! I'll be going back to protein only for a few days and am hoping to be a few lbs. down (from where I was before leaving) when I go back to the clinic next week!

Okay Jessica, here is what I would do:

No Soup
No Potato
No Onion rings
Ask the waiter not to bring those on your plate

Steakhouse Salad with Cabernet Sauvignon Vinaigrette on the side
Berns Veggies, but ask for just the steamed broccoli

For the entree I would pick on of these (the Chateaubriand there is to die for)
1. Five oz Chateaubriand
2. Fresh charcoal grilled boneless chicken breast
3. Charcoal grilled Shrimp but make sure spicy butter is on the side
4. Charcoal grilled day boat Scallops again make sure the spicy butter is on the side

Before you go, make sure you eat light during the day and drink a lot of water before going. Keep your calories low during the day, so that you can enjoy this very special event.

Of course it goes without saying, the dessert room upstairs is going to be hard. I don't know if you will have the calories left to have the fruit plate, you may want to just go with coffee and cream.

I love Berns, there is nothing like it!

Congratulations on your sons graduation. Great picture. Is the big smile for the graduation or how great you look, bet a little (or a lot) of both. Great job to both of you.

Weighed in Wed. and another pound gone but 3 lbs. of fat, yuck! Looking forward to hitting the 130's, maybe this week. Need to drink more water. Slow and steady wins the race.

Wow.... I can see by the responses that noone gets a thing I am trying to say to help...

This was the advice I was given by the Medi Practitioners, in more than one state... about having diet-approved treats available for moments of weakness.

For those who "a moment of weakness" may apply to, I am trying to offer advice and support. That is all. Agree or Disagree as you wish, but this is straight from MEDI.

I knew I shouldn't have had those 3 beer broiled then BBQ'd brauts! After losing at least 2 pounds every week this year and averaging 5.8 pounds per week, I had a pitiful weigh-in this week. Still had a loss.....1/2 pound! UGH! Ok, Ok....live and learn...back at it!

Hi guys...I have a tummy virus today and feel really awful. Pretty sure I got it from my guy's mama when I took her over my "freezer fodder". (I cleaned out the deep freeze of all the homemade, beautiful frozen handmade pastas and such. Sorted out the frozen veg and meat and discovered a few treasures!) Anyway, it's all chicken broth for me today.

Rach

I am confused? What responses are you talking about with the diet approved treats?

If you were offended by something that was said, I'm sure it wasn't personal, we are all here to help each other and offer as much support as we can. Like I said, I don't don't know what responses you are referring to here. Please explain further!

And I agree we all have moments of weaknesses, heck that is why we are here in the first place lol!

Rach,

I agree with everything you have had to say and feel it is very realistic. I think the planning is what keeps us on track. I think everyone would agree that we should not plan to cheat and when it does happen we need to get back on track as soon as possible, be accountable and not let it spiral out of control. I do not think having diet-approved treats available for moments of weakness is cheating, it is smart planning. I think Jo would agree.

There has been a couple of times when someone has suggested that they're clinic has given them permission to have occassional cheat meals where they eat off plan. Most of on this forum think that is a mistake as we all believe this to be a lifestyle and not a diet that you go on and off of.

Your posts are encouraging, supportive and informative. Please keep sharing. It is good to hear different opinions and get new ideas. Personally I have gotten some of the best ideas and learned way more about this lifestyle on this forum than from my clinic (and I go to a wonderful clinic).

Anda~Do what you need to in order to feel better...and feel better soon...you are doing beautifully on the program...and I know you will be super successful!

Sofar~WTG..keep up the good work! and !

Jerry~Half a pound is still half a pound! And look at how great you look! What an inspiration you are...I would take the half a pound and run with it!

Jessica~Off to take a peek at the restaurant. Reading what both you and Robyn have said...wow...land mines in that place. I am sure there are some good choices...Robyn found some, and I am sure I can too!
