Here is the nutritional info on Fiber One:

What is the secret for dealing with how sticky these things are. I have made a mess. I do not like Splenda. I made these without it. Is that my problem?

I liked them but I did NOT follow the recipe. I found that if you use Jif creamy PB and MRM vanilla protein powder, it tasted really good. I didn't ever add sweetener and then I rolled them in crushes almonds or almond meal. I would describe mine as gooey but not sticky...if there's a difference

protein bars

I think I may be addicted to the chocolate medi protein bars. How often are we allowed to eat them per week? Do people use them as a once in a while treat, or if calories allow, every day. I was concerned about the number of carbs in them.

Thanks!

I feel the same way about the chocolate protein bars! I love sweets and it really helps me out. I must admit that I've been using them as a snack and I was wondering if this was okay as well.

Zip n Steam

I just joined this website last night after stumbling upon it.. I've been doing Medi since January 5th and lost 30 pounds so far..

I just wanted to throw in this thread that you can put frozen chicken or fish, along with vegetables, in the Ziploc Zip n Steam bags and microwave them for about 6 minutes and you have a finished meal! This is a very exciting discovery for me, It usually takes me an hour to cook a frozen chicken breast in the oven, and they taste the exact same!

I have a question about chicken. My DH went shopping for me last night and came home with boneless chicken thighs.. I asked him to get chicken tenders.. OMG now what can I do with them. I just re-started week 1 after losing momentum due to an illness in the family.

Really you can use these just about any way you would use the chicken tenders or chicken breasts. Being dark meat they count as 55 calories per ounce (I think....check your material) instead of 35 calories per ounce for the chicken breast......BUT I REALLY prefer thighs/legs. IMO they are much more moist, and flavorful.

Since you're doing week 1 again, you can grill, broil, or pan "fry" them. Add some good seasoning to them, and enjoy. Next week try them in stir-fry, or IF you freeze them (after trimming off any of the BIG pieces of fat that always seem to be attached) you can then put them FROZEN (DO NOT THAW) into a slow cooker, and add about 3/4 C of your favorite salsa and let it cook the day, then serve with FF sour cream, and some low fat shredded cheese.....it's the easiest meal around......when you get to maintenance add 2 cans of black beans to the chicken and salsa while cooking! I made this even before Medi!

Kiss your DH for being a good guy and shopping!

Hi VElite, welcome...
We must go to the same center. They never gave me a free sample, but my sister just reached her goal and shared her "leftovers" with me. I had my first shake today and loved it. The scoop is rather big so I would say that the sample is one (1) serving. I recommend the vanilla. My sis made some great pancakes using cottage cheese and the vanilla shake..I'm pretty sure the instructions are on here somewhere. Good luck and I hope to connect with you again soon... Jean

Sounds great, but I guess I have to wait until next week (week2)? I am going to the Warwick (Cranston) office. What week are you in?

I go there too! Sorry it took me so long to answer. I've been busy caring for my mom. Because of her hospitalization, I ended up doing week 1 over by choice. I lost 5.9 pounds when I did week one. Now I am going to weigh in again tomorrow. Hopefully, I will have lost a little more weight.

Anyone know if these pancakes are ok for week 1? the ingredients seem to be week one approved: LF cottage cheese, protein powder and egg whites.

I really hope so because I am soooooo tired of meat. Sigh.
