Question about adding veggies and fruit
Hey all! I am on my last day of week 1, and everything is going great! I am just wondering about adding in veggies and 1 fruit -- did it slow down your weight loss once you added those in? I'm wondering if I should start week 2 by adding one veggie serving, then week 3 adding 2, then the next week adding my 1 fruit serving? Any thoughts you all have about how to go about incorporating the veggies and one fruit successfully without slowing down the rate of loss? Thanks so much!!

babyboyst, it did not slow down my weight loss at all. I added both servings right away. I am not a big fruit person so I usually add 2 veggies each day. Occasionally, I will add an apple or strawberries, but otherwise I stick to veggies. I ususally save my veggies for dinner time and that way I can fix the family a pretty normal dinner and eat with them.

At this point in my program, I went prepared with questions to my appointment and spoke candidly with my counselor. All of my questions were answered and I am very comfortable adding both fruits and veggies in the proper amounts to my daily intake. I do not expect to lose huge amounts of weight each week, beyond week 1. I am happy with 1-3 lbs per week. Losing too fast is not healthy or safe. I have hit the 50 lb mark by following exactly what my counselor has suggested that I do, so, again, I am very comfortable with what I consume each day. This truly is a lifestyle change more than a "diet" as such. Once I understood this simple fact, everything fell into place for me. This is just my own opinion and my own experience.
