Good night everybody!
Today it was my 6th weigh in. 3 pounds lost! I lost 6 pounds of fat, but gained 3 pounds of water ... (TOM) Water comes and goes .... fat goes and goesssss far far away Congratulations everyone and welcome to the new people, you have come to the right place! I am leaving on Thursday for a 2 weeks vacation. I am a little nervous about it. I will see how good is my willpower to be back on n track as soon as I am back and do not lose control during my trip! wish me luck! Last edited by orlando2002; 04-21-2009 at 08:12 PM.. |

Hey guys! I freaked out for nothing! Ketostix at dr's office were right in the middle/moderate where I like to be. Mine are obviously bad. Lost 3 lbs of fat for a total of 21 since March 11! I almost fell off the scale! I'm so excited and feel so bad for having a small meltdown Sunday. My sweet Richard kept telling me that this is a process, it takes time and he was proud of what I had accomplished so far. I was so upset. We both had to chuckle when I told him of the loss! Have a big charity event for Diabetes Association tomorrow that I am chairing and I might have a steak! (with asparagus and salad with spray dressing, of course!) Thanks for letting me vent last night. Heck, I may make 30 lbs by end of April after all! Getting new ketostix tomorrow!

LHR218 - Congrats on your loss this week! Hey, if you can't vent here, where else can you? Everyone completely understands the same frustrations! Glad it worked out for you.
![]() Orlando - Have a fantastic vacation. You have been so strong so far, and you will do great staying on plan. Just remember your shopping session with your husband and how great you felt! That will be good motivation if you feel a moment of weakness coming on. Justin - Way to go on your first week! This is a great kick off to the coming months and you will be so surprised at how great you start to feel. More importantly, you will be amazed at what you will be able to accomplish for your health in such a short amount of time. Keep up the good work! ![]() |

End of week 1, first weigh-in last night... I'm down 8.8
I'm so glad to eat some salad and veggies. I have some questions on what is allowed though. My center is not very informational. I was a little surprised when the person I met with didn't even look at my log? I see all of these recipies with mirical noodles, can I have that yet? I was told 2 c salad, and 2 veggies per day, 500 calories of protein and 20-30 carbs(from veggies)? I also wanted to ask about Morning Star brand veggie burgers and things like that? I have more questions but I'm at work. I'll can in after lunch. Thanks for the support! Michelle |

April 1st!! We are heading to the beach this afternoon for a long weekend, and i'm fully confident that i'll continue to stay 100% on plan while i'm away. I tried it for around 4 days and it did not work for me. So i went to Walgreens and picked up an overnight stool softener like Colace and take that as needed, its been much more effective for me personally. HTH!!

Does any one else get a 'cheat meal'
When I first started the program (March 21st) the Dr. at my clinic said he allows one 'cheat meal' a week. Not a go-crazy, anything goes meal but a meal within reason that's not medi compliant. Was anyone else told this? Do you use it and how significantly does that impact your weight loss for the week? I haven't used the 'cheat-clause' at all since starting because I'm afraid it would de-rail my progress. I was down 26 lbs at my 4-week weigh-in (last friday) and want to keep it going. Thanks
P.S. Congrat's to everyone. I see such amazing accomplishments on all of your posts! It's inspiring!

Congratulations Orlando, LHR, Justin, Michelle babyboyst and Troy on your losses this week!
I had my firt weigh-in today and I've lost 7 pounds. I have the same question as want2lose2, I don't know how to incorporate the miracle noodles on my diet. do they count as veggies or snacks....or they don't count at all? Is it true that I have to still eat my 500 calories of protein but add 100 calories between veggies, or 1 fruit and veggie and snacks? I don't want to mess it up!!! |

I have used it. I also use a fiber powder in my water. I believe that the combination of the 2 works for me without being too much. This diet has seriously effected my bowel movement. I don't think I would be able to go with out the supplements.

You are the first one to ever mention a "Cheat Meal". Personally, while that sounds interesting, it would scare me. Now that I have all the processed food out of my system I don't want to bring it back and start the cravings again. I'd also be worried that the cheat meal would end up a cheat binge. Maybe that is the point of not going crazy. I guess we each have to determine what kind of self control we have. I am an all or none kind of a person. Once I start cheating it becomes a game for me. I have done that on many a diet, only to fail once again. You are doing so well, I mean 26 pounds in 4 weeks is amazing. I remember one of your previous posts where you said that the plan was taking over your life and slowing down time. Do you still feel that way? Maybe you do need to make it more liveable by having the occassional splurge. I think you need to be the judge. Sorry I'm not more help. Susie |

It does help and I agree with you it would be much too easy for a cheat meal to turn into a cheat binge as I am notorious for that. I don't have an overwhelming desire to cheat, to be honest the diet itself has been pretty easy and I'm starting to get over the feeling that the diet is all I think about. I wasn't used to thinking about food and reading labels and journaling so at the beginning I would get to the end of the day and felt like I had put a weeks worth of effort & thought into that one day which made me feel like time was dragging. But as I've gotten more familiar with the program and more aware of the nutritional content of foods it has become a normal routine. I do keep having to remind myself to be patient and not to expect to see dramatic results overnight. I'm still trying to stop my compulsion to weigh myself every morning as I'm sure that's not helping either. Thanks for the encouragement! |

MrsP and Susie,
It's pretty wierd, but just today at my weigh-in, both the Tech and the Nurse-practitioner suggested that I have a "Cheat meal." They both aske dif I had cheated on the diet at all since beginning it, then said to go ahead and do it. Just spend the next three days on week one. I dont think that I'm going to avail myslef of the opportunity unless its a VERY special occasion. Then, prolly not. I'm thinking a "cheat meal" while you're having active cravings is a recipe for disaster. Susie, you mentioned cravings. I've been in 4 weeks now and have had no serious cravings except for just recently. I'd kill for a bucket of movie popcorn and/or a CHicken-Fried Steak with taters and gravy. Don't know why this is happening, but, it is. Also, things have gotten a lot tougher for me in the late evening. That may be in part because of the wierd Cop schedule I keep, but I'm unsure. I'm doing all three supressants (sp?) during the day and all the suppliments. Any advice? Troy
