Gretta,
I have been on maintainance since December 2008. While in maintainance your weight fluctuates a few pounds on either side of your goal. Nothing major and by the time you get to that point you know what you need to do to correct any situation you may get in to. Right now I am dealing with the restricted exercise from the appendix removal but it is going fine. Exercise program is extremely boring right now but it will get better in another 3 weeks when I can get back to normal. McBoo |

I am Lala. Thanks for asking. The only thing I am dealing with now is my boring workout. No lifting for another 3 weeks. Some exercise is better than no exercise but it is driving me crazy. Congratulations on your loss this week. You are doing great. ![]() McBoo |

No I don't go to the clinic for weekly visits. I plan on going once every 6 months just for the accountability. I have been on maintainance since December.

hello all!
Way to go you guys on all the losses!! its awesome! Sorry i have been MIA this week.. wasnt feeling too great due to tom but im taking some iron now. my appetite hasnt been much at all, but then some nights it hits me like a ton of bricks! I weighed in thursday and lost 3.4 lbs for a total of 14.4 in 4 weeks. I am very happy with that and hope to lose more before i move up north! The only struggle is with sweet cravings! Man, at night is when i want like chocolate. I am going to find a recipe somewhere to help me out! Any Suggestions? Ashley |

Great job. I can't believe it has already been 4 weeks. One thing I discovered recently for the chocolate craving is to melt 1/2 of a square of Baker's Unsweetened Baking Chocolate in the microwave. Then mix in 2 packets of Truvia. This makes a great dip for strawberries or almonds. 1/2 of a square has 70 calories, 7g fat, 4g carbs, and 2g fiber. Plus you need to account for the carbs in the strawberries or whatever you add to the chocolate mixture. I don't do this very often as it is high in fat, but once in a while it hits the spot. The chocolate is bitter and has a dark chocolate taste, but I love dark chocolate. Susie |

Ashley,
Great job. You are doing fantastic. For the sweet cravings you may want to try the pudding recipe in the recipe thread. It really is satisfying. McBoo |

The best chocolate I've found with the lowest carbs is Lindt Excellence 85% cocoa bar...Lindt - Excellence 85% Cocoa Bar
4 squares are 210 calories, 8g of carbs and 3g of dietary fiber. It's very smooth and very dark chocolaty! Another thing I like is Diet A&W Root Beer with a tbls of heavy whipping cream. Not sure if that's allowed, but its a great Atkins friendly 'snack'. |

I want to share this ....
In January, I was wearing pants size 16 and tops XXL. Since I am going on vacations and all my clothes look very bad, even the smallest I have in my closet, I have to buy a pair of pants and some tops ... I went shopping today. I bought 3 pants size TENNNNNN and 4 tops Size LARGE. I can't believe I can wear a pant size 10 ...... I am supper happy! |

Congrats orlando2002~
I have never worn a size 10 in my life - perhaps before I reached 5'11"! You must feel absolutely MAHVELOUS!!! I need to do a little shopping as well. I have 8 pairs of beautiful JJill pants and jeans that fall off me - so I have called our local Buffalo Exchange and they told me to bring them in and they will purchase them from me. They do not get many tall jeans/pants and they love JJill! They either purchase or you consign so either way, that will be a win win. I am down two sizes now almost 3. So I need some new white jeans! Since we are talking about smaller clothes, my husband has been doing "medi" with me only he is doing 1200 calories per day, the weight control one a day vitamins, B12 tablet and 2 fiber tablets. Anyway he has been very successful. So today I told him his t-shirts look like rags on him and to try a 2XL shirt! It not only did it fit but was comfortable and he looked great! It made his day and mine. As for me, I am still loving that my clothes are loose coming out of the closet and I don't have to "break them in" to feel right - lol!

I love tossing my clothes (like jeans) in the dryer, and wearing them right out of the dryer; instead of washing them and hanging them up to dry (so they don't shrink!). Now, I WANT them to shrink so they fit a little better till I get new ones!

I hear you Jo. When I was losing weight in the acute phase I went out and bought a few things at the local department store outlet. I wasn't going to spend a lot of money on clothes I wasn't going to be able to wear in a few weeks.
I was almost to the point of looking like Jethro from the Beverly Hillbillies with my belt pulled real tight to keep them up. Thought about just tying a rope around my waist to keep them up. LOL McBoo |

Jo,I too have washed and dryed clothing that I normally hang to dry. I read that if you wash a "dry clean only" outfit it will shrink one size so I washed a dress in cold water on delicate cycle and tossed it into the dryer. It actually did shrink enough for me to wear it on Easter. I did have to purchase a pair of black dress slacks to get me by.
It would be great to have a clothing exchange at the clinic so we all could transition into smaller sizes without the expense! Sherrie |

I agree about not buying clothes when we are losing weigh, because it is a waste of money .... the problem is that I am going on vacations, to see my family and they havent see me in 2 years and I do not want to look "saggy" :P
That's why I onlly bought 3 pants and 4 tops. Everything was in the 50% of the original reduced price rack and my husband did not pay more than $100 for evertything ... I have been alterating some of my old clothes to wear them day to day. But this trip is so special .... I want to look neat |

Weighed in today and lost 2 pounds in only 5 days since I weighed in last week on a different day due to Easter Vacation. I missed the big 5 - 0 by .4 of a pound.
![]() I have been very lucky on the clothes side. I had several co workers give me some clothes that they had set out for charity because they did not fit. Some fit right away and others I held on to for a few more pounds. |
