Jen, I know exactly what you are going through. As I said in my previous post I was told by the clinic on several occasions (those that have been here for a while will remember) that I was working out too much for the calories I was consuming. Everytime I didn't listen to the advise my weight loss was lower that week. When I listened to what the clinic had to say I was right back on the path to success. I know it doesn't sound logical but it does work. Only you can choose the path you want to take. Good luck. McBoo

![]() Erin, Of course you are welcome here. Some of my friends are going to a clinic in our area that is similar to Medi , they get shots,, appetite supressents and are on low carb but they can have more calories and carbs than allowed on Medi. Some people try to combine programs but IMHO I feel that if you pay for a program you should stick to the guide lines. Let us know how you are doing and please come here for encouragement. Sherrie |

Thanks for the welcome! When I go on May 6, I will get all the information for the plan I will be on. I am going to stick with the one my doctor prescribes for me because that will be the one I am participating in and yes....paying for LOL... it is really interesting to see how the Medi is working for everyone here. Everyone seems to have been really succesful with it so I am hoping that at least a similar plan will work for me. Thanks again for the welcome

Good Morning everyone! I am home from vacation. I am very relaxed even though I have graduate school work due today. I found myself even though I was not following the plan making good choices on food. I do have to say, I was not that good when it came to the fruitie drinks. I am home and back to eatting Week 1 until I am back in ketosis. I have to say, that family time was great. If you have not done a cruise before, I highly recommend it. If you ever get a chance to swim with Dolphins, don't pass it up. Awesome experience, expecially for my five year old.
Everyone is doing awesome on losing. I think I am going to take the boys to the beach this afternoon for a long walk and then some fun on the Wii fit.

Only lost 1/2 pound this week but was ok with it since I was out of town and not in control of what I could eat. I walked a ton which I am grateful for because I think it would have been a gain if I had not exercised. I am so close to 50 pounds, I am hoping it will happen this week. I am at 47.6 pounds down in 17 weeks.
Way to go Jbiggars63!!!! |

Home from my appointment, and down another 3.5 this week. Revising my exercise schedule has really made a difference. Although I would love to really push it harder, I am finding out that less is actually more. I still walk every day, and alternate biking and rowing. And it is working. So, I have to say that I agree with McBoo and also with Susie (who also ran into the same problem earlier on).
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend! Jo |

You are doing great. It really is amazing about the exercise. If you would have told me about exercising less before I started this program I would not have beleived it. Everytime I didn't listen to the clinic my weight loss slowed and when I did what they said it picked right back up. I guess that is why they are the experts and they get paid for it. McBoo |

Congrats to all the losers this week.. JBiggars, your weight loss is incredible!
Thank you everyone for your advice last week again. I went in and got my mid week shot (ate and worked out about the same) and lost 2lbs!!!! I am soooooo HAPPY! My BMI dropped to 25.8, once I get below 25 (about 5lbs!!!) they take away the appetite suppresents. Has anyone had any problems making that transition? I LOVE working out, but this diet has made me scared of doing it too much. I use to do 2-a-days 5 times a week and teach dance. Now aside from dance I might work out two or three times. I figure once I get to my goal weight then I can start weight lifting again. But I understand the confusion about the "more is less" concept. If you don't believe it, try it one week and see how your body reacts Thank you again for all the support last week! |

Why are they taking you off the appetite suppresants at that point? The clinic I go to does not do that until you are at or close to goal. F.Y.I. I had no problem with the transition off the appetite suppressants. McBoo |

McBoo,
They told me that once my BMI is under 25 then I need to go off the appetitie suppresants. In 5lbs my BMI will be under 25. The goal weight that I set is below a 25 BMi. Did they not do that with you? |

McBoo, Did you stay in ketosis most of the time when you were in the acute phase?

Gretta, To be honest with you I was usually small to moderate when I was testing. After 2 bad batches of test strips I stopped testing. I was happy as long as I was losing weight. The clinic knew that I was sticking to the plan as prescribed so they didn't worry about me not testing. You may want to check your strips also. I know there were some bad batches of the medi strips. My clinic replaced them for free when they were bad. McBoo |

I had a bad batch of strips and my clinic also replaced them for me. I usually run from small to moderate as well. And it depends on just how hard I row or ride that makes the difference. If I row at a moderate pace and ride at a moderate pace I stay in moderate, but if I really push it, I drop to small...and sometimes drop out completely.
My clinic also knows I am right on plan, and they do not worry about what stage of ketosis I am in. For what it's worth! :-) Jo |
