Just a quickie question :)

Hi folks - just a quickie question

Of course I will find this out at my first appointment
butttt (smile)

I realize the first few weeks are very low calorie (to be expected of course)

Then I was told that we are phased into a calorie level appropriate for our goal weight.

I understand the concept ... but doesn't that slow the progress down significantly? I mean - what about an in-between amount?

Does anyone have a chart or such that demonstrates what the appropriate calorie amount is for certain height, age, etc.?
I mean specifically for this plan.
There are Many on the web and all contradictory.

thanks

The information about what your calorie consumption should be to maintain your current weight is on your Tanita read-out. You will see 2 numbers after BMR, the second one which is followed by kcal is the number of calories per day you could consume to maintain your current weight. To lose weight you need to eat less than that number and create further energy deficit by exercising...good luck!

They do not increase your calorie intake much. I went from 500 the first week. I have between 500 and 650 now. I get 500 in protein and the rest is my veggies. I do not eat much fruit. It throws me out of ketosis.

Thanks Mathteacher that was what I meant

I was thinking they would put us on the calorie level for goal weight within a month or 2

I just had my first appointment yesterday (woo) and found out that 500+ diet is for many months

I'll have to just get used to it - woo hoo

Patricesue,

You will get used to it. It will become second nature after the first couple of weeks. It really teaches you portion control.

Good luck.
