Shas~I am prowling about looking for cookbooks also. If I find something, I will certainly share it in here!

I am not sure how much this will help with stretch marks...but there is a product called Mederma that works well on scars. There is also a VERY expensive product called StriVectin that is supposed to work on stretch marks too. I believe that both can be found at Walgreens, Ulta, and also drugstore.com.

Well all, my news isn't good. Apparently I am one of those who can't do this diet. I got a frantic call from my doctor today and I basically have a medicine induced hepatitis from the appetite suppressant combined with the high protein very low carb diet. My doctor actualy said I am the third person on this diet she has seen with this issue. So while it may be great for a vast majority of people, for some this diet causes major health issues. I have to have my blood rechecked this week and each week for awhile until it gets better, and have to have a full abdomen ultrasound as they think my spleen (and maybe gallbladder & pancreas) may be involved as I have pain on both the right and left side (actually the left hurts much worse than the right). I truly apreciate all the help and support I found here, and wish you all great success! Wish it had worked for me, but I will find something. My doctor said she will help me after I get some things under control.

Sherry-

I actually plan on tanning soon. I have to have a spot removed on my back and want to wait until after I have had it removed before I start tanning again. I am just noticing them a whole lot. Thanks, I think I am going to see if tanning helps and then try your other two suggestions. THanks!

Danielle,
So sorry you can't stay on the plan! Maybe you can still do low carb without the meds after you get better. Either way you are a winner!
Best Wishes for your success!

Jeffery's girl- I hear ya. I have been on the plan for 25 days and have lost 10 pounds... and lost nothing in the last 10 days... (maybe a pound). All I can say is hang in there. Focus on the good things, how you feel. I know that my clothes are loosening up, my measurements are coming down slowly- this will motivate you to stay the course. It didn't take me a month to put on the weight so I can't expect it all to go away within "my time frame". Stick with it, and drink LOTS of water and more water. It can take some body's time to adjust and change, be patient with yourself.

My motivation comes from reminding myself… I did not get this way overnight so I can’t expect to lose it like that. I celebrate the small things, knowing that after a couple weeks and even after a couple of months- these small things will add up to be the change I am seeking.

"Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going."

Anyone have any suggestions about getting rid or making them less visible of stretch marks? I am really starting to see them with the weight I have lost.

Everybody is doing a great job! Keep it up! This group has helped me tremendously. I picked up two new recipes at the clinic today that I am going to try to scan in.

Does anybody have any suggestions on any good cookbooks?

Now that is the weight loss I want to see! You are doing great. As far as the stretch marks are concerned, tanned skin will make them less noticable. Sherrie

I usually go to the clinic on Tuesday nights for the MIC shot and Friday's are my weigh in. I get both the MIC and the B6 shot (at my weigh in)- I always get a surge of energy... I am wondering if anyone had the MIC/B6 shots twice a week and if they felt a difference. Is there such a thing as too much B6 in a week? Just wondering. I might do both shots tonight.

I cannot really say if they make a difference, truly. I only did the B6 the first visit, and I only go in once a week, and take only the MIC shot. I asked my clinician last week about this. She told me that the clinic's two stars, who both lost over 100 lbs, took only the MIC and were very successful. I do take B6 and B12 as vitamin supplements each day however.

Shas,

I scanned them in at 75 dpi and saved them as jpeg files using my Epson scanner. They need to be fairly low resolution in order to upload them. The limit is 100 kb. Then when you post you will click the paper clip and it will allow you to upload and attach your jpeg file. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

JROOTA,

Go to the User Control Panel (all the way on the left on the blue bar). Then select Edit Avatar (on the left) and pick the Custom Avatar option (scroll down for this option).
You may need to upload again. Make sure your custom avatar is not too big.

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum, and am soooo excited that I found it! All of you have so much great advice and support to offer that it seems like this diet won't be so bad. So thank you in advance

This is my second week on the program. I lost 8lbs. last week and could not have thought that eating all that protein was worth it... but it REALLY was

I am a little disappointed in this week... I have been sticking to the plan, I added in the 2 cups of veggies (I am choosing not to do fruit yet), its been 4 days and I haven't lost anything. Has anyone else had this problem? I know that it's not going to all come off in 4 days, but it's also not going to disappear in the next 3 days either (my weigh-in is on Sats).

Any advice would be appreicated. Thank you!

One thing you really do not want to do to yourself is to weigh every day. Weight fluctuates up and down, and you will only frustrate yourself weighing every day. My
clinic advised about this the first day I walked in there. It is a hard habit to break, but it will be better for you in the long run.

Weigh-in Update

Hello all!

I lost another 1.5 pounds, same as last week. I didn't think I really lost any because I had some wine (my birthday) and accidentally ate something (about 5 bites) with white beans in it on Sunday.

All 1.5lbs was fat. So I was happy about that part.

I'm exercising a lot more, so that should amp it up some more...
Have a great week, everyone!

Are you getting all your water in? It is very important. Also weighing yourself everyday is only going to frustrate you. Good luck with your weigh in this Saturday.

Just a suggestion, but tanning as we all know is not good for the skin. Especially if you are already having a spot removed. I was a true sunworshipper,(even worked at a tanning salon when I was a teenager) but now I use Loreal Sublime bronze self tanner, it works great! Plus, sometimes the stretch marks show up more with tanning.

Hey all...day 4 for me, the first 2 were very trying (didn't help that it was Sat & Sun)! I've been in ketosis since yesterday morning (yes, i checked before the 4th day but i was so anxious to dip and see lol)

I went for my injections today and really look forward to getting on the scale Friday morning. I have been working so hard this week and I am looking forward to carrying out my mission for health!

I bought a bunch of fresh tilapia and some awesome 0 calorie/0 carb seasoning very low in sodium as well! Threw it on the grill and wow was it awesome!

Thanks for all of the advice!! I will definitely be back Friday with my results :-)

I've been looking back over my food journal and think I know what I have been doing wrong. I have been eating Oscar Meyer Deli meats because they are low in calories and zero carbs. But they are also low in protein grams. I have been eating the right amount of calories but not getting very many protein grams. I think my body has been starving!
So today I bought some fresh chicken, pork, fish, and steak, purchased a counter top grill and started doing this thing the right way. I hope this will put my weight loss in high gear!
