OK- still feeling sick, but lost 3 more pounds - total of 24.5 pounds gone! The best news was...9 inches off my waist in just 7 weeks. I couldn't believe it. No wonder I had to go shopping for new clothes... and how about returning a pair of pants b/c they got too BIG before I could wear them! That was a blast!

Unfortunately not feeling much better. Go see my doctor tomorrow for a follow-up. Getting tired of this for sure. Especially since tomorrow we have an all outdoor play day at my school tomorrow...hoping to just survive.

Thanks for your concern!

That is so cool!! I can't believe how fast the inches are falling off either. My belly and waist are going down like a deflated balloon.
I going to have to buy new pants soon but I just want to wear the ones with the saggy behind for a while.

Wow! Everyone is doing so well! Whether losing steadily or rebalancing, being here is such a wonderful thing. I have had some slow loss last week and am nervous about tomorrow's weigh in. I know that I have already come so far, but sometimes I read about the weekly losses of others and can't help feeling like I am doing something wrong. I started doing the additional shots this week, hoping that will help. More scary for me is my first dress fitting for my wedding dress tomorrow. I have lost (as of last week) 16 lbs since the last time I put on the dress and just don't know what to expect. I am sure that most everyone here has had a similar fear...

Any suggestions on how to increase my losses, will gladly be embraced!

Don't know how to increase, but just want to wish you luck. I know those slow weeks are a bummer. Keep it up and embrace those big loss weeks We didn't put it on overnight, so it does take time, but slow and steady wins the race. God luck at your dress fitting...it will be marvelous!

I agree with Danielle. Slow and steady does win the race. A steady loss of 2-3 lbs a week is a good thing. Some weeks I lose more, some just 2, but the key is this: the numbers keep going down. Keep on Keeping on! You will get where you want to go!
Hope the dress fitting goes well. You will be a beautiful bride!

Steph,

I think many of the maintenance people on the forum will agree that the closer you are to your goal, the slower the weight comes off. That may be why it is going slow for you. I am 20-25 pounds from goal and my weight loss really slowed down last month with only a 4.2 pound loss. I had stopped taking the extra shots and restarted about 2 weeks ago. Then all of a sudden, last week I dropped 3.8 pounds. My eating didn't change at all, I've been pretty strict about following the plan. I don't know if that was from restarting the shots or if it is just how my body responds to the plan. The way I look at it is any loss, puts me that much closer to my goal.

Well, lol... the results are in. I lost 1 lb this week (definitely less than i wanted but it is my TOM) but I lost 3lbs of fat and 2% of my body fat! The dress fitting went wonderfully! I can't believe how I could see the change from the first day I tried it on. Thank you all for the support and encouragement. I am back on the b6 shot and upped my workout routine, so we shall keep our fingers crossed for at least a little pick up in the loss.

weigh in lost weight but gained fat

So not sure what the deal is here. I work out 3X cardio and 3X a week weights. Been doing the weight lifting routine for 3 weeks now consistantly. I went today and lost 3 lbs to bring me to 194 lbs , but my fat % is my goal here and it went up 1.30 lbs. What gives, they told me to stay with my routine and that it could be the meds getting adjusted to my body. I had to go back to 6X appetite suppresants a day. Well I am currently at 25% bf and my goal is now 15% (I think this is a more realistic goal). They will not increase my protein calories yet, but she did mention that if I am doing too much exercise then my body could be holding onto fat. I don't know I am all over the place today hehe,,,any advice is so greatly appreciated.

I feel now getting closer to my goal that I am getting more confused then ever LOL.

Thanks

Sometimes the Scale at my clinic is off or acting wonky. The accuracy of BIA depends alot on your hydration levels as well. Was your water weight up or down? I am assuming and could be wrong that if your weight was down by 3lbs and your fat was showing 1.3 lbs more that the weight loss was showing as a combo of LBM and TBW.

Basically if you are dehydrated the resistance of the electrical current will be greater and result in a higher bodyfat percentage.

This WIKI contains some information about how hydration effects the calculations.

Body fat percentage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have also found alot of information on BIA accuracy being +/- 5% of your real bodyfat percentage.

The gold standard for bodyfat percentage accuracy right now is DXA which is an X-ray technology. I have been thinking about getting this done just to see how close my clinic's scale is to it.

Yeah, it looks like basically all I lost was water weight. It was at 109lbs last week and this week it shows 106lbs. I did get on a different scale then last week so you could be right about the scale being wonky. Well I still feel pretty good, but to lose 10% more body fat seems like a lifetime to me LOL. But I really want it so I am trying to stay focused on that. It is just so many numbers to keep track of it can drive you nutz

I am having a massive stress meltdown. It is funny because food is what comes to mind when I get this way. I am in the middle of finishing an assignment for graduate school along with preparing for a scholarship pageant tomorrow night. One of my boys is sick and I am lossing my mind. I have been good as I have worked today, except that I have not eatten as much as I should have. (Took off today to finish graduate school work). I need some way to get rid of some of this stress so that I don't go into the kitchen tonight and mess what I have been working so hard on. Any suggestions?

I know that going out for a Brisk Walk and listen to some nice tunes will help. Good Luck

Walking always helps me too!

Went for my weigh in today and am down 2.5 to 218.5. BMI is at 31.2 and Fat % at 39.9
and all the other numbers are good I'm told, just confusing. I try to focus on the ones I understand. Picked up some Root Beer float power pops for the "creepy cravings" time of day. And went for a nice walk when I got home.

Just checking in.

I was told the same thing this week. I wondered how my fat might be up a little since i lost 3 pounds, but I was told it only "looked" that way since my water dropped so much it made my fat "appear" higher. I was told look at that part of the slip once a month so as not to panic myself.

Mchestnut,

Let's see what happens next weigh-in; a lot of this could be due to increased weight training. As you get closer to goal your desired percentage of fat may change. Take it one day at a time.

Root Beer power pops. Sounds like a nice treat. The clinic I go to doesn't have them. May be time for on-line shopping.

I need some way to get rid of some of this stress so that I don't go into the kitchen tonight and mess what I have been working so hard on. Any suggestions?
Mathteacher,

Just saw this post; I hope you were able to handle the situation.

Good luck with the challenges you have this weekend.

I hate to ask this question, but does anyone here know of anyone who COULD NOT do this diet because it casued medical issues? I am beginning to wonder if my health issues are diet related. The pain in lungs is gone, but still having a major pain in upper left quad of stomach (online research points to pancreatitis, gallbladder, gall stones, sugar issue). I had to have someone come pick me up from work b/c I got lightheaded today - 2nd day in a row, but then legs also got tingly, jaw locked, and BP dropped (then went up a little too high). I went to an Urgent Care, but they couldn't do any blood work due to my insurance...going to probably go back to ER tomorrow to find out what's going on, but the Dr. at hospital Tuesday mentioned some of his nurses had to quit this diet due to blood sugar issues developed while on it. Any ideas??? Has anyone else heard of this???

teacherdli,

absolutely go to the dr and give them all the information regarding your eating habits, medications and supplements you are taking.

I personally have had no issues with the plan. In fact I was able to discontinue my blood pressure, cholesteral medication and my blood sugar also fell to a normal level.

You should also mention the meds you recently received for this bug that is going around here lately. There may be some interaction.

Hope all turns out well. Please keep us posted.

I absolutely agree with you, McBoo. Danielle, make sure the docs have all the information about all meds, both MWL and those given you recently for your infection, and any other supplements you may take on your own. Drug interaction is so very possible. Also, make sure that the docs know all of your symptoms, when and how often they occur. In other words, tell them everything! The more they know, the better they can help you. I do apologize for going on so, I am a doctor's daughter..I guess I just want to be sure you get the help you need.

Take care.

Jo

My doctor directed me to the program. My blood pressure has stabilized at 120/70, my varicose vein issues have lessened appreciably, my poor old knee is barely even bothering me anymore. And my back bothers me not at all. So, all in all, for me, the plan is a total win/win.
