Thanks for the welcome! I already felt I belonged here after reading all the encouraging replies to those who have slipped off the program
This forum shows how people from many different places can develop a friendship through 1 common thread!
I felt like I didn't need to post anything until I knew I could stick with this program. After a couple of days on MWL, I feel I CAN do this!!
I'm SO thankful for the appetite suppressant, without it I would be in the kitchen pigging out
Another bonus...my husband is now eating a little better too, he's type 2 diabetic. I've lowered his carb level too but not too much because he needs to have them.

Hello I am New to the Medi program

Hi All,
I joined the Medi Clinic near Boston on Feb. 14th. To date I have lost 8 pounds of fat and 2 pounds of water. I don't take the appetite suppressant and have found that the Fat Burners really help me with hunger! I am eating 700 cals of protein a day plus 2 cups of veggies. I did over do it Friday night- 1300 calories, YIKES and 4 vodka and soda drinks- I gained 2.5 pounds over the weekend, but since I got up Saturday morning I have been drinking water like crazy and eating mostly protein I am now back to 200 pounds. I am hoping to lose 3 pounds by Friday!! so I am going to do cardio and focus on protein. Thanks for having this support group!

JROOTA,

Water, Water, Water it will get you back on track for your weigh in. The vodka will dehydrate you and force your body to hold on to the water. You can definatly correct this. Please keep us updated on your weigh in and progress.

Way to go! 18 total pounds is amazing! Please give us an example of a daily menu you like to eat. I was hoping to lose more than I have in 3 weeks so I want to make sure I'm doing the right things.

Thanks Mcboo, I do feel much better and my blood sugar levels are very good! Before I started Medi I was hot all the time! Now I am cold!! I love it!

Breakfast: Egg beater (depending on my morning mood, I add ham, onions, mushrooms, cheese) I try to change it up from day to day. (Occasionally I will do a medi shake if I wake up late and have to run out the door with the kids.)
I also have canadian bacon or turkey sausage.

Lunch: Turkey patty for lunch (I try to mix up what I take for lunch. I usually cook on Sunday for the week. I have been changing up what I cook. Turkey breast, turkey patties, chicken, )
Today I had okra for lunch. I usually take a fruit or a vegetable.

Dinner: Chicken tenders with some low cal, low carb, and fat free sauce. I have some form of meat and I have a veggie at night.

I am not eatting a whole lot of fruit. I enjoy it, but I am trying to explore different vegetables.

I usually have a SF jello or some other snack. I make sure I get in between 500-650 calories daily. I have to drink over 128 ozs of water. I have not gone off of the plan since I started. I exercise. Water, following the plan and exercise are big things. I have made a number of the recipes to try on the recipe board.

Please don't consider yourself as being bad. It's okay. Friday is over with, and today's a new day.

I wouldn't change your appointment if I were you. You're back on track now, so don't worry. Plus, no one's judging you! We're all human.

Are you eating enough calories before dinner? You might need to change your eating habits so you're not that hungry at night. Try to make breakfast or lunch your largest meal. And save a little bit of calories for a light nighttime snack, such as a piece of lowfat string cheese.

Well Saturday came and cleaned the house and was on plan only protein and then came the night it's like a demon that comes over me and tells me to eat everything. Saturday done. Sunday didn't go out stayed home preparing for the blizzard, ate my eggbeaters in the morning and had 3 oz hamburger and again then came the evening and again I went off my rocker. I am embarrassed but know that if I write this on the thread maybe someone can knock some sanity in into me.
Today I had a EAS shake for breakfast and I am going to drink water like crazy I weighed in Wednesday at 183.2 and now my scale is telling me at home I am 188.0  what am I to do? weigh in is Wednesday and I don't think I can lose 5 lbs plus in 2 days. Or should I change my appointment I really can't stand when I do this. HELP!!!!

Congratulations to all of the "Loose"ers! My 3rd week weigh-in is tomorrow, and I am hoping to have lost 4lbs this week, but not so sure thanks to the many glasses of shiraz last weekend. I didn't cheat on food and I did exercise, but couldn't resist the wine.

I was so happy though, when I went through my closet & my old pants are starting to fit again! Hopefully, they will be old again soon because they'll be too big. Whoo hoo!

Okay. Gotta tell ya, it's been a rough day. I had to have a facet block in my back. I have been having low back pain and an MRI showed disc compression and narrowing (degenerative disc disease) and arthritis. The block today put steroids and numbing meds in some of the joints in my back. I'd been told it was no big deal...liars. I hurt then and now. I had an ounce of almonds for breakfast because I had been told not to have much. Then half a burger at OCharleys for lunch. Took pain pills and muscle relaxer and layed down. Got up hungry....at 14 mini chips ahoy cookies--20 carbs and a small reeses cup--8 carbs. I'm craving chocolate!! Is it the meds? Will I retain water with the steroids being in a joint?
AND so terribly constipated!!! Thinking the muscle relaxers, narcotics, and food have me messed up. Feeling bummed...and hurting. Just needed to fess up!

ROEV210 Have you tried adding a B6 B1 injection weekly or biweekly to help balance the hormones, water and food cravings?? It works for alot of people including myself. Most importantly don't stress out or beat yourself up for being human. Increasing your stress increases your stress hormones and that alone will create weight gain. And stop weighing yourself at home....never a good idea.

follow up on my hunger issues over the weekend

I went by the clinic today and got my free injection and told them what happen. They went ahead and increased my dosage from 3 a day to 6. They also told me to increase my cals to around 600 per day on the days I work out.

Hi All-
I'm wondering if anyone else taking the app suppressants sometimes is fine with them and then at other times feels quite jittery, etc.? I think they work great, but its weird how they effect me differently on different days.

I had a bad few days...totally off track. Today I am back to where I want to be, eating right. Amazing how I feel so much better mentally and physically when I follow the plan. I am trying to figure out how to keep myself from wanting to eat late at night. That is my biggest obstacle. Any suggestions?

Thanks for all your great posts. They really help.
Regards-
Robyn

PS-Rhonda, keep at it! I think that its human to veer off track at times. Maybe it gives us opportunity to recall how much better we felt when on track? This way we want to keep plugging along towards our goal.

Weigh in update: I only lost 1.5lbs this week, but all fat (Yea!). My water stayed the same. I was hoping for 4lbs, hopefully next week will be better. So I am down 11lbs in 3 weeks... not too shabby. The most I ever lost on Atkins/South Beach/WeightWatchers/SlimFast/etc. was 8lbs.

I was going yesterday but the snow storm stopped that. I go on Wednesday and Friday thru Sunday they are closed so Monday would be the only day that I could go for an additional shot. Well tomorrow is d-day. I will let all know when I get home. I have been strictly on program all day yesterday and today and all protein. Thanks for all the encouragement and you guys do make it easier to get right back on track.
Thanks again, Rhonda

Rhonda,
Good luck tomorrow. I think you will be fine and it won't be as bad as you originally thought it would be. If there is a gain you know exactly why it happened. However you might be surprised and actually have a loss since you have been back in plan and have been drinking all your water. We will be here for you no matter what the results are but I am thinking positively.

Let us know how it goes.

Fuelin'MyDreams, MathTeacher, and Sherrie,

Congrats on the great losses this week! You got me doing the happy dance. Keep up the good work.

Rhonda, I'm glad you've decided to keep your appointment. It's funny how we all have the mentality that if we think we've gained we don't want to go to our appointment and weigh-in. Well that's what got us here in the first place (myself included). I used to play that game with Weight Watchers all the time and that is why I was never successful. I only wanted to go when I was successful so guess what, I stopped being successful and stopped going altogether. The whole reason we are going to Medi is because we need the help and we are paying for it! Good luck tomorrow, I will keep my fingers crossed and think positively for you. We are here for you no matter what.

Susie
