Hi Ashley, I have been off & on MWL my self, presently back on. I have been successful despite a few minor setbacks don't beat yourself up! Just get back on the saddle. I am back on MWL, as of last week, my week one weigh in wasnt as big as I expected, but I was still down 4. The plan does work, take one day at a time.

Susie~

I made the turnip fries and dipped them in dijion mustard. They were great.

I am going on a cruise in three weeks and going to try to stick to the plan the best I can. I know I will splurg some. I am hoping to have another 10 pounds off by then.

I am cooking some of the turnip fries right now. I found that dipping them in egg and cooking them on a broiler sheet makes them crispier. I've also been experimenting with different seasonings.

I weighed in today and lost 1 more pound for a total of 48. I was hoping for 3pounds for an even 50 and to get into the 160's, but that will happen soon enough.

I'm not sure about the grams I'm just sure about staying under x amount of calories per day. My body just needs the high end of protein for the largest amount of weight loss. I'm sure others differ.

Newbie here

Hello! I have been lurking for a while but officially started the MWL program on Sunday morning. My husband and I are both doing it together. I have about 100lbs to lose and he has about 50lbs.

A day and a half in and so far so good. Just a little bit of the headachy feeling and just a little shaky. I am trying to eat the highest protein foods and I think that helps when I start to feel a little shaky. Also picked up the EAS Advantage shakes and the chicken broth! I am only doing two doses of the appetite suppresants because I saw that some folks had problems with the full dosage in the beginning. We have two little children and I need to still be able to function!

Well, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. This board is so supportive and I am really glad that I stumbled upon it. I am soooo ready to make the changes that I need in order to be healthy and set good examples for my kids.

Have a great day, everyone!

You are not wierd!
I did have some crazy headaches... so be greatful that you don't have those
In my first week I did not get into ketosis untill day 6 or 7. I am on week 4 and still have only been in ketosis 3-4 days total. Just keep sticking to the diet and the scale will surprise you!

A hearty welcome to our newbies!

Hurray for Susie and Sherrie on the weight loss!

Slow and steady wins the race! You are both doing great!!!!
I am right there with you Susie... only I need to lose 3 more to get to 50. We will both get there for certain!

About actual grams of protein - not sure - calorie count definitely certain that for week one it is 500. At the moment, I am allowed 500-650. Your clinic can best advise you on both.

Happy Birthday to Jerry

Question for those who have lost significant weight on medi

Hi All- I'm new to the program (day 3!) and hoping that this will work for me. I was wondering if those of you who have had success with the program could chime in on a question I have. I have been reading alot about how rapid weight loss increases the chance for an individual to retain excess/loose skin. Anybody have any info/experience to share about this? Any tricks to counteract this? Thanks in advance...all of the success stories on here are VERY encouraging.

Congrats Susie. Keep it up!

Congrats to the rest of you on your weight loss.

I weighed in today too. I lost 2.9 pounds making my total 27 pounds in 7 weeks. I am hoping for the 3 pounds next week to make 30 and then two good weeks before we head to go on our cruise. I also had another exciting point. Had to pull all of my 16 and 14s out of storage. All of my 16s are loss and I am able to wear a few of the 14s comfortable. I have dieted before, but I have never had as much energy as I have now. I wanted to be able to keep up with my boys and I am definately doing that now.

Great job Mathteacher

Isn't it great getting into those smaller sizes?

Enjoy your cruise. I don't know if you have cruised in the past but what I would do is speak to the Maitre'd in the dining room as soon as I arrived on board the ship and tell him/her that you are doing low carb low fat. They will absolutely accommodate your special request and you wont feel deprived because it will be wonderful. Special orders are the very common on cruises and the more notice you give them the better it is received.

Have fun.

McBoo

Welcome CurlyQ and congrats to everyone else, it feels great to lose this weight!

I had my second weigh in and lost 4.8 pounds and 4.2 was Fat! So my total is now 17.4. I am feeling great, the walking is getting easier and more of a habit. And again thanks to this board, it is nice to share with friends who know!

Robyn,

Great job

You are doing so well. As the weight comes off it is amazing how much easier the exercise becomes.

If any of you had known me a year ago you and I would have never beleived this was possible.

It truly is life changing.

I am a newbie. I started on Friday. I feel like I was hit by a truck. I am a little better today. Did anyone work out on week one? I normally bike, play volleyball, do yoga, and hit the treadmill. This week....I have been laying on the couch with a headache. I am so flippin hungry. I am doing everything to a T. My water intake is great. I am getting ready to start licking envelopes...do they have calories???? I am not usually this crabby!

CurleyQ and MrsP,

MrsP... my advise is to do toning exercises while you are losing weight. I haven't had any trouble with excess skin, but I have been toning all along. I lift weights, and do sit ups, push ups and squats on a regular basis. I also take a studio cycling class 3-4 days per week. Good luck to both of you.

Congratulations to Sherrie, Shas and Robyn on your losses this week. You are doing amazing!

Thanks to all of you for your kind words. This site is so encouraging and uplifting. Thank you all.

I have been doing toning excerises too. I have not gotten a routinue down yet, but am not having any issues with extra skin. As my 5 year old continues to tell me and it makes me feel great, "mommy is getting flat."

Hello All

Hi! I'm Beth and just started Medi-Weight Loss last week. I had my first weigh-in today and was down 9 pounds! This looks like such a great group and I have been reading the posts over the last week and been so inspired by all of your stories! I'm so excited about this WOE!
