It is good to hear you are doing better, Danielle. Take care and I love that you are staying in touch!

Thanks for the advice, McBoo. I am going shopping for those shakes tomorrow! The caramel one appears to be calling my name! And I have written down the correct one
to purchase.

So the low carb/no sugar New York Style Cheese cake arrived yesterday. I had a slice and it was SO good- OK I admit I had 2 slices but now I put the rest in the freezer! For me it's dangerously good. I would ONLY recommend this to someone who wanted to have a treat or bring a good cheesecake to a party etc. the fat content is high: (160 cals, 12 carbs, & 13 grams of fat)
Product Information – Low-Carb No-sugar-added New York Style Cheesecake

I think I read in a thread on here that someone has a cheesecake recipe (but could not find in the recipe section). If you could post it in the recipe section that would be wonderful. I would like to try and make one this weekend.

Also- Since the scale did not move last week I have made a BIG effort to focus on WATER, WATER, And MORE WATER- amazing the scale is now at 197.5!

Hi, I joined Medi Weightloss last Thursday with my husband. I am going for my first weigh in today. I think I did well.
I have developed so many problems at my weight. I have type 2 diabeties and have been unable to lose weight for awhile. I have been successful in many other diets before, but have always gained back all if not more.
Well i am so excited to have found this thread. Thanks to all of you who are here for support.

need some advice

The MWL shake is as follows:
Whey prtotein shake power
$25.00 for 1lb

calories 114.5
calories from fat 22.5
total fat 2.5g
polyunsturated fat 0.75g
monounsturated fat 1.25g
trans fat 0g
cholesterol 37.5mg
sodium 45mg
total carbs 3g
dietary fiber 2g
sugar 1g
protein 20g
I went to The Vitamin Shoppe and match up a new product and its close to MWL shake, tell me what you guys think and yes I buy the EAS advantage also but I figure maybe this will add to our search for new products for the plan.
Its called Elite whey protein isolate I bought the rich chocolate
$19.99 for 2.07lbs
calories 117
calories from fat 14
total fat 2g
saturated fat <1g
trans fat 0g
cholesterol 15mg
sodium 75mg
total carbs 2g
dietary fiber 0g
sugar 0g
protein 24g

Ok the only difference that I see is the sodium but everything else looks pretty good let me know what you think

Thanks,
Rhonda

Rhonda,
Another difference is the fiber. What is the serving size on each of these as compared with the EAS 11 oz serving?

Thank You.
It went well. I lost 8.8 lbs, and my husband lost 11.2.
Now I am really excited. Can't wait to see how week 2 goes with adding vegetables and/or fruit.

If you can be satisfied with that size portion it is a good alternative but if you want the same size serving as the EAS shakes it seems that the cost would be a lot more.

Hi All

to all the new people!
I don't post much but I do check in a lot. You will find that the people in here are a great source of information and support.
Just got through my week 2 weigh-in and was almost disappointed until I found out something.... I only lost 3 lbs BUT lost 6.5 more pounds of fat!!!
I know this weight didn't go on slowly but I wish it would come off a bit faster

McBoo:
I did go the gym and found out that stamina isn't what it used to be
I used to be able to do an hour of cardio...after 30 mins, I was tired
The exercise guru at my center said to increase slowly..10 mins per week.
So I shall take my time getting back on my previous level!
I guess without the all those carbs I was inhaling, I actually have to use my fat stores in order to work out. I should have enough for several hours of cardio

Thanks for the advice!

Cindy

Back for good

As I said in previous posts I was going to try doing on my won without weighing in. But I made the leap today and back to the clinic I went. I know the goal can be reached. Better sooner rather than later and done right!

Will post next week on how I did

Update from Tampa: I am down another 2.8 lbs, now at 141.8. BF% is now at 31.9%.
I am about 7 lbs away from goal BF%!!!!!!!
3 or 4 more weeks should do it.

I finally got the crud that was going around...... still hanging in there 7 days later.

Great Job to everyone else and Welcome to all the newbies!

Congrats to all the weight losses this week....and a warm welcome to all of our newbies!

Rhonda....if that is the nutrition amount for the 6oz serving then it would
almost double for the 11 oz of the EAS shake. For me, I have a huge problem with powders...they never get all dissolved for me...even with my blender..so I prefer the "already liquid" ones. It is a good find nonetheless.
I tried to send you a message on the power pops, but it would not go anywhere....send me one and I will reply to you!

I went to costco today to buy the EAS advantage pre made shakes, they just have the bag that then you have to mix and make your own shakes. I was trying to find something more convenient.

Instead, I found the premier nutrition pre-made shake, with 2 grams of net carbs, 3 grams of fat, 30 grams of protein (which is great!) and 160 calories. I do not mind the 50extra calories thsan the EAS advantage, but I like the 13 extra grams of protein.

Have someone tried these shakes???

I strated yesterday and so far, so good ... I do not have any headache and I feel great!

Tomorrow I am going to the center to get my shot, but my weigh-ins are on Tuesday.

I have just started my 3rd week and I have lost 15 pounds. I'm a carb-a-holic and miss bread terribly!!!! I do like how my clothes are starting to fit though... That probably keeps me from cheating.

You seem like a fantastic group and I'm sure I will have lots of questions later!

I weighed in yesterday and lost 3 lbs. (McBoo, missed my prediction by .5!) I lost 3.2 lbs. of fat this week. I have been making sure to drink my water, that seems to help.I feel so much better eating like this, it is amazing! I even try new veggies every week which is big for me because I usually do not like many of them. I love asparagus now, and it helps with the water retention!Congratulations to all the losers this week and welcome to all the newbies!

Week #8 weigh-in....drum roll please....4.5 pounds lost!

Official Medi loss = 32.5 pounds
Since 1/9/2009 = 59 pounds
Since high weight 12/15/209 = 74 pounds

I started doing cardio 6 days a week (30 minutes on bike) and weights 3 days a week (30 minutes circuit training) on March 3rd. This is working out well so far! I was a little worried about over-training but my doctor said she doesn't have any problem with the cardio. Her focus was not to do more that 3X per week on the weight training.

Hi everyone.....had wanted to jump on here and post my results from Mon. but my Dad in NC had a MI (heart attack) and I have been on the ph w/my Mom and Dr.s plus conferring w/Dr's at the school. May be flying up there.

Wanted to post that I did make it to Skinny Pantry...truly a nice woman and although out of the angel hair and orzo I did purchase a few things to make McBoo's chicken and did get the lasagne noodles.

I am down 6lbs the first week, so not to bad. I am thrilled with my results.

Congratulations to all the losers.
