Water Consumption-??

So I am on day 2 and trying really hard to drink my water.. I have never really liked water (actually I hate it) so I have been doing the crystal light in the water.. I just had to stop by my center and pick something up and I mentioned the crystal light to them. They advised NOT to drink all your water with crystal light as it can stall you..... I can't drink just plain water.. I am already giving up my 40 ounces of diet coke a day ... Does anyone have any info on this.?

PS.. I don't like the seltzer water either..

I drank some diet caffeine free coke which is ok. Just make sure you are getting more water than soda. Also, try the flavored sparkling waters like from wal-mart. They are calorie free.

I've been using Crystal Light lemonade as my drink of choice since starting and I haven't had any issues with it slowing me down that I can tell.

My counselor told me to drink up to 4 waters a day with the hydration crystal light in it. Today I asked about it b/c my weight loss was less, but a different counselor said that wasn't the problem. You need the electrolytes & potassium. In the beginning I only drank one a day, but I was told to get more in.

No. There's no reason why crystal light would slow down your metabolism. Enjoy it! But do try to make sure at least 3 of your 5 medi water bottles are water, and at least 16 oz a day comes from an electrolyte drink such as Powerade Zero.

I never go anywhere without my water bottle!

Sorry, gotta jump in here! There is a very STRONG possibilty that Crystal Light will stall you as it has AS in it. Plus your body will not absorb the Crystal Light the same way that it does just straight water.

I have always hated water as well, but i find if i buy the cases of 16oz bottles and put them in the fridge to get them really cold, that I really enjoy them. Plus you can make a game of it and see how many bottles you can drink a day!

Hope this helps!

With all do respect, this is heresay. There is no scientific proof that artificial sugar can stall your metabolism.

Another option with regards to flavoring water without using Crystal Lite are the LemonTime, LimeTime products which contain Vitamin C and basically lightly flavor even plain old water to make it more attractive and tasty. This is also a good alternative to a fresh lemon when wanting to prevent fruits and veggies from browning.... Try the Smart Water with added electrolytes, tastes good and only $1 bottle at Shaw's Market!!

Just remember that the water you are drinking is making your fat cells more buoyant and less likely to stick together so that you can burn them!!! Additionally keeping your TBW (total body water) consistent from week to week helps you and your clinic provider interpret the scale results much better. Keep in mind that caffenine is a diuretic which will undue all of your hard work....besides those prescription appetite supressants should be making you thirsty!!
