Chicken breasts are always good if you can find some type of seasoning to sprinkle on them. If it's warm enough, fire up a grill and get after it. If not, fry them slowly as not to dry them out...and sprinkle with desired seasonings.

I use the McCormick marinades quite often. That way my husband and I can share a meal together, but I just don't have any of the carbs. Mojito Lime is one of my favorites for chicken, Garlic and Peppercorn is great on beef, Mixed herb is awesome on Pork. Hope this helps.

The list posted at the beginning of the thread is for after week 1. Only lean proteins, low fat cheese, low fat cottage cheese, low carb yogurt like Kroger's carbmaster, eggs, low sodium low-fat broth and pickles(only 1-2/day) are allowed. I recommed getting the powerade zero for your daily electrolytes.

I guess my clinic is more strict because we cant have cheese or yogurt until week 2, only low-fat cottage cheese.

Thanks for clearing up the pickle thing for me though!

Hi grfxgrl, how is it going today? I had a tough 3rd day at the beginning, feeling kind of quesy from drinking all the water. I was also very tired. I stopped taking the AS as I was not able to sleep very well the last two nites. but I made it thru another day. oh, get this, my nephew fixed brownies today for the family, the house smelled so good! Imagine walking into the house to the smell of brownies.... I was so mad... but I survived

Hey! Im doing ok... having issues with my stomach and some serious fatigue. Im getting really tired of just meat all of the time. Im going to make an omelet for dinner with turkey sausage (but no cheese... boo ). So glad I only have 3 more days of this. I am sick of meat! Good thing I did reach ketosis today because I am not sure i could do this for another week... whew!

How are you doing with this protein only thing?

I'd kill for a salad or something... and i never ever EVER say that.

I'm sure I can find it in Birmingham.
I go to Whole Foods all the time. However, since they don't carry a lot of mainstream products (College Inn being one of them), I rely on Shaws or Stop & Shop for College Inn here. We also have Dave's Marketplace here in RI that is awesome but, I still love the selection of veggies at Whole Foods.

Hi VElite, How are you doing?? I have used the protein shake and like it a lot. I was told also to try Muscle Milk Lite...well, I did, but it is not as thick as the MWL brand and more expensive. So, when I go to weigh in tomorrow, I am picking up some Vanilla.

I need to find out if it is ok to have a shake for breakfast instead of eggs and turkey bacon or turkey sausage. I have a hard time eating solids like that even an hour after I get up.

Hi Baysidegal and grfxlgrl! Today was interesting, I was not in ketosis, but still dehyraded. So I called the clinic to ask what I needed to do. They just told me to stop drinking bottled water and to drink crystal light hydration, smart water, propel 0 or some broth.. So I tried that. I tested again late in the day, and still no change. I have drank 112oz of all those drinks so far... i dont know what else to do. All the protein is not bothering me, YET, but I have to find some quick new receipes fast, or it will.
I am proud of myself this week in the fact that my family has not been as supportive by making brownies for their dessert (hubby and nephew) twice this week. the house smelled so good. But I didnt go for it.!! He did apologize..

My first week, I drank 1 20oz Smart water a day. I had too, I was so thirsty. As you go on, you will find its a lot different. I have to work to drink the water, but If I feel shaky or feel faint, I know I need the electolytes. It gets better, I promise.

You think that you did everything by the book but sometimes even more exercise or a little "over" of allowed carbs, could throw you out. Make sure your ketosix strips are good (sometimes they go bad if they are kept in the humid area). To get back to ketosis: 3-4 days of exact week 1 will help.
