I stopped taking all of the supplements/fat burner after the first batch of bottles ran out...I just take a good multivitamin and never took any of the extra injections, just the one that is included with the weekly visit. Had great results without all of those extras; I think Medi is an awesome program and it was worth every penny, but as with any business; it exists to make money and I'm convinced that is the only thing all the extras do.

I had stopped the MWL fat burners as I ran out close to transition, BUT I bought more recently (from MWL) and I feel and see a difference in my legs, buttocks, and back. I'm not as bloated or lumpy, or "full" and I'm still about the same weight. I may be building some muscle in my thighs from the bike riding. I just wanted to let you know I take OTC Omegas, multivits, and Vit B 12 sublingual tabs; but MWL fatburners are still helping me and so I'm going to stick with them.

Thanks for all the info! Tomorrow is my first weigh in, and I've been really careful all week, so I'm hoping it's good one. So happy to be getting veggies back in time for Thanksgiving!

Just started

Hi everyone I have been reading some of your posts and it gives me a lot of motivation to keep this up. Thx.

I just started last week and I lost 7.4 lbs my first week. My next weigh in will be on Monday November 29. I was wondering when you started exercising more? My doctor said he does not want me really exercising much the first month. What did you start out doing for workouts?

Makin it happen- I had a routine going to the gym about twice/week pre-medi and I kept doing it even during week 1. I always get 2-3 days of exercise/week. I don't do real heavy weight lifting and try to mix it up and get some cardio too. I didn't want to do less exercise than pre-medi. Just didn't make sense to me. I don't want to lose all of this flab and have no muscle tone underneith.

ALSO, not telling hubby what I'm doing.. I told him I'm going on a diet for me, no questions and he said as long as I don't have more useless diet pills hidden in my drawer he's good!! Haha, didn't know he knew about those..advise on the MEDI?

Hi All, I will be starting the Medi plan in January. My first appointment is 12/30/2010. I am nervous and excited. Like so many others I have also tried just about every diet. They all start out working to some extent but I not reached my goal weight since 1988. This is the heavies that I've been and I can not wait to finally get to a weight where I'm not ashamed of how I look and most importantly, how I feel.

I am so worried that I'm not going to be successful. I have high blood pressure so I don't think that I can take the AS. I'm worried if I don't take them that the hunger will be too much for me to bare. I know it can be done because I have read so many of the posts on the thread but I can't help but thinking that I'll be the one that fail.

Hi Betty, your clinic will let you know what you'll be able to take. They also have a product called Stay Slim that many people that can't or don't want to take the Appetite Suppressant use. Congratulations on your decision to join Medi. It's one of the best decisions that I've ever made!

Hi Betty I second what Kelly said. Don't stress about the blood pressure thing ~ I've had hypertension for years, but I'm now off my medication (and I took a lot!) due to Medi and my weight loss! Be sure to talk with your doctor about the program if you haven't already. The AS did cause my b/p to go up, so I switched to the Stay Slim. You may be surprised once you get started that you won't be as hungry as you think you will be. Of course, we're all different & I still have days that I just WANT something to eat, realizing now that it's not real hunger. That said, I quit taking the Stay Slim quite some time ago since it didn't really make a difference to me. Everyone will tell you to drink tons of water ~ I got sick of hearing it, but it's necessary for so many reasons.
You really can succeed with this plan... I was a big doubter too, but it somehow magically works for me and jillions of others. It can help you be a healthier & happier person. And come here often ~ there's lots of support for the good days, and especially the bad ones!

I am feeling really disappointed in this program. The site read 5-10 pounds your 1st week and 20 the 1st month. then at the bottom on the site it says average 7 pounds the 1st week and 2-3 pounds each week after. Anyway i had my 3rd way in today and i have only lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks. So it has cost me about 485.00 to get 9 pounds off!!! Im not even falling into the average:/ I don't get it...i have followed everything perfect cause i am paying to get the weight off!

Are you making sure to drink all the recommended water? That has been an issue with me in the past. Stay with it and be optimistic. I don't have an article at my fingertips to refer you to, but if you are carrying a lot of stress in your life you are making a lot of cortisol, which helps to prepare you for fight or flight stress, and your body won't want to release weight. Google cortisol. Talk with your Medi doc. This program is not a fluff commitment or spoof. It really works and there is a lot of science behind the recommendations. Good luck, you CAN do this!

I definitely agree with Deb, make sure that you're getting enough water. Also, make sure that you're eating enough protein calories. I fell into the trap of eating 500 total calories, rather than 500 protein calories + fruit, veggies and healthy fat. My body fought that plan tooth and nail. My particular range was 500-650 protein calories and I seemed to do better when I was closer to 600 calories in protein.

Also, do you know how much you lost in water and how much in fat? My body has a definite pattern of holding water for weeks and then whoosh - I'll suddenly drop 5 pounds of water in one week because it's "ready" to let it go. Give it time. Are you in Ketosis when you check?

FYI, we likely go to the same clinic. I know several others who have been there and all have lost at least 30 lbs within 3 months. The one right at 30 cheats all the darn time.

I offically started the diet today, 12/29/2010. I'm feeling good and I pray I continue to feel this way. I weighed alittle more than I thought but that's ok. The most important thing is where I end up.

Thanks Barb. I'm very excited about going for my weigh in tomorrow. I'm hoping for a good number. How did you do your first week? Did you have a problem getting into Ketosis? My stick color is hard to tell rather it's moderate or the level right before it.

Betty, I lost 7.6 the first week and then lost almost the same amount the second week. The results have made it easier for me to stick with it. I was confused about the stick colors the first week, too. I think it was on the fourth day that I was in ketosis. They'll test you at your center so you'll know for sure. Good luck!

Thanks Barb, I'm hoping for a good second week number. Not expecting it to be nearly as much but 1/2 would be nice. This is the easiest diet to follow because of the quick results it really makes you want to stick with it. I know that some variation of this will be my way of life but I don't think it would be a problem for me.

How are you doing so far?

Week 1

Just finished week 1 with a 10.3 pound weight loss. Wish I had known about you guys last week. I thought that it would be a good idea for week one to buy deli meat and put it into 100 calorie packages. I may never eat deli turkey again. Today has been glorious, yogurt, an apple, cheese WOOHOO!

Cafrene, that is awesome and too funny about the deli meat! I was so happy to eat lettuce again. I never thought I'd say that!

Betty, I'm bouncing back from the stomach bug, yuck! Totally wiped me out for a few days but I'm back to exercising and I'm hoping for another good week.

Here's a question.

A lot have suggsted to drink chicken brooth. Does this chicken brooth include home made brooth? Chicken, some ginger, and salt.

I am on my first week.

I am new!! Hi everyone!

ALSO - I am a diabetic, what should I watch out for? I just read that I need to monitor my blood sugar real closesly. This makes me a little uneasy.
