Congrats - that's awesome! They have a "model" of one pound of fat on the counter where we check in at Medi and my son always wants to play with the darn thing. I hate to think about how many of them I've been carrying around for too long!

YAY, Honeybee!!! 8.3 lbs is a great loss. Keep up the terrific work & you'll get to your goal in no time.
Kelly ~ you made me laugh about the "carrying around" all those pounds of fat for years ~ I think about that a lot when my knees DON'T hurt going up the stairs & when I can work out harder at Curves. We have the model of a pound of fat at our clinic, too... it looks pretty darn big for just one pound!

How soon after I eat should I take the fat burner?

I just started back today (well, had my appt yesterday morning and followed plan after that though had a tortila before) after a few false starts. Unfortunately though, I woke up sick with a nasty cold! Any suggestions for sticking to plan while sick? I'm trying very hard to stay faithful, and put several chicken breasts in a crockpot with broth and an onion and jalapenos (which I can removed when done) in hopes that my pseudo chicken soup would make me feel better and keep me on plan. Would love any suggestions. I'm going to try hard to stick with this site this time as well. I think one of the reasons for my unsuccessful attempts in the past has been the lack of support. I think this site will really help if I just use it!

I take mine WITH my last bite of food, otherwise I get so incredibly nauseous that I am out for the day. Also, if I have other pills to take it with, I always take that one last to make sure there is plenty already in my stomach to prevent getting sick.

This is the pill I end up skipping the most, if I don't take it just right I always get so sick!

Hi! My clinic gave me a schedule for each pill. I'm supposed to take the fat burner at 11 am, 3 pm & 7pm. BUT, somedays I just take one around 11, somedays a second one around 3 pm. Somedays I take NONE. They tend to make it hard for me to sleep if I take one after 3. Talk with your clinic staff ~ sometimes you have to experiment to see what works for you!

Welcome Honeybee737

Welcome Honeybee! I am from Pensacola, too! I plan on returning to the clinic AND the plan this week!! It's that TOM and although it will easier to wait, I don't want another week to go by. I have taken a few months off for personal reasons but after returning to these boards I am SOOO ready to get the remaining weight off. I haven't met anyone here that goes to the same clinic I do so this will be a good thing! Would love to exchange ideas....could always use a good support system!

first wanted to thank everyone for the posts on this board, it really helped me get through week one. Going to get weighed today at 130!!! so excited.

I just have a question for anyone that works Night shifts? anyone out there? I work Nights as an RN 7p to 7a and My only issue was switching myself back with the meds. Meaning when I worked I took Meds at say 4p, 11p and 2a then the next day tried to switch myself and wound up missing some meds. Just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem. i usually try to work 3 in a row on and 3-4 off. thanks

Hey guys...

I am in week 8 and feel that I have hit the wall with the weight loss. Not too sure why. I was thinking about getting on the appetite supressant. Currently, I am using the Stay Slim and Fat Burner. My clinic keeps telling me that maybe I should try the appetite supressant. Anyone out there that has switched over?

Thanks!!!

Hi Susan!

Bravo to you for resuming the program! I noticed how similar our stats are, too funny. I absolutely agree on the need of a support system, count me in!

I'm New!

Hi All. I just found this site and I am so excited to read about everyone's success! I just started the program last week and on my first weigh in I lost 10 lbs!!!!! I was so excited and so motivated to stick to to this!

I had 3 friends have great success on the plan, but I was still skeptical... not anymore! Glad to have found a community of people that I can lean on going through the same things

Hello All,

So I just started the plan 4 days ago (today is my 4th) and I've already lost about 8 pounds (on my home scale). I'm a scale junkie and I know I need to break the habbit. Does Medi have a pill for that? Oh I crack myself up!

Anyway, I am surprised at how easy the first week is going. I'm on the stay slim pills and they are amazing. Between the water and the pills I'm never hungery or have cravings. Yesterday I went to lunch with a coworker and just drank my water while they had a fantastic fatty lunch... and... it didn't bother me.

I'm glad to be here and am thankful for all the tips and advice.

I wanted to welcome all the newbies to this community. You will find lots of valuable advice and great support. I started about a year ago and have been on maintenance since March of this year. I have gone from 249 lbs to my current weight of 175lbs. This has been an amazing journey for me and not without its mishaps and missteps.

So to all, do not hesitate to contact me if you ever need support, advice or whatever.

You are all amazing!

Welcome newbies! Geesh ~ it seems like yesterday that I was being welcomed. Now, after 3 months, I've met my weight goal (plus a pound), have gone down 3 clothing sizes, -5 hip inches (YAY), -5 waist inches (YAY), -4 bust inches ( ~ oh well)... and I feel great. This program does take determination, but if you just throw yourself into it the best you can, you will feel SO good about your successes. Unlike a lot of my more worthy cohorts here, I don't run marathons or even work out all that hard. I DO exercise everyday, either circuit training (Curves), treadmill, or fast walking. SO, even if you just do the minimal to follow the program, it works. Just think how great your results will be if you really work hard at it!! My best thoughts go out to you newbies, and look forward to hearing about your journey here!

I've been looking through everything on here since I began my program last week and it is so helpful. It is really great to see all the long-term people who post every day to help out the new people. SO ENCOURAGING!!! I had a bad craving day yesterday (but I didn't cheat) and today is another challenging day so I figured it would be best to start participating in the postings. It is so hard at the office when people want to go out for lunch, and I have to refuse. And I have had more than one thought about shoving the cookies in unpleasant places of the person who brought that supersized tin in to the office. So far I have maintained my strength!!

I'm on a similar program to medi (500 non-carb, low fat, calories per day) and I get the B12 Lipo shot weekly and Adipex 2x/day and Topamax at night if needed (helps with headaches, sleep and suposedly cravings).

I wanted to do Medi so bad, but the clinic is just too far from my office and the clinic hours did not sync with my work schedule. So many people tell me I'm crazy for being on such a drastic plan, but I need something that works and I'm such an impatient person that regular diets just don't work for me. 1 Pound a week just does not give me the motivation to say no to chocolate, Japanese food and my horrible eating habits.

The first week was actually easier than week two. The really bad part of my plan is that I get only meat/cheese/eggs until week 4!!!! UGH.

Thank you to everyone who maintains this page, I have found a lot of great advice and encouragement and it has really helped me! I look forward to mingling with you all!!

Welcome, Jeni! It will get much easier once you get past week 4 of your plan. Eating out becomes much easier when you can get a big salad topped with protein (tuna, shrimp, chicken and steak are all great). I just order a dressing on the side and dip my fork in it if I want a big on every bite. Congrats for making this work for you without a clinic close by!

Hey Kelly...

Good to see you on here. Looks like you are doing better than me...you are more than 10 pounds ahead of me. But...it's working and feels great.

How has the past couple weeks been for you?

Hey Stephanie!

Good to "see" you, too! I'm pretty sure that the fact that I was put on thyroid medication right after I started Medi accounts for the extra pounds. I have a friend here who started the same time that I did and she's right around where you are.

I saw your post about possibly switching over to the AS from Stay Slim. I'm actually considering going the other direction. I've already weaned myself down to 1 AS per day (down from 3) because it wires me and makes it hard to sleep. Are you hungry on Stay Slim? I'm not on the AS, even with just 1/day now. I'm eating around 550-625 protein calories, plus veggies or veggies/fruit per day. I had to cut soy from my diet, so I'm making pretty much everything from scratch now. Overall, I feel great, though!

Yes, I have been hungry in the afternoons. I have to force myself to eat first thing in the morning, but between lunch and dinner it has been really difficult. So, I thought I would try it and see what I thought. I was really going to try to do this without the AS, but it can't hurt to try and see how it does for me. I actually just took the first one a couple of hours ago only to realize I had already taken a Stay Slim first thing this morning...hope I don't have any crazy reactions!

I might want to get your email so I can correspond with you and find out what exactly you are and aren't eating...

Thanks for the encouragement! :-)

Stephanie - I can't PM you until you have 20 posts, so you can contact me at this same username at gmail.

The AS was definitely a huge help for me at first. Not having the cravings for snacks was an enormous help. My husband keeps saying that he could never do this, I keep telling him that it's not that hard when you're not hungry all the time.

Way to go, Jennifer !! Isn't it fun shedding those pounds? And I know what you mean ~ when my clothes started getting big on me early in the program, I was astonished by such quick results. The great thing about this program is that it's also life-long lasting if you stick with it!

Hello Melody and Susan from PNS! Melody, I was right behind you at the clinic today, and I am down another 4lbs as well...all fat! We're all bound to run into each other eventually (at least I hope so!)

Miss Ann,
Thank you for your welcome; it was posts like yours that got me motivated to do this program. And I noticed that you are actually BELOW your goal weight...you go girl!

Hey Honeybee! I'll be there tomorrow for my 2nd shot and will weigh in on Friday! Do you work in the area? So glad to hear how well you are doing!! I am going through that queezy nausea today which is the signal of the hump for me...then comes the veggie cravings. That always cracks me up! LOL

Hello All, I'm new to Medi-Weight Loss. This is day 8 for me. My first weigh in was yesterday and I was down 10.7 lbs! I'm happy about this, but honestly I was hoping for a little more. I'm following the program - but opting for the leanest options I can. I choose success over variety and flavor (lol). I'm so excited! I saw my co worker shrink in two months and I knew I had to do this. I broke my foot almost a month ago and can't do my cardio. I was down 27 lbs from cardio and knew I must do something while I'm in this crazy boot. I decided now is the time! I just wish I started this long ago!

I feel great, and enjoy reading the blogs. I just don't know much about this website and what threads I should be on.

What should I expect for week 2 if I follow the program. I am NOT a cheater at all! I even put myself through the ULTIMATE test for me... the weekend. We were having a birthday party at our land while we set up for hunting season. It was a party with great food and drinks. I cooked and was social the whole time and didn't cheat or come close to cheating once! I didn't even have a beer (which would be my weekend treat). YEAH! I CAN do this!!
