Congrats Sally1. I haven't been back here for a while but need to start. We started at the same time and I've now lost 43 pounds. It's amazing how much better I feel about everything. I don't really weight food anymore, and being smarter is just a way of life. Again, it's good to see you doing this well and also enjoying it. Keep going and good luck.

Headrush..Dizzy when standing?
I didn't know where else to post this but I am at the beginning of week 3 and have been feeling really weird headrushes, and dizzy when I stand up after sitting down. Is this something that is normal for the Medi diet? Please help?!?!

Well, I had the same issue, but mine was my blood pressure dropping. I have a history of hypertension, and since starting Medi, mine has been up and down. I suggest discussing this with your Medi staff ~ they will check your bp ~ and talk to your primary care doctor.

Hi again, I have another question, I had to eat out this morning whic is different for me, so I went to Chic Fil A and got a Chic biscuit. I promptly threw away the biscuit since I never liked those anyway, and scraped off all the breading that I could get off. there was still some on there so i only ate about 2/3 of it, but I am thinking since I am only on Day 5 that i should count that for 1/2 of my allowed carbs. Any thoughts?
I am on day 5 and am in moderate ketosis so that is a plus. Thanks Vicki |

Onederland
I am on week 5 and I made my first mini goal at weigh in today. I wanted to be in onederland by September 9th when I go out of town to see a friend. Well I made it 9 days early.
I lost 5 pounds last week even though it was a hard week. I live on the MS Gulf Coast and on Saturday we had the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. I work with a Disaster Relief organization and we celebrated 5 years in ministry. We have come a long way but there are still over 5000 families that are in need of having their homes rebuilt or repaired. Please pray for these families. I have lost 23.39 pounds and 13.6 pounds of fat. This plan is really working for me. ![]() |

Way to go, Soozie! I see you're from Ocean Springs! That's the clinic I go to! Just started---August 20. I lost 6.5 lbs the first week and I go in this Friday for my second weigh-in.
Good to see someone from my neck-of-the-woods on here! |

Aw, man. Here it is weigh-in day and POW: Special Lady Time is here. I'm down ten pounds (AMAZING! YESSS!) but I did not reach my own personal goal of hitting 199, according to my scale here at home. (by 2 pounds)
My first official MWL weigh-in is this evening and I plan on doing everything right and all that jazz. And hey, this just means next week when Special Lady Time is over, I'll be even lighter. Sometimes I feel like that kid in school who got straight A's AND did the extra credit. Come to think of it, this forum feels like a study group for Weight Loss 101. I'm a freshman at the University of Thin. |

I did it! One week on MWL down! I was losing great and then POW! Special Lady Time happened.
Also, I got in trouble for eating too much cheese. But my doc is proud of me and I have never been this enthusiastic about being "allowed" to eat spinach. Next week's goal: ONE-derland!!! |

to these boards and to everybody else who has joined of late. Just wanted to come on here because I haven't been on the Newbie thread for a while and give you all some encouragement. I started this program on 5/31, skeptical, scared to embark on yet another weight loss program, disgusted with myself, etc., etc., etc. I just have to say that I am completely amazed that, in 14 weeks, I have lost 30 pounds! I just remain in awe of this WOE, and I encourage all of you to stick with it, cuz it REALLY DOES WORK!! Also, I have lost 5 inches from my hips and 4.5 inches from my waist. I am wearing much smaller sizes (mostly stuff that I had that I couldn't squeeze myself into). Yes, I felt weak the first week, with some headaches and dizziness, but it passes as soon as you can add more calories. Just stick with it, drink your 128 oz./day, journal EVERYthing, inject as much variety as you can into what you eat, exercise, do what your clinic tells you, and you WILL have success. Good luck, everybody! |

I just got back from my week 1 check-in and I lost 10.9 pounds! I am so incredibly thrilled with the results. That's like a month of losses for me on almost any other diet plan.
I also found out that my thyroid appears to be pretty out of whack on both measures. I'm going to my primary care doctor to have that checked out. I'm a little worried about that, but at least now I know that it may be an issue for me. I'm really thankful for theses boards. After a friend joined Medi I came here to read about it. Your success stories gave me the power to pick up the call and join myself.

I know you're worried about your thyroid, but now it can be treated. I found that the Medi NP was VERY torough in reviewing my lab results with me, which helped me to more intelligently discuss a couple of issues with my primary care doc. What a great program! |

Hi Stephanie, pleased to "meet" you. It is fun to start off around the same time with someone who has similar stats! I won't have an update this week as I am out of town, but I am very excited for my next appointment.
My primary care doctor did put me on Thyroid hormone replacement based on my Medi lab results. I am so thankful that I started this program because I have no idea how long that would have gone undiagnosed without these tests. |

I want to thank EVERYONE for this Board. Because of your posts, I decided to give Medi a try. I have tried diets in the past, and have never been able to stick to them. I have made a decision that I am in this for the "long haul." I am so grateful for all of the yummy recipes as well! Tomorrow is my first weigh-in. I have been good and not weighed myself at home. So, keep your fingers crossed for me tomorrow morning!
Kelly...that is awesome that Medi discovered your thyroid problem. What a blessing to be able to get that in control now! Thanks again guys, Stephanie |
