kmt- I have not experienced in problems yet but I have wondered if it will affect TOM.
R u taking the appetite suppressant, that should help. Maybe talk w/ your dr about your cravings and he can adjust your meds. Also, one suggestion to help w/ cravings was to drink the low sodium chicken broth. Hope this helps!

Today was my first day and although it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, it was still pretty difficult. Even with the appetite suppressant 3x daily along with all of the other pills I am STARVING!!!! I have tried the chicken broth, propel water, and nothing is helping. I'm already light headed and shaky today-is this normal on day 1 already? I am going to need A LOT of motivation as I'm doing all I can to keep myself from running to the refrigerator and just binging.

Hi everyone! Today was my first day on Medi. I think I did pretty good. They told me to stay between 500-600 calories and I am at 585 calories now. I had quite a headache earlier, but I think that was because I didn't have my coffee this morning (I usually load it with sugar and cream). I did, however, make a pot of coffee tonight and I'm tolerating it with NO sugar and a little bit of french vanilla, no sugar added creamer! I do feel a bit shakey, but I'm hoping it will go away!

I have been on WeightWatchers (couldn't do it), SouthBeach (got bored with it) and many others with little to no results. I am praying this will help. I keep telling myself - with the money I am investing in this and how great I will look when I drop the weight - that is just more motivation to stick to it!!

I weigh in at 233lbs and am 5'9" - when I walked into the clinic they said they would not have guessed I was over 180, but guess what - I am. I swear I am just rock solid (solid fat, that is)!!

Here's to getting skinny!! Good luck everyone!! Let's 'stick' to the plan and 'stick' together!!

PS - I have read all of these posts and I must say - it is GREAT MOTIVATION!! Thank you!!

Hi everyone. I'm back. I changed jobs & moved to a new town. I really liked this program and felt good too. I'm restarting tomorrow. Already got my chicken defrosting in the fridge. I just weighed myself and at least I didn't gain from when I last lost in Oct.

I am on day 17, I really felt exhausted yesterday, my husband pretty much let me sleep the day away, with the exception of getting at least my 30 minutes of walking in I was a veg. I am going to get my second shot first thing tommorrow.

kmt195...pretty wierd, I am on day 18 today, but on day 16 I felt the exact same way. I was just exhausted and did nothing, but lay in bed until I picked my son up from school. Up until then I had plenty of energy and felt great. Maybe its just a body adjustment thing. Thankfully it only lasted 1 day since the weekend is here and w/ a 6 yr old as a single mom there is no rest for the weary(sp?) Great job on the walking inspite of though!

If you haven't tried powerade zero or some other form of electrolyte replacement, try some and see if it helps. I am on day 18 and when I get up in the morning I have a couple of swigs of powerade zero and it seems to fight off fatigue. Make sure you are spreading your calories throughout the day as well. Eating more often and less amount will help your body adjust. Laughing cow has the cheese wedges (light) that are great snacks but they also have cheese bites which are small cubes of cheese. 5 bites are 35 cals. If you eat these slowly, it can help give you some satisfaction when craves of habit kick in.
I hope this helps!

I am in day 6 of week one and I am feeling awful. I honestly felt great up until day 4. I woke up feeling very fatigued to the point that I called in sick to work and went and got the second MIC. I have spent most of the weekend at home. I actually slept until 1. I have been eating regularly, drinking lots of water and powerade zero. I am feeling jittery, nauseated and extremely tired. I’m having a hard time convincing myself to stick it out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hey Thin10 - I live in Parkland wh/ is just below Boca Raton and I go to the Boca office. How about u? Regarding the exhaustion, nope, day 16 was the only day I felt that way thankfully. It was weird b/c it was just out of the blue. I don't know if it had anything to do w/ the diet...I thought I was maybe just fighting off a cold or something so I just rested that day and was fine afterward..knocking on wood

Regarding quiting...I am assuming that since today is day 6 for you, you will be going in to the clinic tomorrow? I wouldn't give up, I would talk to the doctor, let him know your symptoms and see what he says. Regarding the nausea...when are you taking your meds? I take them after I eat my 3 largest meals (I eat 4xs aday) and that seems to work for me. Also wh/ appetite suppressant r you on? the 1 aday or 3 aday? That could attribute to your jittery feeling. You may need to switch that up. Good Luck!

The headache, dizziness and fatigue kicked in on my third day. I wondered if maybe this diet was not for me. Fortunately, it only lasted one day.
I consider myself a food addict and will have to go through a certain amount of withdrawal until I get clean. I think that making the decision to stick with this diet regardless and then trying to find ways to get through the low times will pay off in the long run.
That being said, you never need to ignore your body when it is telling you something is wrong or out of balance. Keep in touch with your clinic and advisors, even if it is everyday.

I am on my 2nd day and although it is much better than my first, I am also experiencing dizziness and fatigue. I crashed hard tonight after dinner yet I'm not tired enough to fall asleep. I am also addicted to food-mainly sugar so I knew it was going to be really hard for me to get through this first week.

I have found that drinking a crystal lite helps a lot. You have to keep your potassium level up. And make sure you have something in your stomach before you take the supplements. One night during my first week I woke up at 2:00 in the morning and just had to have something to eat. I ate 3 kosher dill pickle spears and it actually made me feel better. I called my counselor the next day and she said that was OK. I still lost 9 pounds in my first week. Just try to hold on, keep checking with your clinic and eat every bit of food you are allowed on the first week.

SC-- Saturday was so far the only day that I felt completely depleted. I woke up yesterday refreshed and ready to go. I am going to get the b-12 shot today around 3:30. I think it is really my body finally going, ok you are really doing this and not going to give me any sugar, I 'll show you . hehehe...

As far as headache and dizziness go, I haven't had either, but like other posters I am making sure I get the potassium and electrolytes. My doctor stressed this from day 1. I use the Smartwater, just water, no flavor with added electrolytes. ( Wal-mart 1.50 near the deli in our area)

I just finished week 1 and I am terribly disappointed. I only lost 2 lbs. I stuck with it, drastically cut calories, struggled through the hunger and fatigue all for 2lbs. I didn’t cheat and followed the rules. I just don’t get it. Maybe this just isn’t for me.

I did not see the the doctor just the tech. She attributed it to my TOM and didnt seem that suprised.

SCgirlinFl- I go to the Jupiter center.

I would definitely give it another week before giving up. Was your water up? It is entirely possible that your TOM caused you to retain lots of water. Also, did you make sure to eat at least 500 calories per day? If you go under 500 calories your body will think you are starving and you will not lose. Are you in ketosis? Did you drink all of your water?

Also, you can request to see the doctor. If you don't see better results ask to see the doctor. She may need to adjust something in your plan. Also, take your journal in and ask her to look at it. You may be doing something wrong.

Thanks for your help ladies. My water was up 3. I do not always hit 500 but at least come within 20-25. Yes have been in moderate ketosis since day 4. I am going to push it another week but its hard to keep going.

Thin10, glad to see you are not giving up! I would definitely give it another week & maybe get the xtra B1/B6 shot when you go in for your 2nd MIC...that shot helps w/ water retention (so I'm told) I don't take it. Make sure to get in your 500 calories of protein, not including your veggies (that goes on top of the protein calories). Several times I have had to have a couple of oz's of deli turkey as a late night snack even though I am not hungry just to get in my calories. Dipped in a spicy mustard it's not bad.

I definitely agree w/ Susie, I think you should ask to speak w/ the doctor on your next visit to see what's going on. I feel we are paying for THEIR help, not just the tech. That's what make's this diet different.
Good luck, SC

I think you may not be eating enough. 500 calories is the bare minimum, and if you are going under this you are starving yourself. It is easy to add in nuts, a bar, a shake, ... to get yourself over 500 calories. My doctor says as long as it is protein, it is better to go a little over 500 calories than a little under.

I agree totally with Susie. Eat every bit you are allowed and if you are a little over, as long as it is protein, you'll still be OK. My first week I had a 540 day and a 525 day and still lost 9 lbs. Staying hydrated is a big part of the diet.
I know it is hard to keep up your will power when you are hungry or feeling low. Try some of the tips other posts have offered, but in the long run, only you can find what works for your own body. When I feel shaky, it must be low potassium or magnesium, because I can drink a crystal lite and feel better.
Hang in there!!!!
