CCCOX,
It is likely the Omega 3. Try taking them with food or not - (different than the way you have been taking them). It may help. I am two days behind you and go the Southlake clinic. Good luck! Day two, so far so good! |

Question about calories
I have my sheet from the clinic w/ the calories per oz for certain proteins, but there seems to be quite a discrepancy b/w those calories & the calories on the packaging. Is anyone else finding that and if so wh/ # are you going by?

Does anyone know if sugar free jello is allowed? What about pickles? Both are on the week one shopping list. Both are zero calories and zero carbs, but I can't figure out if they are okay or not. If they are on the shoppinig list it seems that they should be okay? Sara |

Sara -- I think jello and pickles are allowed after week one.
CCCOX -- The Omega 3 pills are from a fish source, and unfortunately one of the side effects are fishy burps! blah! Someone @ my clinic suggested putting them in the fridge (not freezer). Works for me! Shannon -- Did the clinic give you a glossy little pamphlet? Titled supplements and more? All of the info about the supplements is in there. If they didn't PM me on CM (screenname: Schuyler) and I'll get you the info! Also, about the weight loss -- I have read that sometimes people don't lose at the beginning and then all of a sudden there is a big weight loss right at the end of the week. I peak at the scale every day, so I really shouldn't even say this -- but try not to weigh yourself until your next weigh in. That way you won't start to feel discouraged. I promise that you'll lose some! LMK if you need anything! |

Hi, Newbies and others:
I have joined the forum 5 weeks ago and have been on the plans for that long too. However, I am embarrassed to say that I am not sure what PM means (is that personal message?) and if so, how do you do that when you want to send a message directly without othes seeing your message. I see other posts when people say PM me, explain what this is and how it works, thanks! (it's funny because I am a computer programmer but am a dum-dum when it comes to "forum-speak" Please enlighten me! Thanks!

week 1 day 3
I have a question about flavored waters. I bought some eating right flavored waters, no sugar, is that allowed on week 1? I meant to ask on Friday when I went for shot 2 but forgot. I have looked through the paperwork and can't tell. I know the crystal light packets are also recommended but am not sure they are okay on week 1. Some of the packets for water have aspartme , which I am not fond of, is there another brand or type that uses something other than aspartme? Food hasn't been a problem but getting enough water is, I seem to be a couple glasses short a day. I thought throwing in some variety might be good but want to make sure its allowed. Hot tea has helped too, both with hunger and water intake, since it is so cold in Texas right now. To keep the caffeine down I use one teabag for two cups of tea during the day. |

Hi Shananagins, Regarding drinking water, I make sure to drink at least 16 ounces of water before my first cup of coffee (usually have only 1-2 daily) and continue to drink plain water throughout the day. I'm on week 2 and limit myself to 1 glass of anything that has aspartame or the like in it. Like you, I also use a tea bag twice and LOVE the Good Earth tea (Original Sweet and Spicey)....it's all natural and so wonderful that I don't need to add anything to it. Trust me, I'm not usually a hot tea drinker and only found out about it a month or so ago. And I know what you mean about it being COLD! On my way to work at 6:30 AM yesterday the bank sign displayed zero degrees! At the end of my 12 hour shift it was 6 degrees. I'm ready for warmer weather!

I am doing fine so far on week 1 day 3, although a little hungrier than normal this morning. I have a project to do today for work, so I think it may be stress hunger. I travel starting tomorrow for the next couple of days so I am trying to get all my ducks in a row to succeed. Great job on first week loss, keep up the good work! Shannon |

Well, fellow Medi Weight Loss Friends,
I have decided to "own up" to myself regarding my self-image. I created a photo avatar of myself and I posted a "full body" photo of myself in the user profile. Just thought you would like to see the face behind the name! I cannot wait to place a "thin" me photo, when I reach goal! |

For others who wants to know how to send Private Message to another "poster/friend", click on that person's name/handle at the top in the smaller box on the right (above the avatar/photo). It will say Send A Private Message to (name), select it, it will bring you the message page for you to enter your message. Then to read your inbox messages, you need to go to your User Control Panel (where you set up your stats/avatar, etc., there will be a "new section stating Inbox Messages" and select the message to read it. |

College Inn broth has MSG -- just a warning for anyone who wants to avoid that. Swansons broth (low sodium) is another option. Crystal Light packets are allowed, but they should be limited because they have 10 calories per pack. And yes, you should drink 16 oz of a beverage containing an electrolyte, but it doesn't have to come from crystal light. Smart Water and Powerade Zero are other options.
Everyone keep up the good work! |

Target has them in the individual packs as well. That is where I finally found them.
About flavored waters...Safeway makes a sparkling water called CLEAR, zero anything and no sodium either - it does use aspartame. And WalMart has a similar product with zero anything. I have one a day. Lots of flavors too. Jo Last edited by Desert-Rose7; 01-09-2010 at 04:25 PM.. |

Feel like I have hit a wall
End of day 3 and for some reason the cravings have JUST kicked in. I mean my mouth is literally salivating at the though of carbs & I CANNOT quite thinking about them! I am excited to test my Ketosis tomorrow, I am a little frustrated b/c my clinic suggested using the wishbone spritzers as flavoring so I thought they were fine...after using them to flavor my scallops I looked down & saw it was 2grams of carbs
Oh well, a lesson learned the hard way is a lesson soon not forgotten. I am also struggling with headaches for the past 2 days. When will the relief come?Anyway, sorry to be such a buzz kill, just having a rough evening & wanted to vent. I'll touch base tomorrow & hopefully have some good news about being in Ketosis. |

Thanks for all the help on the water question. I went today to get the crystal light hydration and power Zero (glad to hear that is allowed). I looked for College Inn broth but couldn't find that at several stores. I got Pacific brand low sodium which has no sugar. I am putting some chicken tenders in it for a mock soup tonite. I tasted it plain which was fairly bland but added spices to the "soup". Good luck on your ketosis test tmrw, mine too! I hope the venting helped, I know this first week is rough, but I am anticipating getting into the groove of this program and getting some real results. Relief comes with a smaller size jean for me! I did have headaches for the 1st two days but some excedrin took care of it. Hang in there, the prize is worth it! |
