Shannon, nice to meet you. I am actually on day one, but I was told to check ketosis after 3 days of the plan, so on Day 4. I hope this helps. I love starting a thing, whether a job or program. It's a challenge in the beginning like a shiny new toy. I hope it takes awhile to wear off. I don't normally take any meds, so all the supplements and appetite suppressant is different for me. I am going a million miles a minute right now and I like it. Good luck to all of us.

I actually have a question for some of the veteran MWL members. Will I always feel this full on so little? I could barely eat lunch, and really only ate because it was lunch time. I don't know if it's the appetite suppresant and other supplements or all mental. But I thought I would be lying on the floor starving to death by noon, sooooo wrong! If this is the case, I can do this, I was just afraid of feeling hungry. I will worry about temptations and dealing with them later, not really an issue...YET!
I am not normally one to start expecting a big difference on the first day, but just curious what to expect. Thanks again! |

I felt the same way at the beginning. Protein is very filling so that helps a lot. In addition the appetite suppressent works...at least it did for me! Good for you for still eating lunch. It is so important to make sure to get all your calories in everyday! I tend to eat 4-5 smaller meals/snacks a day. If I am short towards the end of the day I drink an EAS shake. Keep up the great work! |

I'm a nervous nelly!
Went to appt today and start program tomorrow. Not as worried about being hungry as I am about getting out of my habit of late night snacking. I hope I will be able to resist. As a single mom I have so much control over what goes on, but this is just one area I CANNOT get a handle on. I feel prepared w/ the help of all of the suggestions regarding dealing w/ the hunger &/or symptons occuring during first week. Any suggestions on kicking the late night snacking habit?

Annie Mae, That snack sounds GOOD! I haven't seen laughing cow cheese here at Dillons or Walmart. Anyone from the Wichita area on the thread? Tell me where you found Laughing Cow Cheese Got back from visiting my daughter in KS City area and did most of her Butts and Guts class she taught yesterday (feeling it today!) then last night did a little yoga (I'm so off balance!) Planning to start walking on my treadmill in the next day or two as an optional accountability program at work starts tomorrow for me. Last night we went out to Joe's Crab Shack and I ordered a side of cole slaw, a side of crab legs, and ate a few shrimp. Last night and this AM still in ketosis! Horray, and it was delicious! (You have to work so hard to get to that crab meat...geez!) My daughter noticed the difference (about 10 lbs lighter since she last saw me 12/26!) So far I'm not interested in trying fruit, don't want to get anything that sugary yet. So I've pretty much stayed with cooked asparagus or cooked spinach leaves (in my scrambled eggs). Doing well and surprisingly getting my water in too. Helps to have a 20 oz bottle I just keep refilling (Rubbermaid). Welcome to the newer Newbies! Looking forward to seeing your numbers go down too!

Cole slaw? I do not recall seeing that anywhere on the allowed food list.

Shannon -- Hi! I think I'm on CM with you =) They should have told you @ the clinic to start testing on day 4. Three FULL days on program and then test. This morning you will probably be in. That being said, after dropping 8.2 lbs the first wk (yay!) last night I had a cheat. Not to celebrate or anything, I just caved. I don't need a lecture on the dangers of cheating, either, because I already know! I feel terrible
-- gassy, full, heavy -- and this morning I was up 4 lbs (I also don't need a lecture on weighing myself) and I'm out of ketosis! I've learned my lesson!!! Spaghetti is DEFINITELY a nono! I now know that it's just not worth it. I was supposed to get to add fruits and veggies in today, but I'm going to take 2 days of protein only to try to get back into Ketotis. *slap on wrist*:blush: |

Hi Meshellej,
I had the same problem last week when I started the program. What I've done is take the last appetite suppressant no later than 3:PM and that had made a difference. Hope this helps and welcome wk1:-9 lbs |

Today is it!!
I have been reading the threads for weeks now and have finally made my consultation. Thank you to everyone who posted information, it has been most helpful. I have printed the "helpful info for week one", completed my registration forms and I re-introduced myself to the gym. Wish me luck this coming week. I dined on pasta for dinner last evening and a bowl of cereal for breakfast. I am ready!!

I am sure January is when you see alot of newbies to this site. I hope the majority stick to the program and are successful! I am a newbie today, first day. I have a friend who did very well on this program, and it wasn't someone I would have expected to do well. I did some research, read the blogs, prepared myself and went to see my Dr (for a yearly) but also to talk to her about the program and get my EKG and blood panel done. I would have liked to get through week 1 before the start of the New Year, but will just have to adjust to the time frame I have to work with. Thank you all for the blogs and info, they helped alot to get me steered in this direction, and I believe will help me through this transition. To the other newbies, I am in the mud with you, so if you need a hand, lets pull through with each others help! Happy New Year!

Greetings! I am on my third day of the program and am absolutely thrilled to have found this website! What wonderful tips and support from those who have just started and those who are in maintenance - I can already tell this will be such a motivational tool in my lifestyle change! I am struggling a bit, as I cannot be on the prescriptions.. so I am crazy hungry and find myself eating more in the 800 calorie range (albeit, still Medi-friendly foods).. but I remain resilient and am happy to find support amongst all of you!
SCgirlinFL - where abouts in South Florida are you - perhaps we go to the same clinic?? Good Luck Everyone!!!! |

Just wanted to let everyone know I have a new favorite treat! Emerald Cocoa Roasted Almonds (100 calorie pack)! I use them as my one fat for the day -- they taste like dessert! They are a little over the 12 nut or 90 calorie range, but my clinic suggested them and they are delicious! 2 carbs and 3g of protein. I personally think they taste like a crunchy chocolate teddy graham. Yum! Great for a little "dessert".

MommybyNate, yes I am on CM with you! I checked again today and I am in the small area of ketosis.
I am doing great so far-not feeling hungry, etc. but I did cheat and check my scale and I don't think I have lost anything! I know I am not suppose to, but am now concerned I might be doing something wrong? Or, perhaps, it's just that I wasn't in ketosis until today and now is when the weight loss really begins? Anyone have any ideas? Also, I was wondering if anyone knew the ingredients in the Medi Fat Burner? I'm trying to do this program without the supplements (other than the multi-vitamin) and wanted to check the ingredients to sumbit to my doctor and see if he thought it would be ok if I took it. I have PCOS and hypothyroidism that I take medicine for, and didn't want to interfere with those if it wasn't good for me. Thanks for all the help & support! Good Luck to everyone! |

You will get used to drinking the water. Some people are extremely thristy from the AS and that passes as well. A trick I did for making sure I got all my water in was to fill a gallon jug of water in the morning and pour from it all day. When it was gone, I was golden! I still do this, it becomes habit! |
