Don't be discouraged with that 4 lbs! You really don't have that much weight to lose so the weight might not come off as quickly. Most of the people (not all) who lose larger amounts the first week have larger amounts of weight that they need to lose. 4 lbs is great!

Don't get discouraged...reevaluate what you are eating and make sure that you are journaling everything. Make sure you are getting 128oz of water in...also spring for the extra $10 shot. I assure you with everything that I can that this program works...give yourself to it and you will be amazed at your progress. |

I guess I'm lucky and I haven't needed them yet, but I have been a bit hungry just not unbearable. I stepped on a scale this afternoon and I've lost 19lbs on my first week. WOW!!!! I wasn't expecting that. |

Today is my first day on Medi. I am not hungry, but I am very tired. I have no energy to do anything. If you experienced this, when did you get some energy back?

Please dont weigh yourself every day too... you'll just beat yourself to death. Keep the water intake at the suggested levels and your body will adjust and start to flush everything out. Good luck!! |

Hi everyone! I'm new to the program. I just had my 1st official weigh in after the initial visit and I am down 11.8 pounds! I'm super excited because it wasn't excruciatingly hard like I thought it would be. I have read through dozens and dozens of pages on the Medi part of this site and they very much helped me through my first week.
Anyways, I just thought I'd introduce myself! |

Thanks Carl! I did feel a little better today. I am proud of myself for getting through the first 2 days. I'm sticking to it and can't wait to see the results at my next appointment.

Hi everyone! I had my first appointment with a MWL clinic in MA this Friday and am on my third day now. I'm so glad to come across this forum, have read three or four threads since Friday. You guys are all truly inspiring and encouraging!

On my fourth day and I'm alot more energized. My ketoses in up to moderate and I don't have that icky taste in my mouth any more. Yay! I do have a question. Up until today I have only been eating eggs, minimally processed deli turkey and grillied chicken. Today I ate a plain hotdog. Will food that's really processed like a hotdog throw me out of ketoses? Will it effect my weight loss? Thanks for your help!

Dont go nuts with it though, a hotdog is still a hotdog and comes with its price. Check out the food threads for other menu ideas... week 1 can be boring and you need to learn to mix it up a bit. Good luck! |

I have had Oscar Meyer light all beef hotdogs several times and never had a problem (my kids like these). Look at the calories/carbs though. Some of them are SUPER high in calories, not to mention sodium that can make you retain water.

I have a question about the ketone level... My very first day I got a Trace, second day Moderate, then yesterday and today Large. My friend who's also on the MWL diet said that Large meant I'm dehydrating and suggested me drinking more water. I've been drinking lots of water - probably about 4-6 Aquafina bottles a day which translate to about 2-3 liter//68-102 oz. of water a day. Is there another explanation to the ketosis level? I'm a bit worried about adding too much water weight as well even though fat is the main target. Thanks in advance for your help!

Look at this thread for a lot of helpful info in the subject of ketosis:
Ketosis Also, the MINIMUM requirement for water is 128 oz. You are below that. The water is a very important component part of this program. It is essential to flush the bad stuff out of your system and keep your internal organs such as kidney/liver/gall bladder working properly. Jo |
