I'm Back

Just got back from my weigh in and stayed the same in everything. But I did lose 1/4" on my waist. I was doing the happy dance since I was so, not on program for about a week. No more cheating for me. Next Wednesday my goal is 3lbs and if its more I'll take it, but I have to be realistic I know that 5 or more lbs. will not come off every week.
Next Wednesday I have an appt. at 3:45.
Still waiting to get into ketosis then I can add veggies and some fruit.
Ok have a good week all see you on the boards.

Good Wednesday morning everyone! It's hump day, one day closer to the weekend Well, I've been catching up with everyone's post, and I'm glad to see we have some new peeps. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's weekend. I did, but I definitely over indulged...WAY TOO MUCH I got really sick, due to the fact I ate anything and everything on Saturday. I think I ate the most fattiest, most greasiest stuff I could find and I paid for it. I felt like I gained 20 lbs.. ha I've been going to the clinic every 2 weeks, since every week is a bit steep for me, so my next weigh in is next Friday 2/27. I weighed in this past Friday and lost 4.8 lbs. Seems slooow, but I'm almost at my goal weight and the lady said my body doesn't wanna give me the last few lbs., so I'm gonna have to fight for it. I laughed, cuz I felt like I've been fighting for the weight loss anyhow. My biggest problem is making it to the gym. I really want to tone up, but I can't seem to motivate myself enough right now to go. I'm gonna attempt to go this afternoon, so wish me luck. Oh, before I end this novel of mine, I heard about this b12 supplement that is supposed to be waay better than just getting the shot and taking b12 pills, etc. I ordered a 30 day supply so I will let everyone know the results. Just in case interested here's the website:

TriVita | Sublingual B-12 |

Have a great day

Hi Everyone!

I have a breakfast I've been enjoying and wanted to share:

1 small container Fat Free Oikos plain greek yogurt
2 Tbs Chunky Fitnutz peanut butter powder
1 Tbs unsweetened cocoa
2 Packets Splenda

Mix all together and enjoy! It is only 180 calories, with 22 grams of protein. It fills me up for hours and is soooo satisfying! Great before a workout! Enjoy! :-)

I live in Orlando and get mine at Whole Foods. Do you have a Whole Foods there?

teacherdli,

Most of the Publix carry it but not all. What area do you live in?
Mother Earth Health Food Store usually carry it too.

Had my week two weigh in today. Lost 3lbs for a two week total of 12.6lbs. Was told to continue to increase exercise and add some toning activities. They gave me a sheet with a few new recipes including a lettuce wrap recipe that looked good, but of course I walked out without the sheet........I will ask for another copy next week. I was told to fast before my week three appointment and they will re-do blood work to see if cholesterol has come down.

I am traveling again tomorrow so I will be packing my individual containers of salmon and my medi bars to get me through the day

Good luck to everyone....keep up the good works!

On my 3rd Week & feeling great!

Hi -- I'm new to Medi. Thanks to this site and all your posts, I made the decision to sign up. I'm so glad I did! I've been on several diet plans, but I feel this one really IS the "one that works!" (Okay, so the appetite suppressants really help ALOT). The first week, I lost over 6 lbs and the 2nd wk I lost 3 lbs. I am very encouraged and very motivated.

Anyway, a few years ago, I was on the Suzanne Somers diet which is sugarfree, low -no carbs plan. Also, no processed or fake foods. I learned quite a bit about eating this way and have found that her books have very good and creative recipes. I'll post some of them on the recipe thread. However, some of her recipes need to be slightly adjusted to lower the fat content. Her website has some great sugarfree & no or low carb sauces, seasonings and condiments (ketchup, cocktail sauce, bbq sauce). She also sells the best sweetener around -- Somersweet. No after taste, all-natural. She also has a baking Somersweet that you measures out exactly like regular sugar -- cup for cup. The products are a bit pricey, but I have found that they taste so much better than most of the lo-carb, sugar-free stuff out there. Well, enough of the sell job! Just thought I'd share.

Also, anyone out there try Dixie Carb Counters Angel Food Puffs? No fat, 2 carbs, sugar-free. Just like angel food cake! Great with berries and SF whipped cream! Yum!

Tried the Walden Farms chocolate syrup and marshmallow dip. All I can say is Yuck!!! I'll pass on that stuff.

I miss my red wine and the occasional martini, though!

Ya know I hvae noticed that my Publix isn't carrying the Choc yet either. I say YET because I plan on requesting they start.
Remember this hint for ANY grocery store - just ask the manager to get it in on their next order. If your store already carries the brand then it is no trouble for them to get it in. (I am going to suggest that they replace the plain with the choc. ) If it is a totally new product then you may have to actually bring them in a label or empty container - the store will need the mfg and UPC code.

Ruthie,

Look at the dreamfields label very carefully. I may say 5 NET carbs but the math doesn't add up. It starts at almost 40 grams of carbs. It is not advisible in the acute phase of the plan.

Mamabear,

Congratulations on your weight loss and starting the medi weight loss plan. It really does work. There are a lot of great recipes out there that can be tweaked to fit the medi plan. Please post any you may have with a suggested tweak in the recipe thread.

You will eventually be able to have some red wine and a very dry martini when you get to the maintainance phase. I look forward to you joining myself and celiamac and all the others that are so close to goal in the maintainance thread.

Way to go! The first week is definitely the hardest. Now it's time to enjoy veggies like you never have before. I couldn't believe how good veggies could taste after not being able to have them for a week.

Carbquick is still really too high in carbs for the acute phase of the plan. With you only being in the 4th week and we don't know how close you are to goal it is hard to make a suggestion for an alternative.

If you wish to gve us that info I am sure someone will have some options for you.

Hang in there.

Greetings from Texas!!!

What a great feeling it is to have a closet full of clothes that are too big for us!!! I am over halfway to my goal and I refuse to go buy clothes. I am down 20 lbs and I feel great. Mr C Darling is down 25lbs and after 32 years of marriage we are remembering what we used to look like before kids. We have great news our daughter just had her 2nd baby and this one is a little girl. We love being nana and boppa and excited about having more energy to play with our grandkids. Have a great week everyone!!

(Okay, so the appetite suppressants really help ALOT).

Thanks for the info. I will definitely look into her stuff and your recipes. They sound intriguing. I have the occassional glass of red wine as me and my husband are into winemaking bigtime. I have had no problems. I stay in ketosis and have lost 38.2 pounds since Nov. 20th. Just make sure you don't have too much and it doesn't cause you to lose your resolve and binge.

Good luck,
Susie
